    Laine misunderstood when they said to him that he cannot score 5 on 5. He thought he needs to score 5 goals with 5 shots. But hey, English is not his native language.

    I think if laine was in matthews place on the leafs and with marner on his wing, laine would be a 60 goal scorer. He hit 44 and made it look so easy in his 2nd year at 19 years old and landed 36 goals as an 18 year old In the nhl, 7 hatricks before the age of 20, a 5 goal game. If laine ever gets traded from winnipeg and gets put on a better team like leafs, boston or islanders. Which sound like the three he would best be suited at, he would be a 50 goal scorer yearly gurantee it. This kid is insane shipping, rarely misses with his shots less, 6'5" and tough too.

    • @Kroitk
      @Kroitk 5 лет назад +1

      @@user-hh8kv1xk1t Laine needs around 60 more goals in the rest of this season to match Ovi's first three seasons. Also JETS now are a lot WORSE than Caps in 2004-2007? You gotta be kidding, Jets are a solid powerhouse these last 2 years especially, so that's false.
      Laine is good, don't get me wrong, and he has the makings to outshine snipers like Stamkos and such, but Ovi won every award an individual can, lead his team into playoffs, carried his team at times, and recently at age 33 literally led the charge in scoring his way with his team to the Stanley Cup.
      He will be the best scorer that every played once he retires, so comparing a 3 year newbie to a REAL legend? That's an over-exaggeration.

      @@user-hh8kv1xk1t You're talking about 2004-2007 as if it was the 80s with little goalie equipment, no butterfly, and high scoring Gretzky era loool.
      Rewatch those games, thats the Dead Puck Era at its finest, good goalies with big equipment. And he STILL won the rocket richard in his 30s in this day and age, and won the race so many times straight.
      Again, I think you're jumping the gun way too soon. Laine is GOOD, with potential to be one of the best snipers, and in my opinion better than Stamkos or Tarasenko/Kucherov in terms of pure release, and better scorer than Matthews (although not all around).
      But you are literally comparing him to the best scorer EVER. Give in a decade to see where he even stacks up, he has a looong ass way, and so far, at this point, Ovi was already ahead.

    Laine is a goal scorer...simply with his shot. Hes not much of a playmaker. Hes got tons of skill behind him. And you cant compare him to McDavid or Mathews. Their each their own with their own strengths in different areas. That's the great thing about hockey...you can have 3 guys that are incredible at the game and rack up the points like crazy but all in such a diverse way.

      True. But if you lull to that, he passes on you, and the others score.
      They've even picked some ideas how Laine shoots, the one-timer.
      True, many others in the league do that too - but Laine is one of the best,
      and Jets players have a 1st row seats to take note and adapt something of that to their shots.
      Have seen Sheiffele and Wheeler etc. beginning to use their version of the one-timer on-the-knee shots much more. The shot loaded ready before the pass comes.
      And yeah, it wasn't Laine's invention, but he's the one to inspire the Jets in that.
