Autumn is good there when the foliage is almost non-existent and the ground isnt quite frozen yet. Further east to the hydro canal lots of beautiful minerals there aswell.

Great finds Jeff, the hill there also used to be the city dump for a time. That airplane used to hold candy and is probably from the 60's. Should have called me up, could have met up with you.
I am never disappointed when I visit these parts, always a crystal treasure to find. I still treasure my quarter sized sphalerites
I have a few nice ones and a few iridescent rainbow ones.
Found some beauties there in the past. Great area. Love the sphalerites, fluorites and calcites there.
Its a good spot. I got a feeling they will be building soon on some of the dumps.

There seemed to be lots of old glass there, might be worth poking around in the dumps for treasure and not just crystals.
