The first product probably contains sodium percarbonate (an oxygen bleach) which can be bought undiluted from a home brewers supply shop cheaply. 100g to 1L hot water and apply. The second cleaning product contains oxalic acid an organic acid which is sold to clean rust stains and as a timber restorer/lightener, and also can be purchased concentrated pretty cheaply. Definitely use gloves and goggles or face shield when applying. That gel probably is a safer way to apply oxalic acid because it won’t splash like a normal liquid mix.

Was thinking, wouldn't oxalic acid do this? It's cheap as chips. Thank you.

Keep in mind that deck oils don't actually oil your deck. All of the solvent/oil evaporates, leaving plastic pigments and UV protection which remain close to the surface. Plant based oils like linseed oil stains are the only product that penetrates and fills the wood pores.

Just purchased all three products in this video, can you use the cleaners on a external shed as well to get rid of surface black spots of mildue /mould?

Many thanks for purchasing these products.
Yes these cleaners can be used on other surfaces although we would recommend trying to get rid of the surface mould ahead of using them as they designed to really penetrate into the wood to clean and bring back original colour and the mould will act as a bit of a barrier to that happening.
Also we would recommend protecting plants if you have some nearby your shed.

@@WoodFinishesDirect do you recomend a mould remover? Also i saw on the video that the 2.5L comes with a scrubing brush so i purchased the 5L thinking it would come with one and it didnt.

For the mould, this from Barrettine is pretty good - www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/barrettine-fungicidal-wash-multicide
That said, try a test area with the Osmo Power Gel as it's quite powerful. You might be able do both the cleaning and reviving in one go allowing you to knock out a stage of the process.
And as for the brush, please see this note on the product page -
Please Note: This product is only suitable for bare wood or wood that has not been oiled for a number of years.
Osmo Wood Reviver Gel is also available as part of the Osmo Garden Furniture Maintenance Kit.
Only the 2.5L container is supplied with the Osmo Deck Cleaning Brush.

Thanks very much for purchasing those extra bits.
A word of advice, please wait for some drier weather before doing this job. No doubt like here, the weather has been vile so all outside wood is very wet at the moment and not just on the surface.
Firstly, if you attempt to clean, the moisture in the wood will be diluting the power of the products. And secondly, you were then to treat the areas with the decking oil you'd be sealing in moisture deeper in the wood which would eventually want to escape messing up your finish.
If you can, hold off until there is a definite smell of spring in the air. 👍🏻
