Hey man I really appreciate you adding the fact that this may not be family friendly! My boyfriend and I have a 9month old and plan on having more children in the future so this may not be the right vehicle for us. Do you recommend a specific year of the Ford Fusion ?

Thanks for watching! Definitely not the right car for you! In fact, we learned this the hard way by having a baby and then traveling long distance in this several times as well as using it as a daily... The fuel mileage is sure attractive though!
We have a 15 Fusion now. Awesome cars, very smooth riding and probably twice as big as the focus. They feel safer and have plenty of room for car seats and the luggage of a family of four.
Now... The transmissions have the same issues as the focus... they're garbage, shake shudder, and will eventually need replaced at around $4k. From what I can find this affects Ford cars from 2011-2016 www.caranddriver.com/news/a27438193/ford-powershift-transmission-problems/
I can only recommend you look at getting a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord for a full-sized family sedan. They seem slightly more pricey than a fusion, but tend to be a lot more reliable and still very nice cars. Nissan Altimas / Maximas tend to be pretty nice and reliable as well. Biggest thing with any large purchase is do a lot of research. Pick what you want and then research the most common issues that particular model tends to have come up and what repairs can cost. Look at owner complaints and recommendations. Go on lots of test drives to see if you really like that car verse others. Finally Always get a pre-purchase inspection from a reputable mechanic on the actual vehicle you intend to purchase. All vehicles can and will have things break, some are just more reliable and cheaper to maintain and fix than others.
If you are set on a Ford Fusion, according to research the best years to buy are 2006-2009 and 2017-2020. www.copilotsearch.com/posts/which-year-model-of-ford-fusion-is-best/

A hot one in Wyoming? So a balmy 65 degrees?

Haha, well it does get about 140 degrees cooler in the winter than it is right now in the summer...

If you live somewhere where it never snows this might be a ok car. It's no good in the snow even with snow tires on it.

Great advice! Second this 100%. It's not horrendous, I mean it could be a dodge neon... but you have to remember these cars are tiny and very low to the ground.

@EYVOAuto You would never believe it! Went on a road trip to Wyoming and was stuck in snow outside Gillett on highway 90 3am in morning. 😂 Was driving my 2016 ford focus with 330k Miles . Yes had studded snow tires on .

While I miss the fuel economy of the Focus, I have to agree with you! I would only own another one of these cars if I could get it with the regular 2.0L (Not the ecoboost) and a manual transmission.
