Thanks for being upfront about how you were allowed to keep these watches for your review; unlike a certain other RUclipsr in his recent review of another brand.
Hey! Thanks for the superchat. You didn't have to do that. But I appreciate it 🙏 I've disclosed every free watch I've ever received on the channel. I certainly wouldn't watch someone if they didn't. It's not only illegal not to, but also highly immoral. If you find someone doing it, you should definitely call them out for it!
@@TopTierTicker I don't have proof it was a paid review, just a very strong suspicion, that's why I didn't name the RUclipsr. I also noticed that numerous people had asked him in the comments whether he was paid or received "freebies" for the review, and he didn't answer any of them.
I certainly don’t think they are underrated but they are what they are - fun bits of art. They’re VERY London/Brighton if you know what I mean… …so no good for a country bumpkin like myself. 😂 I have been soooo close to pulling the trigger but for (exactly as you’ve pointed out), the case (lugs mostly) is just not my cup of skinny decaf. British watchmaking is a much better place with MJW and long may they continue doing what they do without ever selling out unlike other British brands…
I'm personally a fan of the number cruncher model, definitely a fun piece. Also I noticed Tom fletcher from mcfly wears Mr Jones watches. I spotted them on the voice.
I own three as a small part of a very large collection. I don't think they are underestimated but they are a bit niche. As long as they keep their prices where they are I think they will do well. The new watch with the Christopher Ward jumping hour movement at £2.5K is way beyond what I would pay.
Thanks Rik mate! Hope you've had a good Christmas and new year! Mr Jones is a really fun watch brand. One of the best when it comes to colour! Happy new year mate 🙏
Happy new year Kieron! Hope 2025 is an awesome year for you! I love MJ watches! They are quirky and fun and always interesting! I love that move and son dial! I would love to actually see how they make these if I get to London one day! The Ricochet is awesome too! I think the cases are simply to showcase the art on thee dial. Maybe they view it as a blank slate. Who know haha! Take care man and have a great weekend!
Love Mr Jones Watches. My wife gifted me one for our anniversary just before Christmas. It was the "Perfectly Useless Morning". My wife's favorite. I have loved Sun and Moon. My next choice.
Love Mr. Jones watches! Scored a Sun & Moon Miyamoto 70/100 in a thrift store, was gifted a Mispoes! for Christmas, and scooped The Last Laugh from a FB group!
My son has the whale diving model. It’s not really that great, quality-wise, but it’s enormous fun and very affordable. It’s certainly higher quality than a Swatch or many ‘toy’ watches. He works at a children’s science and zoological museum and so it suits him perfectly. Isn’t that what a watch is about, after all?
I love Mr Jones watches, in fact I own both the Sun & Moon as well as the Ricochet and a Mare Adesso in blue. They are so much fun to look at and I especially like to wear them on days I am not working since they are so playful and one won't get to read the time down to the minute, which adds to the relaxed attitude. I also am not a big fan of the case shape and I would love if they could use a bit more of a traditional one, in particular I don't like the thin lugs. Regarding the Ricochet, one of the details that I find most attractive is the way the robots are created. Two gold foils as well as a palladium foil are used and it looks so nice and as you said, one can see them at any angle. The way of showing the time as in the Sun & Moon seems to have been quite popular in pocket watches of the 18th century. Last, not least they have a great team, the communication is great, delivery has been perfect and they even sent me a very nice Christmas card. Btw. this is not a sponsored ad, it's just that I had a very good experience and I wish them to have even more success because they are doing something very special.
I have 4 and love them. The black friday sale is the best time to jump on one as they're usually 40 to 50% off which i feel is more in line with what the price should be
I agree with you as this was my thought but I couldn’t stop buying my number cruncher and swapped in a matching colour nato and the lugs look fine now. Love my mjw and one I wear more than watching costing many times more.
Interesting. But a bit pricey for a novelty watch. I clicked on their website vintage page. Very interesting stuff there. I would love a 1959 Rolex Oyster Perpetual. That's straight out of Ian Fleming's novel, On Her Majesty's Secret Service. And the movie too. But you only get a glimpse of it as James Bond uses it as brace knuckles.
Absolutely love MJW. Both artistically and horolgically interesting, fantastic customer service, and affordable. I have three of their pieces, including Ricochet. Can't say enough good things about them. Plus, their range of arts and limited releases really appeal to a collector mindset! (Maybe that's not a great thing...)
I’m not quite ready for something so untraditional, but I think they are fun and creative. These are like Richard Mille’s for normal folks. It’s more about the watch making a statement than telling the time. Again, very fun though! Thanks!
I was looking at Mr Jones the other day, they have some interesting watches for sure. I wish some of them were smaller though, the ones that feature the jump hour seagull movement are 37 but the ones that have the Sellita movements are 40 and with those lugs, they probably wear fairly big. My favorite is the one with the kingfisher, but that thing is like 43, I kind of wish they had a smaller version of it.
@TopTierTicker I appreciate it. They are interesting watches, and I felt it was a bit of a shame that I couldn't find one that I liked that would fit well.
Plastic movement rings are the norm in affordable watches. Crack open any sub $500 watch and you'll more than likely find one inside. They're the cheapest, lightest and safest way to hold a movement inside of a case. I'm sure some watch snobs frown upon it, but it's normal at this price. Compromises have to be made somewhere. Most brands choose to do it in the places that aren't on show :)
@@TopTierTicker Thank you so much for your thoughtful and well-crafted reply! You should have your own youtube channel! 😉 Joking aside, thanks very much, I learned something.
I hate that sometimes they do limited editions and they run out very fast. I had my eyes on their time wise unfortunately I came late and couldn’t get my hands on one.
As you know, I have a Mr Jones, and I love the dial designs. You have to be careful though, as some will turn you into a 2 watch w⚓️. I have a Blueberry Late and need 2 watches because people ask how it works. You show them and then have to set the watch to the correct time again, there's several designs that this applies to. Happy New Year, and build that bloody Spitfire.
Wow! Thank you for highlighting these. Looking at their web site, I was amazed with the art and choices...especially the model named: The Accurate. I have been involved with discussions about time and our eventual personal _expiration_ with several of my students. I think I might have to order that model just for the conversational aspects. LOL Sir, I greatly appreciate your efforts and wish you a most wonderful new year! (Edit: After posting this, I ordered one and the process was as quick and easy as possible. Thank you again!)
Thank you for watching! Great choice with The Accurate. Sounds like it will indeed come to great use. Thank you for your support and a huge happy new year to you too. All the best for 2025 my friend 🙏
As you know I got to see five of these at once. I really like these. And for the generations coming up that can’t read an analogue clock these jump hour mechanisms get them interested in watches. Great video!
That's a great point too! Could be a great way to get youngsters into watches! I hope everyone is enjoying their Mr Jones Watches! I'm certainly enjoying my Sun & Moon 🙏
Absolute nonsense. So many big brands do this, and no one bats an eyelid. Bulova, Citizen, Seiko, and try buying one of them for less than 300. Did you not get what you wrote on your list this Christmas?

I get what you mean. But some watches are more fun than others. Some watches are made to put smiles on faces. This is one of those brands that draws a smile no matter age, gender or interests :)
