I did one of your smaller versions just to try it out. I had to see it to believe it and it did work.
Nice solution! I am thinking about trying a couple of these at some low spots in my yard where water pools after rains.
This is exactly what I call a mini dry well… I install those all the time. They help a lot. Obviously it depends on the ground content as well.
I'm believing more and more that I can do it... thank you
love the video's please keep making one's on vertical drain's.
What's if there is standing water 1 foot from the ground level? We did this in a bigger version however when the water table is high the water takes days before it goes down 😢
That looks like a great idea but I noticed you have sandy soil will this work if the ground is mostly clay?
I live in Ohio and was told it was against ordinances to allow your washer to drain like this. We were told it had to drain into our sewer line and not into the yard where it could get into a stream.
Chuck you are Slicker than paps Ole Mule my Friend..Keep on Keepin On
Note for Canadians on septic, you MUST have the dish washer go into the septic UNLESS you install it in a grey water tank which you'll need from the local government. If you don't care like me I do something similar and it works good, even in my high water table area.

Is the fabric letting the water through easily ? Woven ?
I have an outflow pipe from my basement sump pump. There's usually a mushy puddle where the pipe comes out. This would work to control that!
A good solution for washer lint is pantyhose. Depending on how the outflow for the washer works you can capture it at the outflow into a utility sink, or right above the soakaway. Utility sink is obviously much easier to maintain over time.
When you say dig down to the water line or dig past the hard pan, is that the same as the frost line? Im in south Louisiana and my frost line is only about 9" down or so.
Originally you said to install milk crate right side up to catch lent but it appears in video you installed it upside down. Why the change?
Thanks. I have a box in the ground that is always getting filled up with soil. A contractor said I need to have 18 inches of rock on the surface of the ground going out from the box which really isn't very pretty. Should I put landscape fabric on top of the grate? I am in Atlanta, so I don't have sandy soil and I am a little confused about your video showing clay on top of landscape fabric, but I am not putting sod on top. Another question is I was thinking about putting a open trench to collect water coming off a hill that would go towards the catch basin since a lot of water goes from.that hill across concrete towards my pool deck which has a drain installed in the concrete. I have to take the cover off of it in a heavy rain because it gets debris blocking the grate and water does not quickly drain. This makes my pool deck get dirty all the time and occasionally gets dirty water into the pool. I am a 64 year old woman, and I probably can't do a bunch of digging, so I am trying to get a plan that will be the cheapest with a landscaper doing the work. This is in a mulched bed under trees, so if they build a trench, use gravel, put landscape fabric around the gravel, then do I put pine bark much over it or use river rock as they suggest. River rock is decorative, but expensive I think. Any advice is appreciated.
thumbs up
I don't know if this will work for me I live here in Minnesota
In our housing development we have a lot a lot of clay!!
Chuck, what is the product number from Lowe's for the sta green you show in the videos? Is it the 3 ' x 40 '? Does it look like the white fabric? Thanks.
Check Lowe’s
Best place to find StaGreen it’s actually green and it’s from recycled bottle cans. It works great
So does the water still puddle and slowly go down the vertical drains? Like how long would it usually take
An hour
Could this gray water be used to water a garden?

How many loads until it floods
It’s working so good
Is this why Florida has sinkholes?

3:30 You might want to contact the Vatican about that face in the dirt.
LOL
I’ll let you do that
lol I was wondering if I was the only one who saw that
i guess dont use the washer in the rain then? ground could be totally saturated no room for more water
No worries in the rain
