Your camera movement was a little intense, but aside from that, your unboxing was very informative, clear, and helpful. :) A few quick questions though if you don't mind. I'm looking to upgrade to the AT-LP120, and the Pioneer plx500 is nearly a mirror image of it. Have you noticed any issues with the anti-skate? Have you tried putting the tonearm down onto a flat vinyl to see if it skates toward or away from the spindle? I'm very concerned about anti-skate issues right now with the LP120. I've heard more people having issues than those who aren't, so I'm shopping around and this one does look nice. How's the strength of the motor? When you start and stop it, is it an immediate start and halt, or is it a gradual start and stop? Also, you mentioned that it's metal, but your closeup of the back really looked plastic. Is the entire chassis made out of metal? I figured the turntable would be all the more pricy if it was entirely metal, but this one seems to be priced pretty good.
Dude, have you scratched with it yet? And would you say it's scratchability & motor torque is horrible , ok , or on point with no flaws? I know you said a full review is coming out but I NEED a sneak review since I'm interested in purchasing one. Thanks for the video there's literally no other reviews out there yet, well none in English
Yes!! It's good for DJs learning how to scratch...but you'll notice right away coming from a 1200 or PLX-1000 that theres significantly less torque in the motor. I'll have a full review coming up in a few days.
hey congrats on new purchase check the tine arm height adjuster locking mechanism ..... whether its in the lock or unlock position the height adjuster still rotates
So it has less torque than the 1,200? I've been trying to get this question answer for a long time. It seems like the first thing people should talk about but nobody has made a video about it. What's your opinion on the torque compared to the 1200? I just ordered one of these and I hope it at least has enough torque to enjoy
what would people pick if they had to choose between this Pioneer plx500 og the audio-technica 120 ? we are talking about looks, how strong the motor is, how good the picth is and what of the two is the best if you also want to cut ? :-) hope people out there will give some input :-)
This is the same basic OEM model like my Reloop RP-2000. Just some cosmetical differences. But for that money a lot of turntable, but I am using mine only for hifi listening. So cannot comment on DJ things.
I really would like to get these to start djing on (i'm a beginner) What kind of mixer would I get with this and how would I hook it up to play through Serato or Virtual DJ?
I am considering buying a pair of these Vinyl Decks myself soon, and when i do i would go for the Pioneer DJM 450 to accompany them, as they would be a perfect match together. The mixer comes with Recordbox DJ (£99) and the DVS (£79) upgrade for £599. £1197 for all three units is spot on for price range and a very complete, both vinly and DVS set up :D.
True but just pointing out that the information in the video is incorrect in case people go buy expecting it to be a better build than it is. I found these to be much lower build quality than my old Stanton t120's that I bought 10 years ago for around the same price. You're right though I realised that if I wanted professional turntables I was gonna have to invest a little more so I sent these back and saved up for the PLX-1000's and I have no complaints with them whatsoever, great build quality on par with technics. I'd highly recommend anyone considering the pix-500's to save a few hunderd extra (maybe even only £100 extra each if buying 2nd hand), the difference in quality between the pix-500 and 1000's is much greater than the difference in price.
They both share same motor and same tonearm but LP120 has also got quartz lock function (important for audiophiles because mains frequency might vary), pitch range selection 10%/20% and reverse. Right.. and its also bit cheaper.
the cameraman has parkinson
🤣
Would be cool w a vid that actually shows how to adjust the tonearm and weight for the stylus That what would be real helpful
I notice on these videos, some owners are so rough with their tables. Jabbing buttons....

DJ Samir allegedly, the plx-1000 has more torque than the 1200s
HMAPODACA it does, 4.5 kg startup. I had a plx 1000....total crap
I think this is a good choice !
hey
congrats on new purchase
check the tine arm height adjuster locking mechanism .....

have any type of motor humming or noise with the PLX-500?

akiyama acura o pioneer plx 500??? for scratch

When full rev mate? Realy looking forward to it. Thx for video. Well done.
One more thing Samir those rca cables are they permanently attached to the turntables or is there a port under under the turntable
Thanks bruh
permanently fixed.

WOWQueen akai amx works with both serato & vdj
are you going full on vinyl, mixing with records or timecode?

More info on this than most Pioneer vids
be still!!
halo, which cartridge has the plx 500?
looks generic no name,
Just sent this Turntable back, motor NOT strong at all
Huh? It's not metal at all, it's all plastic. I'm actually a bit dissapointed with the build quality.
yeah its really sad that it's all made of plastic. but what to expect my dude, its just $400 turntable

You a DJ?
Damn now you have PIONEER is copying the Technics SL-1200 MK2 BUT the Pioneer does not have the quality of the Technics SL-1200 MK2
MK2 owners are no joke
sound lab
It's the same OEM audio technica turntable at lp120
Actually Audiotechnica LP120 is much much better. AT120 specs are almost the same as PLX 1000, but plx 500 is far away from these specs.
matrixplace you talk about at 1240 do not atlp120 the at1240 have the best motor than plx500 is the same plx1000
They both share same motor and same tonearm but LP120 has also got quartz lock function (important for audiophiles because mains frequency might vary), pitch range selection 10%/20% and reverse. Right.. and its also bit cheaper.
i know - plastic - i bought one and took it straight back ... Rubbish -
All metal 😂😂😂😂😂
