The song was written and sung by Ghulam Ali sir from Pakistan. (Born 1940, undivided India). In the 1950s, 60s and 70s his ghazals were used in many Bollywood movies and he used to visit India to meet his family and also conducted his concerts regularly in Bombay, Madras, Calcutta, Lucknow, Agra and Delhi. After 2015, he has reduced India visits because there were protests by shiv sena. He has said that he is older than India and Pakistan, and from his perspective all these politics and religious fights are meaningless and shameful. You can imagine what is in the mind of someone who was born before and supersedes the idea of India and Pakistan as we now know. He has said that he will visit India again and perform when the situation gets better and he has also said that his music should not be politicized. Great man. He is in his 80s now..
