“Freedom has to be public … supported by the society around you.” This is so profound & true & lacking in many so-called democratic societies. I love this man ❤️

Great interview, very insightful. A side note, he says "Alemania", which is Germany in Spanish, not Albania.

Truly enjoyed this! Thank you Tom. He said so many profound things to be pondered and relished.

While Almadovar speaks in Spanish about the three dictatorships the captioning translates Alemania as Albania rather than the accurate which is Germany. He mentions the three as Germany, Italy and Spain.

Great interview. It’s so important to understand this history which still lives in the background political culture. Blood family and work family still carry the unconscious maladaptive behaviours from this control. It allows us to understand people as reactions in a wake. As Picasso said, art is a lie that tells the truth. Why we need art.
