I saw BMTH support Lost Prophet's in 2007 at Hammersmith Apollo, I just couldn't get in their brand of metalcore, then my younger sister brought home their album Sempiternal 5 years later and I was absolutely blown away at the evolution of the band, they have been one of my favourite bands ever since, some friends got Oli to wish me Happy Birthday for my 50th two years ago, he was such a cool dude 😎🫶🏼

People love to hate on Bring Me's sound change, but forget that Oli was a middle class millennial growing up - and like other common millennials, our music tastes were shaped by a lot of what was on the radio,. The top 10 songs of any moment of the 2000s was really a mixed bag of different genres. He and the band are real artists, so what they listen to shapes and informs their writing even this far into their career. They truly can write whatever they want now at this point.
