I am learning Ayurvedic cooking and watch other popular channels but I LOVE that you include a written list of ingredients so that I know what to buy at the local Indian grocery store. Very helpful--Im a new subscriber. Thank you for the video! Namaste 🙏
A very good recipe dear. U might have forgotten to mention that the millets should be soaked for a min time 6-8hours prior to cooking and the soaked water must be used for the cooking. Also it is advised to cook it in the mud ,clay pots or will have problem in digestion.
Actually, i am not in cooking. However, after watching your video. i feel it is easy and good receipe to do. Just now, i had made it. because it good for health. looks yummy. Taste is little bit bitter. Thanks for the video
Very informative presentation. I love Indian taste food. Importantly it's a healthy receipt especially for someone with high sugar level. Thank you and keep it up.
Foxtail millet has to be cooked with the husk?A while ago,I tried making with it.It was cooked well but the husk of the millet made it very difficult to consume it.pls help n guide..
You are so right. I usually mix the two powders, add a couple of tablespoons of warm water and put aside to be added towards the end of the frying stage. You can also mix along the chili powder Thank you,
Great video ! I am trying to incorporate more grains that are abundant in India, into our diet. Does this ratio 2:1, also work for ragi and all other millets ?
@sivaya : It is Not 3:1. For Millets 3:1 ratio is Not at all enough. For 1 Cup of Millet, you should add 6 Cups of water, so that it soaks well and the millets also consume sufficient amount of water to expand and release all the fiber and other nutrition in it. Just see RUclips Videos of Dr. Khadarvalli Speech on Positive Millets or Positive Grains. You will know more about it.
Waheguru jioji, bahut khoob! Please I'd like to know the names of five millets if you know ,secondly which millet u cooked also write the name please. I couldn't understand. All the best, great. It's really a healthy food.
Learned a new tip from your recipe. Don't leave the cooked up recipe in the pressure cooker. It gets clamped up. When I make dal kichdi which is almost similar, but leaving the kichdi in the pressure cooker used to make it clumped up. Taking it out in casserole to avoid this. Added to my learning curve. Thanks for the tip.
Millets should be soaked in water for nearly 8 hours maximum for Fiber and other nutrients to get released in full. Saw Videos of Dr. Khadarvalli, where he has explained about this. Dr. Khadarvalli Speech on Positive Grains or Positive Millets, also known as Pancharathna Siridhaanya. The 5 grains or millets are: 1. Foxtail Millet 2. Barnyard Millet 3. Kodo Millet 4. Little Millet 5. Browntop Millet.
Very clean kitchen. Great presentation. Simple sweet instructions. Great way to start replacing rice with this alternative.

what u said is correct, turmeric is very good but to get the maximum benefit u should add peperpowder with it
You are so right. I usually mix the two powders, add a couple of tablespoons of warm water and put aside to be added towards the end of the frying stage. You can also mix along the chili powder Thank you,
very good
Should we soak the millers for 5-6 hours ?? As it contains phytic acid, it inhibits absorption of other nutrients. Please clarify about this !!!
Which millet have you used???

Great video ! I am trying to incorporate more grains that are abundant in India, into our diet. Does this ratio 2:1, also work for ragi and all other millets ?
Kodo millet consumes a lot of water
@sivaya : It is Not 3:1. For Millets 3:1 ratio is Not at all enough. Awesome I like the way you cook in easy methods thank you
Superb, I liked it, new subscriber😊
Yummy and nutritious pulav.
I would lije to soak and use the millets.. So how many whistles??
Just one whistle is enough and use just under double the water - so for 1 cup soaked and drained millets, use around 1 and 3/4 cups water.
Good
Hii very nice thank you for the recipe

Which millet uesed? Bajra or kangni/foxtail millet?
Please listen to the Video in full. She has said that she has used Foxtail Millet in this recipe.
