    Took a leap of faith and picked this up to replace a vornado that finally gave up the ghost.
    Just like you, I was looking for a replacement vornado but saw this and thought I'd give it a shot.
    $118 deal right now on Amazon.
    And.. Thanks to your insight, it turns out I am eligible to file a warranty claim with Vornado with my dead unit.. I never thought about it until I watched this vid, thus the Dreo replacement.

      When vornado first came out with the new line of fans, they gave some of them a lifetime warranty. People to this day over 20 years later have them and get them replaced. Awesome warranty plan!

      I’m thinking of getting this fan for my home office. How quiet is it ? Does it have a good range of speed settings?
      My current fan only has 4 speeds and even the lowest is too high(noisy) for me.

    • @garolstipock
      @garolstipock 2 месяца назад

      @@majorgear1021 Yes, its quiet enough so that I never think about it. Mine also is in a my home office, approx a 10x12 room, modest/smallish I suppose, but its upstairs in a house where that 2nd floor behaves almost attic-like. It gets hot in the summer and my air-con needs a hand to move that cool air about to keep the space comfortable.
      Mine is usually on either setting 3 or 4 on the 'natural air' setting where it tries to emulate the ebbs and flows of how a natural breeze is like in nature, so varying speeds. It's pretty nice
      .
      You start hearing the fan sound become prominent at 6 and above

    Dreo and Vornado fans are excellent fans. I lean toward the Vornado because I think it's a little more powerful. I upgraded to a Vornado from a Lasko pedestal fan which was complete garbage.

    I love the height and smart features of the Dreo but I like that the Vornado is made in the states and, more importantly, has a 10 year warranty. Dreo has only one year, which, with all the fancy features, doesn’t seem like enough. I have both coming in to battle it out and see which one gets to keep my sweaty body cool at night.

    • @DenyTheZeitgeist
      @DenyTheZeitgeist 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheHonestCatholic they’re here and I’m conflicted. I got a USA made Vornado, and this Dreo.
      Both move surprising amounts of air. The Vornado wins by a small margin. It’s a little louder but the Vornado can move houseplants from across the living room so it’s got some power. It has a small noise because of the motor but it’s very quiet.
      The Dreo is plenty powerful and even more quiet than the Vornado which is quiet itself. You really only hear the air from the Dreo, even at high speeds.
      The Vornado wins in the build quality section, the plastics and the stand are substantial.
      The Dreo just feels like your average Lasko plastic. Fine but could have been sturdier. Doesn’t feel like it’s gonna break easily, but if it takes a tumble then it might be bad.
      The smart features on the Dreo are crazy. All the angles and settings and Alexa integration are top notch. The Vornado has a single, continuously variable knob. The knob is slick though and I love having total control of speed.
      I think it’s gonna boil down to 10 year vs 1 year warranty. The cheap plastic-ness of the Dreo makes me feel like that one year warranty isn’t enough.

      @@majorgear1021 I got the 723DC Vornado. Solid piece. Still works great. My only gripe is Vornado halved their warranty time on the site. Only 5 years now. I’m glad there’s still a warranty, but that was disappointing and you have to be careful which ones you order. Some still have a 10 year, but they’ve started moving to 5. Hopefully that changes back to a good warranty. I can’t see this breaking any time soon though. My 723 has the 10 year warranty on the box so I’m assuming they’ll honor it.

    The desk fan that Dreo sell and the one that the guy in the video you were referring to used is more powerful than the pedestal version of the fan that you’re showcasing. The guy in fact video did mention that the Dreo pedestal fan does not blow air as hard as their desk fan and would be about the same as the Vornado. Still they both seem like pretty stylish fans!

    @malibustacy3606 Месяц назад

    So clarify something for me, why would you want this fan (or any other fan for that matter) oscillating in the first place, as opposed to just moving the air where you happen to be?

    • @beardedreviews
      @beardedreviews  Месяц назад +1

      to move the air around a room. lowers the temperature that you feel when you walk into a room. Without air movement, heat will rise and cold will settle, so at the level of your torso, it is hotter than at your feet

    • @malibustacy3606
      @malibustacy3606 Месяц назад

      @@beardedreviews If you're fan/air circulator is moving a sufficient amount of air, even if it's pointed directly at you, it will still function as an air circulator, the presence of a single human being is not going to remove it's air circulating abilities, reduce them a little maybe, but not remove them.

    • @beardedreviews
      @beardedreviews  Месяц назад +1

      @@malibustacy3606 Well that would depend on the size of the room and the height of the ceilings. If you put a box fan on the floor in a 20x20 living room with 15foot ceilings, it is not going to circulate the air. Air circulators have narrower beams of air and in the case of the dreo it moves up, down, left, right, to push air all over the room, not in just one small section

    • @malibustacy3606
      @malibustacy3606 Месяц назад

      @@beardedreviews A box fan would be a good choice of what NOT to get, and I would think any decent 12 inch and up air circulator would do a good job of moving air around your space regardless of where it as pointing, save for maybe the floor. I use 2 Xpower FC-250AD's and they do the job nicely.

    • @beardedreviews
      @beardedreviews  Месяц назад

      @@malibustacy3606 yeah, exactly my point. You're using two of them. An oscillating fan covers many angles, and the fans you're using alot of people would not want in their living space, they look very industrial, where a vornado or dreo look nice in a room.
