The song PORTRAIT OF YOUTH (C)2006 is an original song written about the Renaissance painting by Raphael titled PORTRAIT OF YOUNG WOMAN WITH A UNICORN.
This Golden Legend really is something... I agree with the "legend" for sure, lol. If this indeed took place, it would be after the birth of Jesus and Joseph was already betrothed to Mary / informed he should stay that way... So what need for confirmation would there have been at any point? Maybe I'm missing something. Regardless, this is a beautiful piece. I'm curious who the ladies behind Mary were, but I suppose her friends or attendants of some kind? Maybe other young ladies looking to get married and see whose blossom blooms? It's sweet, like Dr. Harris said. I'm still waiting for my blooming blossom and wish there were so clear a signal. My heart goes out to the fellow breaking his branch, lol. The search is rough, so it is hard to lose a good catch.
One way to think about the Golden Legend is as akin to Hollywood movies of historical people. We know the basic outline of some events, but we want more details and so script writers oblige and invent scenes to fill in the gaps.
@@smarthistory-art-history That's a great metaphor. I'd just expect the filled-in details to fit the established main points rather than reinvent them.

Nicely explained..love it❤️
Beautiful!
I couldn't find the story of the marriage in the original text. In which of the 7 volumes is it?
