Ironically, the amount of pain Drawcia goes through during this fight is making ME feel like the villain, and that's saying something considering the gruesome and bitter ends of some other bosses in this series.
I agree with that feeling, what Drawcia did to Dreamland was not good at all, but we can't forget that Dreamland also hated her a lot for some reason to the point she became a crazy living being just to get revenge for her suffering, so what they did to her was not good either. It's almost like what happened to void termina and Zero in a way, Drawcia was not a villain, she became one thanks to the bad energy she got from everyone around her, which is not fair in her eyes. She's a villain, but her motive is a strong one, to be honest. She also saw the fact she was in a game, that had to be even worse for her and her situation of madness, to the point she tries to attack the player and screams in their face with all the rage and despair she's feeling. Almost begging to the player to let her win. Her death is also too cruel, again, I get it, she was a villain, but if she received love instead of hate in the past, she would have never been this bad in the first place. Instead, we got to see her last living moments in absolute terror, before being shattered forever.
Fun Fact: Drawcia Soul's background is a mix of Parralax Scrolling and a wave effect to give it its distorted look. Another thing, While Drawcia Sorceress uses a sprite, Drawcia Soul is... very odd in the fact that the sprites which make up her sprites only make up the aura around herself, the circle body actually acts more like a textures which is rapidly moving on a circle model. Creepy! Honestly I love Drawcia Soul's theme. I love compared to all the other final bosses how glitchy and broken it sounds.
I Love this fight because it plays with two big factors of the game presentation wise: The Backgrounds and the Music. For the entirety of Canvas Curse, you’re listening to some original Kirby music, Such as Gourmet Race or Bubbly Clouds, but now the tracks are Remixed in Techno Style. The Backgrounds also continue to vary throughout the game. Whether it be a Cartoony City or a Fingerpainted wildland, obviously enforcing the Art/Color theme of the game But what do you get when you fight Drawcia Soul? The Techno SoundTrack is now nothing but an assortment of beeps and blips, and the colorful background is gone, now being replaced with a grayish mess of swirling pixels (That Turns Dark Purple when Drawcia is at half health. And Dark Purple is actually considered to represent frustration or anger) Additionally, In this You have a mini map on the top screen that can help guide you through the various stages. But not here. It to, is just a mess of static, and every time you hit Drawcia Soul, The Redder the static gets In other words, When Drawcia becomes her soul form, Her mind is gone, it’s filled with nothing but hatred and anger now. And with her mind turning to nothing but negative emotion, Her Entire world falls apart
Actually I don’t think she is filled with anger/hatred she, when you defeat her normally is in a crazy like state she is thinking irrationally and completely out of touch she was the one who chose to transform into this by fusing with her cloak and you can tell by her transition laugh when she seems to lose her mind I played canvas curse and that’s what I think so I repeat I don’t think she is angry or hateful but just simply crazy

It’s also strange considering the fact that some spinoff Kirby games are deemed canon so they could’ve put in Dracia, also Dark Meta Knight played a part in Dark Kirby being scrapped from the game. And for Elline I honestly dont know. Hyness was also scrapped sadly but everyone knew about that before the interview.

Few dared to speak of such a chaotic entity and the similar fiends it spawned, its characteristic music evoking the pure chaos of a maddened mind. Yet you not only overcame the dissonant chords of the distorted SOUL, you replicated them in mortal devices, the frantic notes mimicking the battlefield’s music of the battle between Kirby and the Paint Witch. Awesome
Other Soul Bosses: basically they're the base boss except stronger and a few design differences, they're pretty cool i guess Drawcia Soul: SENTIENT ORB THAT SCREAMS AT YOU
Jason Adjiwanou breaking the 4th wall by staring at you at the screen and sometimes teleporting to be directly in front of you (in the way that blocks your view of Kirby) and you have to hit her. And many of her attacks go for the screen. Ripping herself apart because of the soul boss attack where they explode and pieces of themselves fall down like rain since you know she invented that Meta.
Well on canvas curse you play as the paintbrush not Kirby and drawcia knew how powerful Kirby was and stripped him off his limbs but you the player are the magical paintbrush that accompanies him on the journey
Well, color me 200.0% impressed cause holy hell, you remixed what is basically a trip and a half of ABSOLUTE CHAOS in music form and somehow, it just works. Also noticed a few sounds you used for W.D. Gaster were used here too. Bravo, good sir, bravo.

when i hear this i keep thinking of a final boss that's not insane in the violent, mindless sense that most kirby final bosses are, but insane in a calm, distant, but absolutely furious way, as if all their plans had been laid to waste and there is nothing left for them to do but take kirby down with them --not unlike fecto forgo--

It rivaled the tonal shift when the somber chords of the Final Four in Super Star Ultra announced its own four horsemen. Side note, if we ignore 0², this is the only canonical Soul Boss, and I'm not sure what to think about that. A blessing, or yet another curse we need a developer's brush to mend?

Also you forgot Magalor Soul, which while not Magalor's soul itself absolutely counts due to its similarities in design to Drawcia Soul as well as due to the Crown being implied to be alive with how it moves and have a soul of its own. There's also Sectonia Soul, not to be confused with Soul of Sectonia. Sectonia Soul is the fight where Moonstruck Blossom plays, while Soul of Sectonia is the final phase in the arena fight. Edit: got the sectonia soul thing wrong. I still stand by Magalor Soul being the soul of the crown itself granting Magalor's unconscious husk limitless power and causing him to lose control as a result since that crown is absolutely alive.

