Sad to see the summer go, but a new natural beauty of the countryside awaits. One thing I do love in the Fall and Winter is the smell of burning wood. We have many evergreen trees and many cedar trees here, which have a wonderful scent of their own that lingers in the air. I always smile because the weed pulling is over for a while and I can focus on the inside of the house more and go on adventures antique and thrift shopping by myself or with friends/family. Always fun. I love to decorate for Thanksgiving and Christmas so they are big celebrations for me. I would love to see how you decorate around your home during these celebrations. Thank you always for these wonderful videos. They are such an inspiration and I look forward to them.
I wait for your videos as they truly give me happiness, calmness, and a peace I search for. You truly are talented and you are blessed in your own right. Thank you for sharing your country, your home with us. (Please don't pay attention to negativity. They shouldn't be merited.)
Thank you so much for sharing. I love the slower place, non aggressive way of doing things. The only place I find support for that is through videos like yours or the occasional reminder on Instagram (and recently, my sons). Every time I make some small gentle step towards preparing for winter I smile and think of your family as well. (I also connected with what you had said about the universe previously but did not have words for it). Living with intention and even gently is not easy but feels right. I really appreciate your videos and thank you for sharing!
Just keep following what you feel is right for you and your family. The world is changing quickly and we’re invited to stay very close and true to ourselves… at least that is what I feel
Thanks for the great peaburger recipe! I will try it. It was delightful to watch the parched earth drink up some heaven-sent rain. I wish our community had a green dump!
I love your videos so much. I won't ever get to travel to France and this gives me such a beautiful visual of the countryside there . Your kitchen is looking beautiful. Keep these videos coming and thank you again for sharing. NAMASTE
So right exactly..now have my memories of 33 yrs dans la Nieve a Pouilly sur Loire..yes the sunsets all yr round are always remarkable enjoy your trip ..but return with your remarkable Vlog!
I so enjoy your videos. so soothing. yes, thank God for rain. I love the way you cook and prepare your simple, nutritious meals. you are inspiring me to up my cooking game. to embrace slow cooking. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
Nice to see that your part of the world is finally getting some much needed rain. We are not in a draught where I live but it sure makes a difference to the air quality after a good rain which we finally had yesterday. I am striving for your life style in the next few years. Though I love what I do, I am ready to give up city life. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your 'simple life' in the French Countryside. Even though is a lot of hard work, there are a lot of us who would love to simplify our lives! I love watching your video's. They are very soothing. Keep them coming! God bless your family.
So very grateful that you have received much needed rain. The veggie burgers & buns looked delish - adding it to the list. Thank you as always for the serenity, lovely views and elegant videography. A bientot!
So grateful for more recipes! Spelt baguettes have become a daily blessing in our house , all because you gave me the confidence and simple technique to try bread baking (again!) …..nature and nurture can only equal happiness which is lovely to see in others lives. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Oh I am honestly so happy to hear this! Glad to know your family is enjoying homemade baguettes now! And about having the confidence… totally feel that! I still fail horribly at many recipes and things but it allows me to learn.
Finally made baguettes yesterday. I used a baguette pan with the little holes. The top browned so much faster. I’ll have to flip n rotate next time. Love your videos!
I loved this episode Marloes! I am so happy you got some rain, we are expecting some in Provence this weekend and I’m hoping it stays that way! Watching you guys live this slower paced life in the country is something I long for and hope I can convince Paul one day to take the leap 😉
"......we wanted to live close to Nature, feel the change of the season...." I get that 🙂 I grew up on a medium sized ranch in the upper midwest of USA. Now we live on 2 acres that came with an orchard and a vineyard, very close to a mid-sized city. We have the advantages of 'being close to town' with all the shopping needs but every day is a "close to Nature" day too. One can actually have both. Easier life now? In some ways yes, but to care for all the fruit trees, the vines, etc. is more work than living in our previous "in-town" homes. There is a balance: It doesn't have to be one or the other😉 Will have to check out more of your vlogs....interesting seeing a small country home in France.. Love watching chateau videos but your vlog has something akin to the way we live in our home...which btw, does resemble a French stone cottage 🥰
thanks! I just watched your last video! Loved it and love the idea of the Bed, Breakfast & Brocante! Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with the kitchen! The vineyards have had a hard time. It’s been too dry. And on the other hand we had heavy rains and hail in some that needed some kind of treatment afterwards. It is a delicate thing… But as far as I can tell from what I see being shared the harvest is going great for most!
Hi Marlous, weer een fijne relaxte video. Dankjewel.
Al doende leert men…
Bonjour !!
Are people there allowed to drill wells for water for crops and yards to have water during the drought? I see you collect the rain water for your plants.

Lovely Marloes 😊 your simple life videos are always a pleasure. Thank you 💕

Hard work yes, put a peaceful life, one where there are church bells ringing and nature surrounds you . Normandy sounds like a lovely trip.
Rain, in moderation is a wonderful gift of nature!
You guys are doing a great job. Love your journey ❤️🍷

I love your videos. They are so calming and serene.

Thanks for the burger recipe! I’m always looking for vegetarian options! Can’t wait to try this one!
You're welcome! Let me know when you've tried it!
The flower in English (Canada) is called a Sedum. mine ar at the same stage as yours. one of my favourite fall flowers. Cheers.

Lovely sharing, hoorah you got rain, we've also had a very dry summer, not much rain! What type of bread do you make, it looks delicious!

Yes we are not remote either and have several big cities close by which feels like having the best of both worlds!
I hope our last days of scorcher has ended, enjoy the change in seasons. Have the vineyards benefited from the heat waves or has it been too much?

You could have shreddered the rest of the green gums. Then use either to mulch flower beds, compost or even burn
Yes we did that with part of it!

Yes many old farmhouses have a well. Not sure if you can drill one… and in dry periods you also aren’t always allowed to use them.
