Ship out for 25u may 9th! Headed to Jackson and then Gordon for ait training. Hawaii was listed as my first assignment on my contract so I hope everything goes well! Thank you!!
My husband is 25U, but he is still in AIT. I have been doing a lot of research about where he could get stationed based off his MOS. Is it true that we could be stationed mostly in Fort Bragg, Germany, and/or South Korea? And can his first duty station be overseas, or would they have us stay here in America first and his next duty station could be overseas? And since his training is less than 20 weeks, will I be able to go with him to where his unit is, or will his dependents not be on those orders?
I got stuck with this MOS at MEPs after failing tape test, getting an ARMS waiver (resulting in me losing my chance to go to OCS). I also get to go to army fat camp for rejects over 1" of waistline. I'm not looking forward to training or serving in this MOS as I'm going to be stuck with it and never get to go to OCS.
@@day2daylogic802 I had hoped to be an intel officer. Because I'm joining with an ARMs waiver, I'm not eligible for any 35 series job. My state was severely undermanned in 25U, so I got stuck with it.
Yo brotha, appreciate the sound advice and general introduction. I ship off Nov. For Basic and eventually AIT for 25U. I originally wanted the 25B gig, but 25U was one of the handful of jobs I was hoping to nail. What general guidelines would you give someone going to AIT when it comes to the job? e.g.- study hard, take advantage of hands on learning activities etc. Thanks again and stay safe out there ✌🏽
Yeah I like 25B as an option for the civilian world, you will have access to certs. The 25U us in any unit. So my unit is an infantry unit so it's as high speed as a non high speed guy can get. Okay... So I'm not sure how basic will be now with everything going on. But I will say to bring mole skin, and some flexible tape like this www.amazon.com/3M-Nexcare-Absolute-Flexible-Waterproof/dp/B0096XYQ0M/ref=pd_sbs_33/135-3290409-8778846?pd_rd_w=i2Dt7&pf_rd_p=0f56f70f-21e6-4d11-bb4a-bcdb928a3c5a&pf_rd_r=GB5PK77EKRVW95EADXH1&pd_rd_r=8c5f7bac-8515-4555-b875-dfa25740c529&pd_rd_wg=dP5wm&pd_rd_i=B0096XYQ0M&psc=1. That's exactly what I bought. I would buy at least 3 or 4 for basic. Your feet most likely will get torn up. The best advice for AIT is to not get "held back". Stay out of trouble, don't drink, smoke, any of that stuff, stay in your room, get an xbox, a tv, and just chill. There's no reason to do anything crazy in AIT or basic. Because you want to get done ASAP so you can have the real fun and the real freedoms after you get to your unit.
Hey man, im about to enlist as a 25u and would like to know the best ways to get cert's. IS there anyway you could make a video or just fill me in on some good info on how to set myself up to get some?
If your active are there any different stipulations to either? If it’s EXACTLY the same, then you have to decide what you want to do in the civilian world. 25U, you can take that and get a SEC+ and work with computers and more tech related, 25H I would say is more suited for going an electrician route, maybe not EXACTLY. But for me, that’s what I would imagine in the civilian life for sure. If you wanna chat about it just let me know.
Wow it’s funny how I came across this video again. I just finished basic training at fort linden wood and I’m at fort Gordon now for ait. I am a 25 u. Lol
@@day2daylogic802 glad to hear. Wanted to get some security experience on top of learning this MOS/Networking. Hopefully signing with this MOS As soon as it’s available.

It will happen, not everything will stick. You will get on the job training, the sergeants know that when you get to your duty station. Don’t worry, everyone started somewhere.
