I was wondering why they remixed THIS of all things, then I realized they were going for all the games' OSTs where Kirby embraces his identity as a ball
This might as well be the “Dream Course” series considering that’s where it started, featuring but not limited to Dream Course, Canvas Curse, Rainbow Curse, Pinball Land, Brick Ball, and Dream Buffet.
"Alright HAL sound team, which classic song should we remix for the funny yummy cakey game?" "We should definitely go with the extremely chaotic final boss theme from one of the most unsettling fights in the series" "YES! ISHIKAWA, ARE YOU WRITING THIS DOWN?!"
I’m surprised Drawcia Soul’s theme wasn’t remixed anytime before. Considering not only was she the first soul boss, (and admittedly the most terrifying one) but her moveset is shared with mostly every other Soul boss besides maybe Star Dream Soul OS
It actually was remixed in The Sound of Kirby Cafe, which this very arrangement is based on! It appears in "Rendezvous of the King and the Witches" specifically.
HAL Laboratories, during development of Dream Buffet: Kumazaki: "Ok, so... we are gonna do a lot of remixes from pretty much every game in the series, what do you suggest?" Some random guy: "Gourmet Race?" Kumazaki: "Of course, we keep remixing Gourmet Race but this is the time where it's really called for." Some other guy again: "What about that really obscure track from Block Ball?" Kumazaki: "I like it, put it in, but we need something for the last mini game of the bunch." Some really smart guy: "Drawcia Soul sir?" Kumazaki: "You're a goddamn genius."
I see the vision, but this legitimately doesn't sound good to me at all. It sounds really off beat. I noticed a similar issue with this game's rendition of the Super Ability theme where it almost skips over itself because it's going so fast. I'm a huge Kirby fan and feel like they dropped the ball with those two tracks. Every other track in this game is fine though.

The idea here is a lot of songs are remixed from games where Kirby is just a ball, including Canvas Curse
Ah yes, Drawcia Soul. The perfect track to remix for the funny cake racing game.
Sounds more like a cartoonish chase scene than a hectic boss battle against a deranged blob of paint
Ah yes the abilities of remixes
Yeah, they definitely made it a little less terrifying.
I always wondered what this would be like with less... computations.
And less telephone dialing.
It's nice to hear this song without it sounding like you're having a severe anxiety attack.

At least Star Dream got Shooter Cutter. Poor Magolor got no Soul-boss based attacks.
i like to call that bouncing-in-the-background move (y’know the one) the “Dark Matter Splatter”

@@ie2304 Star Dream had that burning charge for shmup mode, does it count?
@@mslabo102s2 Wikirby doesn’t list Star Dream as using Deadly Sun itself, but Thermal Module, the attack described, does seem awfully similar
Finally a Drawcia remix
Seems it's inspired by the Kirby Café version
Despite it being the theme of one of the more creepy Kirby final bosses, this remix fits the fast paced feel of the minigames really well!
This version was heavily inspired from the Kirby Cafe version, wich is really fitting IMO. Good remix
no drawcia screaming at the beginning 0/10
I like to imagine these banger remixes are just triggering some nasty PTSD for Kirby. Then again, he willfully becomes a ball in this game so…
I recognized this song instantaneously
Back then, Canvas Curse was my first ever Kirby game. Let that sink in how this felt for me
"Canvas Curse was your first. IT SCARRED YOU FOR LIFE!"
- Toxic Pea
OMG ITS BACK OMG ITS BACK
Fitting because this game can get very hectic
This is in fact a remix from a segment from the Vol. 1 Kirby Cafe OST
Yeah, I liked that callback to the cafe version
Still hectic, but not TERRIFYING

Kirby Canvas Curse 2 looks great!
Technically it’s Canvas Curse 3 considering Rainbow Curse exists
Make it canvas curse 5
canvas curse 1: pinball land
canvas curse 2: dream course
canvas curse 3: tilt n tumble
canvas curse 4: canvas curse
canvas curse 5: rainbow curse
canvas curse 6: dream buffet
Kirbys dream buffet: Damn, dance babe! DANCEEE! ୧( ˵ ° ~ ° ˵ )୨
Kirby Canvas course: God, please help 💀💀💀

I didn’t even know this was a Drawcias Soul remix
What's next, a remix of "World of Drawcia"

Lmao! Great remix from another Kirby spinoff where he's a ball.
THIS IS DRAWCIA SOUL???????? i did NOT pick up on that holy shit
Ironic that they made this theme sound more goofy and cartoonish
I love this remix. :)
It kinda sounds like chase music… (Well, technically it is??)
Did they just hired cuphead music staff??
Bro what?
