Nice info. Both on spark plug and throttle body. But I’m a stickler for cleanliness. I completely cleaned The Whole inside of my engine compartment before doing any maintenance
@@noelramirez7949 ; Im not a mechanic, but I believe you should first remove the battery cables, at least the negative cable. After your done cleaning and replacing everything, reconnect the battery. The process of reconnecting the battery will reset as necessary.
Thanks for the video as my 2015 5.0 threw a wrench on the dash display. I bought the truck used and wonder if Sea foam should be used first to clean out the rest of the engine. Thanks for any help, I'm on to your spark plug video.
Anyone in the vid or comment section who can answer it would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2009 F-150 that has been stalling while driving. A mechanic in another video said Ford had switched canister purge valves in 2009 and it causes them to stall out. So, I had my mechanic put a new one in. A few days later it stalled out again. I don't lose power and it does start after 3 or 4 tries. Does anyone know what else it could be? Could it be a dirty throttle body or something else? Thank you.
Can you remove the throttle body by just removing the housing right where the throttle body starts or do you actually need to remove the air intake for space to work?
Be very careful with the throttle body. The electronics are kind of finicky. I’m not saying you shouldn’t clean your throttle body either. I’m just recommending people be careful and gentle with it. It’s not a carb for a 1972 F-100.
Yup. 8mm sockets, not 5/16th, AND those throttle bodies are calibrated at factory and messing around clicking that thing everywhere back and forth like that while cleaning is no good. Like you said man, this ain't a 1972 f100. It's not 100% mechanical anymore and this video showed me How NOT To Do It Right haha
@@dallasharris8753 I get 17-18MPG on my 2014 5.0. I keep my oil changes and air filter changes up to date and once a while I clean my throttle body and MAF sensors. Remember your mileage improvement is a combination of all these things.
Frank Gonzales normally you would not need to change it. I have not seen those go bad and when they do I believe it should give you an engine light with an error code. You should be able to troubleshoot it. Stop at video time 1:45 and from here on start the car and have someone press on gas. The flap should open up to rev the engine basically allowing more air to go into engine with flap opening.
As alway cool video,
Thanks Pete
The fart at 10:53 though lmao 🤣
Haha had to do it man. Forgot to edit 😂
😅😅😅
BRUH 😂
I knew I wasn’t tripping lmao 😅

It’s always good to clean
Thank you for the easy to understand instructions. Got mine done on my 2015. Took care of the hard start and rough idle.
Did you had to re learn the throttle body ? I’ve heard if you disconnect it you have to program it

No plug and play. When it's plugged back in. Mine just ran smooth again with no stumbling.
Thank you for this video!🙏🏻 just did this on my 16 f150 and it took less than an hour! (Not a mechanic by any means)

Perfect video for relaxing educational and the birds chirping 🐦 excellent for a diy mechanic and bird lover
Cheers from Canada 🍁
Many thanks
Beautiful background sounds 👌
Haha
Great video. Birds are pretty too
I noticed mine needed cleaning also. Thank you for posting.

Bro I’m in the literal same exact situation I just got some sea foam about to do the throttle body. Threw a multiple misfire code
Those bolts you said use 5/16" socket are 8mm, there's only metric hardware on that engine
Bill P I used 5/16 and they worked fine
5/16ths is the same as 8mm
There is minor difference
I dig the fart sound at 10:53! 😂
Haha
would this be a good project to take on for a beginner?
Definitely much easier than you think. Go for it.

SmartyThe Pants I would definitely try with cleaning out the throttle body. You may have a stuck throttle body due to contamination.
Great video, Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Birds never pissed me off till I tried to watch someone clean a throttle body on RUclips
Huh?
@@HowToDoitright the birds in the background lol

You need to remove the air intake. It’s all connected
@@HowToDoitright Thank you. I appreciate your help, I was able to get it done with very little issues.
Gotta remove the intake and the 2 connectors and you’ll have access to it

10:53 giving the old Ford some gas!
Haha true
😂😂😂
I have a 2013 ford 150 how often should i clean the throttle body
30-50k depends on condition and environment you drive in and how often you change your air filter
i heard that nice one
I heard the barking spider
Haha
Awesome video, thanks.

Did that improve gas-mileage? By how much?
Yes it did. Depends on how bad your mileage is.
