That impression of Uncle Ruckus was so freaking good😂
On point 💯
He's often good with the voices!
He is super talented lol
This was the first episode that actually made me kinda emotional. Huey realized he is just a kid and that the world really is a fucked up and unfair place. Seeing his character break and pray was beautifully sad.
That was definitely Huey cmon bro 😅
@@cjjackson2423 yea don't know why I said Riley my bad hahaha
Two males from the right are too comfortable Commentating about being black.
This episode is one of my fave. Funny, poignant , emotionally buetiful
The Uncle Ruckus impersonation by Suraj was SO DAMN SPOT ON I almost peed my pants watching it at work...FREAKING GOLD!!!!!
Seeing Marketa get emotional about Huey got me tearing up like i did the first time i watched this episode.
Definitely one of the show’s best.
Grandad who refuses to take interest in brother Shahbaz's plight will stay in the car and watch Friday.
13:53 I legitimately forgot that they foreshadowed it.
Thought I was on the wrong season for a minute fr 😂💀
That uncle ruckus impression was spot on ngl
As a black person, I declare that surge needs to speak in UR’s voice always lol, that was so damn good
Said it once and I’ll say it again. I think this is the only season that excels at blending comedy with such resonate emotional moments. I love this episode because it touches upon on deep themes such as faith, identity, injustice and self loathing. Also getting to see a more vulnerable side to the otherwise stoic and cynical Huey was pretty great.
We can all laugh at how utterly outrageous the character of Ruckus is depicted. But whose to say that some people don’t go about their lives with the same mentality, but are just better at hiding it? 😅 There goes the Boondocks again pointing a satirical but dark mirror at society. Brilliant season!!👍🏾
Oh definitely, the rest of the seasons are way more hilarious though 😂
I love Hueys part in this episode he's always been my favorite even back when I used to read the comic strip
The Passion of Reverend Ruckus" is a great episode. It's a smart and funny satire of racism and religious extremism, and it features some of the best writing and acting in the entire series."The Passion of Reverend Ruckus" is a masterpiece of American television. It's a must-watch for fans of The Boondocks and anyone who enjoys smart and funny social commentary.
Yay made it to season two. This next season is about to have some bangers.
13:57 "he's right. I hate Usher too!" foreshadowing
Suraj's Ruckus impression wasnt bad 😂😂😂
I'm really lucky to grow up where I grew up and when I grew up. We all knew the panthers, though they weren't taught much in school, The Panthers legacy was still strong in the city.
My US History class didn't even make it to the second half of the 20th century (and apparently that's not uncommon). And definitely didn't give us enough on the Reconstruction to understand why it was so important to understanding all the race stuff of the 20th century. I loved history as a subject, but am very disappointed how much they leave out. And yet still people freak out if you teach them 1/10 of the truth.
@@chrismiller7743 Reconstruction might be the most important period in American history and is by far the most under taught.
The operation's name "black steel" is likely named after the Public Enemy song "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" an amazing song
To be fair to Frieza, Saiyans literally do turn into giant monkeys lol
This is my favorite episode, thank y'all so much for doing this episode. It's so powerful, I love how Boonducks pulled this off.
Shabazz refers to Mumia Abu-Jamal, please look him up. His story is an American tragedy.🖖😎👍
Rana never disappoints 😩
The episode that goes into the backstory of Uncle Ruckus is one of my favorites
wait is this the first episode where Ruckus acknowledges that he's black @4:36 because my understanding of the character was that he always believed he is white. not that he wants to be white.
This was a powerful season finale.
NGL. Navi asking, "What's UPN?" made me feel my age (48, btw).
As Always Love Seeing Your Reactions, Everyone
Even though the animation and jokes get better in season 2 and 3. It sucks that the show stopped having deep/genuine moments like Huey crying/praying.
Yeah season 1 Huey is best Huey.
And his narration stopped too if I remember correctly!
@@abcdefg2174 Yeah he wasn’t the main character anymore and his narration became seldom.
Uncle Ruckus is totally Granddad's Joker. He just keeps hoping he can be saved from his insanity some day.
Great reaction! This episode was hilarious!
