Like, I don’t even recognize that voice anymore compared with my own today. I feel like, in that cover 3 years ago, I sang a very different song. It was simple, kinda sad and I sounded so lost and unsure of myself (because.. I was! haha.) Back then, I was the person who needed to HEAR this song. But today, I’m the person who can actually sing the song to the listener... If that makes any sense? I just feel like it’s indicative of how I’ve come into my own- developed a strong and more confident voice. I don’t hate the last cover, I feel like it needs to exist to make the follow-up have any kind of meaning. It’s special in its own way, and I’m super thrilled anyone can still enjoy it. thanks! I figured some people might feel that way. the way I like to view it... even listening to my old cover, to my own self, I sound so sad lmao. Like, I don’t even recognize that voice anymore compared with my own today. I feel like, in that cover 3 years ago, I sang a very different song. It was simple, kinda sad and I sounded so lost and unsure of myself (because.. I was! haha.) Back then, I was the person who needed to HEAR this song. But today, I’m the person who can actually sing the song to the listener... If that makes any sense? I just feel like it’s indicative of how I’ve come into my own- developed a strong and more confident voice. I don’t hate the last cover, I feel like it needs to exist to make the follow-up have any kind of meaning. It’s special in its own way, and I’m super thrilled anyone can still enjoy it.
