A military engineering vehicle is a vehicle built for the construction work or for the transportation of combat engineers on the battlefield.
These vehicles may be modified civilian equipment (such as the armoured bulldozers that many nations field) or purpose-built military vehicles.
The first appearance of such vehicles coincided with the appearance of the first tanks, these vehicles were modified Mark V tanks for bridging and mine clearance.
Modern military engineering vehicles are expected to fulfil numerous roles, as such they undertake numerous forms, examples of roles include; Bulldozers, cranes, graders, excavators, dump trucks, Breaching vehicles, Bridging vehicles, Military ferries, amphibious crossing vehicles, and Combat Engineer Section Carriers.

Ну тут видно , что военные заложили в ТТХ то инженеры и построили, у нас нет возможности держать большое разнообразие техники по классам вот и строим сразу большие универсальные на любые условия работы . На западе строят более разнообразную технику и в зависимости от объёма и сложности работ можно применять разную, но там и расстояния её переброски смешные не как у нас мне что-бы до областного центра доехать надо 1450 км отмахать.

To me the Russian wins hands down, the other one was moving soft soil around, where as the Russian went off road through trees and every thing.
I wouldn't really regard it as a "combat" engineering vehicle though. The MID better fits that role.

sense. They may have a machine gun ,but that's hardly an attack weapon.
@@MrPi72 LOL, the NATO one can't even be used buttoned down, whereas the other one has an armoured cab, apart from is much bigger and has a much bigger and better adaptable jib arm that can clearly do heavy recovery. Fantasise on your own time, as if strangers have to cater to your wounded ego and fake plastic national pride. All you're doing is making it worse if you have to use words wrong. Face it, the NATO engineering vehicle is utter garbage and has to be used in non-combat situations, because those dweebs are never buttoned up, are they?
The Russians have a fully armoured cab because they've had to do engineering under fire many times.
@t34 fan oh combat doesn't mean they actively participate in fighting, but they are driving alongside the fighting vehicles and support during an active operation, at the Frontline.

Дл чего нужен бат? Это обычно так сказать военный бульдозер. Быстро пробить дорогу, где то закопаться. Наш хоть и жрет дохерища, но он соотвецтвует этим требованиям. Их что то как то не очень. Они как не полноценные что ли. В боевых условиях он своим черпачком ров будет долго засыпать, все как то не серьезно. Неужели нельзя было сделать одну большую мощную машину которая имела бы хорошие характеристики? Думаю могли. Но не сделали.

Both of these are pretty good vehicles. The only downside to both of them is that they’re huge target so you can only use them behind the front lines.

Разработан в Харьковском конструкторском бюро машиностроения. Производился малой серией и поставлялся на оснащение специальных войск (инженерных и гражданской обороны) ВС Союза ССР. СОВЕТСКИЙ поставлялся в ВС СССР. Какая нах Украина? Ей тогда даже не воняло.
Каждое изготовление техники по мере её потребности.

Why is there the USSR was the only country to adopt the the Wedge dozer blade as opposed to the straight blades? Seems to be perfect for a quick road production
The shown NATO engineering vehicles are not really used for road production. In most cases you will want to have the solid moved to the front, for example to create anti tank ditches, tank positions, or fords. All that is not as easily made with wedge dozer blades. For road construction there are other vehicles.
Also: the Kodiak has a straight blade that can tilt left or right. Best vehicle in my opinion.

Just wondering why the Russian equipment has such large window areas in the front....I see that as a big difference with the NATO vehicle....Yes, I know they are armoured, but even so, enough shots would craze the glass to the point of not being able to see forward....
Built for different purposes I think. The Russian vehicle is huge, but slow. I’d imagine not built for front line use. Lots of the NATO vehicles seem smaller, more agile.

The Russian vehicle is a lot more robust. The NATO vehicle is a made over troop transport. One is built on a tank chasis.