Really enjoyed watching u guys watch one of my favorite shows of all time...On to season deaux! 😁😁😁
*Communists. The Black Panther Party were Communists. Put respect on the name.
They were very patriotic, quiet as its kept.
i loved the discussion
Absolutely love the ending of this episode. Still one of my favorites to this day.
You can tell Chris never grew up in the hood watching these reactions lmao that goof don’t know
he is self-hating black dude
When I tell y’all this show takes it as far as you can take it with Ruckus. They do. Y’all ain’t seen nothin yet
@@supersuede6493 💀💀
Yes finally moving on to season 2 🎉
I mean technically Frieza is more speciesist than racist, but Geto now that’s a racists..man calls everybody monkey
The crew reciting the lines like "White heaven" after Reagan says heaven, is so hilarious 🤣
@1:26, how Marketa pre-emptively prepared to laugh killed me xD
Season 1 Huey is best Huey. And season 1 was really somethin special.
I love this episode!
Thats point was only related to the creation of the Crips through. It was a neighborhood protection idea but as they grew the message kinda got loss. I believe it was a teen at a high school who got bullied by some other teens who were Crips and to protect himself gathered friends to defend himself and others. They went on later to create the Bloods.
For granddad, he sees Ruckus as that ignorant lost Black person, like so many in our communities...but they are still our people and so we have to look out for them. Black people, come from many great virtues...one of which is not casting out those that are lost or turning your back on them, you lead them back into the fold. This is also reminisce in the Bible where you are told to be your brother's keeper...and that a good shepherd goes out to find his lost sheep and bring it home.
That impression earned a like before the reaction 😂😂😂😂
Riley is based on the misguided youth who aspires to accepted by black culture. While the show puts on display that although his many talents he struggles to put them on display as it tends to step out the culture norm. (More will be seen later but he’s an amazing drawer and painter but didn’t see the value in it until given the proper place to flourish (bob ross kinda 😂😂))
That was beautiful
There's a bunch of episodes I can't wait yfor y'all to get to on Season 2-3, where the show literally becomes an anime of some sorts
Fun fact UPN turned into The CW
I saved Isabella Antea’s Believe In It (Boondocks Version) cause it was so beautifully used this episode
On point Uncle Ruckus voice 👌🏾
Suraj’s impressions always amaze me 👏🏾👏🏾
Can’t wait til y’all see the babysitter episode 😮
The uncle ruckus’s impression 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Season 2 lets gooo
Suraj's uncle Ruckus impression was pretty fuckin spot on lmao
So Shabazz if I remember correctly is based off Mumia-Abu Jamal, who's still in prision for the murder of a philidelphia cop in 1982. However, there was controversy at the trial of the witnesses and tactics used by the prosecution.
Finally this season finale
One of the funniest episodes ever finally here
"Armstrong Elder", gotta be Armstrong Williams and Larry Elder.
Guys we just need 6 thousand more likes to get Serj to talk like uncle ruckus
*not even a minute*
Rana: hey everyone !!! Have you guys heard of the thing we're watching is referencing!?? I recently spoke with someone I can't verify...
Ruckus is too powerful 🤣🤣 never before has a force like him existed 🤣🤣
Suraj Uncle Ruckas impersonation is crazzzzzzzy spot on
We Ride on the soul plane next week
Black dude with the white wife is clearly regretting being on this watch along 😂
We need a uncle ruckus skit! But y’all gotta be Longbeach Griffy toxic with it😈😈😈
This show amazing
Ruckus would unironically gain a large following in America
Ruckus being the the gem of boondocks yet again
I don't know about anyone else but I would love for you guys to do lengthy discussions on these types of subjects on separate videos from the reactions (like the weekly catch ups), because you're about my kids ages and I'd like to know the new "norm" of this generation (you guys being the Normies and all). Live long and prosper, stay Kool and positive - 🖖😎👍
I agree but for different reasons, a lot of their personal beliefs are divisive amongst the viewers and may start to leave a soured image of them down the road
@@kabura8742If someone has a sour image of them from beliefs and religion, that person needs help 😅
@@cjjackson2423 Not really that's just the way things work. We come for reactions not for hot takes on religious beliefs, politics, race, ect. Doing so will alienate their viewers who disagree with them because they have viewers of various political and religious backgrounds. For example in their previous Boondocks reaction video they stated that Capitalism is Evil in their comment section and what happened? It got heavily ratioed with negative backlash which resulted in them deleting that comment altogether
@@kabura8742 Aw well okay Yea if you say sum shit like that I get it 😭
@@cjjackson2423 Right, not a hater but it's dumb shit like that that they say in their video discussion parts and comments that's preventing me from subscribing
I don't think it's fair to compare Candace Owens to Uncle Ruckus. The closest thing to Uncle Ruckus in real life today is probably Jesse Lee Peterson, lol.
