    That’s a new track record with YYY breaking Santa Ana Lane’s previous mark. Fantastic race... the Everest is an amazing concept well executed by NSW Racing

    • @BossBelsham
      @BossBelsham 5 лет назад +2

      It really isn't, it's actually poorly executed. WFA/Handicap is killing the G1 races and the only reason why this horse beat the best sprinters in the world is due to the 53kg weight.

    • @bgardiner3354
      @bgardiner3354 5 лет назад +1

      Hayden Belsham as a spring 3yo what sort of impost would you want him to have?

    • @BossBelsham
      @BossBelsham 5 лет назад +1

      @@bgardiner3354 set the race to a 56-58kg limit. The race should be ran on merit and ability, not weight. There's no way in hell YYY could beat any of these otherwise.

    • @bgardiner3354
      @bgardiner3354 5 лет назад

      Hayden Belsham would you want the same distribution for all WFA races or just the Everest? I think from the barrier he got the best run and had further to wind up. That’s why he won. The sport is premised on granting 3yo’s a lesser impost to give them a chance.

    • @BossBelsham
      @BossBelsham 5 лет назад

      It's the best against the best. The only variables should be track bias and barrier. Otherwise it becomes a rort. I backed trekking myself, but i have no shadow of doubt that santa would have won if YYY weren't carrying the 53.
      It's the same with melbourne cup, 4/5 of the last winners have been under 54kg. Watch something like true self or constantinople put gaps in the field with the 51/52kg they're carrying in the cup.

    Need to make this a G1. Yes Yes Yes was retired straight to stud, not even a G1 winner on his CV, thats how the race is looked at and with Coolmore involved with Yes Yes Yes, they obviously look at it as a very good race to have on your CV.
    Look what the race is doing to the Manikato and Darley Sprint they are bench mark 84s now.

    Interesting to note that Aidan O'Brien, who missed out here, got a winner up at Leopardstown, Ireland, bearing the name Mount Everest. A consolation for the great man, who has the fortitude to test his sprinters against our best. I doff mi lid to him.

      @keith gould The IFHR have Battaash number one and Ten Sovereigns the best three years old sprinter. If he sticks around he might get to prove that by racing Yes Yes Yes again and Bivouac. I wouldn't discredit him on this one run. His July Cup win was pretty good. It would have been great to see Blue Point in the field. I don't think he'd have won, but he may have got into the money.

    • @Joelksk
      @Joelksk 5 лет назад

      @@svendbosanvovski4241 it's unfair to say a horse is worse than a field having travelled half way around the world. 30+ hours on a plane is enough to kill a horses sprint, if he stays around he might do ok.

    • @svendbosanvovski4241
      @svendbosanvovski4241 5 лет назад

      @@Joelksk Yes, we should allow for that. Its a point I have often made about our horses racing in the UK. 16000 km trip, during which the horse can loose a lot of weight, the strange surroundings, seasonal variation (when Phar Lap got to California he still had his winter coat), the layout of tracks, going, pace of racing - all of those militate against horses travelling to and from Australia. Our horses have done that successfully, but many have fallen by the wayside and never recovered. AO'B did say that the horse was in perfect order and he expected a bold showing. The horse looked fabulous during parade, as we would expect from the great trainer. Let's see how the horse goes if they take him to Melbourne. He might do better in a 1400m race.

    • @Joelksk
      @Joelksk 5 лет назад

      @keith gould you're right, I suppose time will tell if he's at his best but after that he will probably stay away from the sprints.

    Just goes to show how good YES YES YES really was, in 2021 obviously the champ finally won it leading all the way, and you can see in this race how he is a different horse 2 yrs on, he went at a break neck speed from the start and not many horses can do it at both ends, but this 3yr old colt not only sat out the back of the field but when Bossy hit the go button just exploded and in his win set a new track record in doing so. No wonder Coolmore said straight away retire him to stud as really the Everest should be a G1 as you have the best 1200m horses in the country racing for huge stakes and huge money, plus you only have to see now how during the Melb Cup carnival especially this year being 2021, besides Nature Strip the field was pretty standard, as all the owners and trainers that have a good sprinter target the Everest now not the Darley Sprint. So please change the status of the Everest to The Tab Everest G1. Yes Yes Yes is not a G1 winner but when his progeny go through the sales in the sales catalogue it will have 2019 Everest winner which will prick the ears of any buyer in Australia or around the world.

      JL - ludicrous statement. Did you notice where Ten Sovereigns, the July Cup winner, ran in the race? Australia has the best turf sprinters and best turf courses in the world. The U.K. is well beneath our standard and has been since 2003 when Choisir won your two sprints at Royal Ascot. We hardly bother to send any sprinters over there now as the huge prize money disparity is a major disincentive.

    • @JL-nk1pc
      @JL-nk1pc 5 лет назад +1

      @@nedpoines8104 Ten Sovereigns didnt win at Ascot he bombed at York and had no chance in Aus from that draw. Blue Point form was franked by Belvoir Bay last night at the Breeders Cup. Your sprinters this year are not that good and your middle distance horses are a joke.

    • @nedpoines8104
      @nedpoines8104 5 лет назад +3

      JL - Winx could give your sprinters a start and still run them down. Ten Sovereigns probably ran the fastest 1200 metres in its life[1.08+] in The Everest but was still incapable of tacking on to the rest of the field and was losing more ground as the field passed the post. Which horse is rated by the IFHA as the best turf sprinter in the world? Isn't it also correct the an Australian sprinter has been rated as the world's best for the last fifteen years according to IFHA rankings? No mate, your horses a very slow compared to ours and the UK trainers accept this and that's why they decide not to send their sprinters downunder because it would be futile. You need to breed from Australian sprint sires if you are to make progress. Watch Chautauqua win the 2017 T. J. Smith Stakes on [RUclips]. He would absolutely destroy anything that you could boast about. Bataash was nearly run down by one of our third stringers, Houtzen, at Goodwood and he was rated at 136! Give us a break with this jingoistic tripe and palaver. Finally, there is nothing in the Breeders' Cup that could worry an Australian sprint horse. We never see any American sprinters travel here because, they, like yours would have no hope.

      @@nedpoines8104 you have your niche in sprints but look at the absolute state of your middle distance and stayers. Group 3 euros and JPN lapping them. Give me a middle distance race over a sprint any day the focus on speed is not good for the breed.

      View the stewards footage on Racing Diary. You'll see Pierata being chopped out. Santa Ana Lane might have won as well. But that speaks volumes for the great Glen Boss, one of four Hall of Fame jockeys still active in Australia. He knows how to position his horse and keep it freed of risk. racing.racingnsw.com.au/FreeFields/Results.aspx?Key=2019Oct19,NSW,Royal%20Randwick#Race7

      @keith gould The jockey commentary is on line. A lot of excuses, but not from Bossy. What a legend that bloke is. Bossy, Ollie, Hughie and Robert Thompson are the only National Hall of Famers still in the game. Craig Williams isn't far behind them, if at all.

      @keith gould He's below The Everest field in my opinion. Look at the difference in the times they ran yesterday. Osborne Bulls and Shoal would have been more competitive had he been fit to start. Maybe the Bostonian would have his measure, too. Yes, 8f might be his peak distance.

      Nico Weekes I agree. I think that in only its third year it is already a classic. As is the case when any new race is introduced it always has to compete with existing races. I think it’s been great for our racing although it does make it now far less likely that we would ever send our sprinters to Royal Ascot... it will only be horses like YYY who is part owned by Coolmore.

Plus races like the winner stakes and the hunter could be good lead ups. Just throws things off for me and aussie racing has been worse since these new races came in.