(nice reply btw): 0² is an undead boss that returns just to cause pain and maybe revenge, with a suspicious disappearance of a related character around the same time offering that some shady event could have occurred for 0 to absorb something to return, particularly when his one face resembles said someone. That sounds a lot like other guys who become Soul bosses. 0² was invented before Soul bosses, but as with them being canonical during Drawcia's time, them being unlabeled during 0² is just a step on the road to their final, mentioned, non-canonical template. There's no direct proof, but the similarities are there enough for me to accept the headcanon of 0² being the first of the Souls at least, even if it isn't spelt out for us. Soul of Sectonia is her form after eating Miracle Fruits, and has the flower phase and a new one. The title is the same. You are almost right about Magolor Soul. It _is_ all the Crown. There's actually _nothing_ left of Magolor by the time you duel his "Soul" (his actual soul is fought in his _red and blue_ orb form). The Soul's description reveals that it's only the Crown, which needs to emulate Magolor's form so it can battle, the last known form of him being his own Soul. Basically, Magolor's soul is the other orb, whose form the Crown recalls to assume its own body for its Soul phase. However, while Drawcia (and 0², depending on your take) are canon, the other Soul bosses aren't because they aren't directly in the Story modes. There are obviously relations between the Souls since they all reflect their origin of Soul, Void, but that doesn't mean HAL accepts their official group thematics.
@@spidey5108 The problem with your theory of Zero absorbing Gooey is that Gooey is still around as an ally in star allies. Those are considered canon since you can still use them in the main story as well as they're given reasons as to why they're helping Kirby (for the most part., I'm looking at you Dark Meta Knight). On top of that, they also join you between each chapter, implying they're joining you during the events of the story after the news reaches them. This means that Zero Two can't have absorbed Gooey, since he's still around, same for why Marx Soul can't be considered main-timeline since he's still around as well. It's far more likely Zero-Two was just an unhappy resident of a neighboring planet (shiver star maybe?) or even one from Ripple Star itself than it is to be Gooey. I don't think anything you said disproves my theory on Magalor Soul being canonically a soul boss, however the reason I don't believe the first phase is a soul boss is due to the fact he's still got complete control over the Paradise Starcutter in another dimension, seeing as the Soul form wouldnt have any idea how to operate the vessel and only Magalor could due to his research on the Ancients.

I said that Magolor's Soul was the red and blue _orb._ You know, the one you fight after Magolor's first phase? Thought I made that pretty clear. The Crown as Magolor Soul is certainly a Soul boss. However, exclusive to EX mode and the True Arena, it ain't canon. I think Magolor's soul is fought earlier, but doesn't qualify as a Soul boss even when it's canonical because it isn't fought in revenge or drawing on energy to revive like the Crown's Soul does.

0² is an undead boss that returns just to cause pain and maybe revenge, with a suspicious disappearance of a related character around the same time offering that some shady event could have occurred for 0 to absorb something to return, particularly when his one face resembles said someone. That sounds a lot like other guys who become Soul bosses. 0² was invented before Soul bosses, but as with them being canonical during Drawcia's time, them being unlabeled during 0² is just a step on the road to their final, mentioned, non-canonical template. There's no direct proof, but the similarities are there enough for me to accept the headcanon of 0² being the first of the Souls at least, even if it isn't spelt out for us.
Soul of Sectonia is her form after eating Miracle Fruits, and has the flower phase and a new one. The title is the same.
You are almost right about Magolor Soul. It _is_ all the Crown. There's actually _nothing_ left of Magolor by the time you duel his "Soul" (his actual soul is fought in his _red and blue_ orb form). The Soul's description reveals that it's only the Crown, which needs to emulate Magolor's form so it can battle, the last known form of him being his own Soul. Basically, Magolor's soul is the other orb, whose form the Crown recalls to assume its own body for its Soul phase.
However, while Drawcia (and 0², depending on your take) are canon, the other Soul bosses aren't because they aren't directly in the Story modes. There are obviously relations between the Souls since they all reflect their origin of Soul, Void, but that doesn't mean HAL accepts their official group thematics.
@@spidey5108 The problem with your theory of Zero absorbing Gooey is that Gooey is still around as an ally in star allies. Those are considered canon since you can still use them in the main story as well as they're given reasons as to why they're helping Kirby (for the most part., I'm looking at you Dark Meta Knight). On top of that, they also join you between each chapter, implying they're joining you during the events of the story after the news reaches them. This means that Zero Two can't have absorbed Gooey, since he's still around, same for why Marx Soul can't be considered main-timeline since he's still around as well. It's far more likely Zero-Two was just an unhappy resident of a neighboring planet (shiver star maybe?) or even one from Ripple Star itself than it is to be Gooey.
I don't think anything you said disproves my theory on Magalor Soul being canonically a soul boss, however the reason I don't believe the first phase is a soul boss is due to the fact he's still got complete control over the Paradise Starcutter in another dimension, seeing as the Soul form wouldnt have any idea how to operate the vessel and only Magalor could due to his research on the Ancients.

_Please_ don't refer to 0²'s typo from his 64 description. He's definitely what's left of 0, officially being a Soul Boss or not. Really, Gooey could still be alive and I _still_ consider him one in spirit. I never said 0² _had_ to be Goeey, let alone that he'd _fully_ be Gooey.
Also, no _way_ was Mag's soul controlling the Lor Starcutter during its fight with Landia. I said that Magolor's Soul was the red and blue _orb._ You know, the one you fight after Magolor's first phase? Thought I made that pretty clear.
The Crown as Magolor Soul is certainly a Soul boss. However, exclusive to EX mode and the True Arena, it ain't canon. I think Magolor's soul is fought earlier, but doesn't qualify as a Soul boss even when it's canonical because it isn't fought in revenge or drawing on energy to revive like the Crown's Soul does.