Agreed!
And incredibly enough, the comparison is an insult to Ruckus. He's doesn't know any better, but Owens absolutely knows what she's doing with her vile talking points.
Ruckus is a poisonous victim of the racism he internalized over the decades, Candace Owens is just a sellout race traitor.
its hilarious to see self-hating blacks like Chris and others like him try to claim that blacks that try to fix the community like Candace and Jesse Lee are the "self hating ones", California-woke politics really ruined millions of Americans and turned them into zombies for the Demo Party.
His rukus was pretty good 😂😂
This was the first episode of the boondocks i ever seen
Ruckus the voice of reason as always
I really miss this show, not many like it cuz true voices of black ppl arent usually voiced. Its also hard to find people that speak more from an objective point of view of a black man pointing the finger at everyone, including themselves. Theyll never be another like it, black dynamiter was the closest and was made by some of the same ppl.
ROFLMAOO I love Suraj 😂 I just know he's gotta be hella chill to kick it with 😆
Boondocks 1 of the best shows of all time
lol When even God is like "Alright, bruh, I'mma need you to chill with the racism."
Such a great and meaningful episode, and a great reaction and discussion. Also, Rana is over there looking like an absolute snack lol
I think Huey breaking out of prison and moving to Cuba was a shout out to Asada Shakur (spelling).
If you guys are interested in the history I suggest watching The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution. It's an incredible documentary.
Seconded. It tells the good and bad of the Panthers
Black banana peeling hands off me 😭😭😭
Ruckus on a mission from gaaawwwd
Get Ready For Season 2 Of The Boondocks Guy's,You Will Definitely Love That One Forsure
I'm willing to bet there was absolutely nothing on her glasses🧐🤔😂
I can smell the onions in this room
There's also a Puerto Rican group called the young lords in the 60s and 70s.
So true that Tom has an absolute hate for Usher all because his wife is obsessed with Usher.
Uncle Ruckus exists in the real world.... his name is Jesse Lee Peterson
I don't recall hearing about the Black Panthers in school.
Spidey said, "I read the book."
Suraj could definitely be the backup va for Uncle Ruckus lmao
Suraj killed that and Rana still a dime!!
I've heard about "Black Panther" being the black equivalent of the KKK. Not in school though, just around non POC adults in Florida 😅
Candace Ownes had this same dream xD
And Tom is such a follower
This is a very deep episode funny yes and heart breaking, but also a literal reflection of the brainwashing and reality of black people, both past and present.
Oh wow 😂
Ya know the whole shebazz situation is funny and over the top but i had a scary realization that it really could happen that easily. My 2 cousins and several other boys served a full sentence of 20 years for a crime none of them has a single tie to. They had the actual criminal in custody, they had no DNA evidence, they have video footage of the "detectives" interrogating one of the boys feeding him the story telling him that if he admits it he'll go home which he believed because he was special needs and knew no better. That one testimony put those boys away. And the wildest part is even now that they're out, netflix did a documentary about the shady shit, and my cousin wrote a book about the experience they've received no compensation for the 2 decades stolen from them. Ain't this country grand.
Wow that's completely effed up. 😢
Nice reaction challange! I like it! And... the first girl on the right... I felt in love with her!!!!!!!
If you're from Florida remember potential governor Andrew Gillum had a gay affair in a hotel with crack and got exposed 😅. Boondocks is insane.
