I've also got a kestrel 48 currently, do you find this to be around the same size once it's fully expanded? I can't remember if Osprey includes the 'brain' in their pack size because the top on the kestrel is pretty large.
The kestrel 48 seems huge compared to the flex. I've tried the flex on a couple nights away and it's a little too small, imo it needs a large stretch pocket in the back and a strap over the top to hold a csf mat or tent, therefore I find the kestrel much more easier to live with. The downside to the kes is the heavy weight and I've become a customed to the bottle holders on the shoulder straps but mammut can solve that problem. Cheers Scott.
Great review however I have 2 of these, the 40/60 and the 60/75 and thought that they were fantastic until I noticed wear and holes in the pack. The waist belt has a stiff edge that cuts into the pack at the point where the lumbar pad is fitted. This wears a hole in the pack. I have contacted SD but as yet no response which has been disappointing. Don't rely too much on the online chat either, 15 mins into the chat the agent left the office for an hour without telling me, just left me hanging.... Then came back and said she would email be. 3 days later still no response. Those in the US seem to have a better (or should I say an actual) response by SD to any warranty issues
I like SD but it seems like they get 3/4 of the way and decide to stop and say that'll do. If they added all the small stuff people want they'd be onto a winner.
Yes I agree. Also if they could respond to people outside of the US it would give confidence. My issue is clearly covered by warranty as the packs have only about 30 days on each.
Thanks. That was a nice review and a nice cat. I really appreciate it as you're right, there aren't very many reviews on the 25-40 Liter bag.
Wicked review, I don’t need another bag but I want one 😩
Looking to get one of these but are the hip straps quite large as I’m a bit larger than average around the middle cheers
Nice video. You convinced me to get one, thanks! 👍
Nice video
Yes that's the smaller version of Chris Townsends I'm using. Definitely poor show hiding straps . Thanks for info
