I did playthrough of One Punch man on my channel. Not a great game. This does not look any better. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot i better than both as a single player. Tenkaichi series and ultimate ninja storm ruined anime games for good. Budokai 3/Infinite World was the path to go. Those were the most exciting and competitive games. But too many people ran to Tenkaichi when it released because they did not know how to play Budokai 3, and Budokai 3 was not acknowledged in any communities. I have always wanted to see a DBZ game made similar to Zone of the Enders. I still have yet to see one. ZOE is still ahead of its time and that game was released in 2001. None of you kids can tell me otherwise. I grew up watching Toonami in the 1990s. I know the progress of the games and from my own experience.
All Might honestly with how incomplete other $60 fighting games are nowadays I’d say this one stacks up pretty well based on the roster and game mechanics alone lol. It probably shouldn’t be $60 but when I see games like Granblue Fantasy Versus with only 11 characters and a shitty story mode and no rewards for arcade mode I start to think $60 doesn’t mean much in the games industry.
The fact that there's a penalty for Rage Quitters make me love the Online Mode for this game even more as it actually has consequences. They should've even make it to be where you rank down and lose more points in the process as well and the other player wins by default and get those points. Overall based from what I'm seeing, the game looks pretty fun to play despite it's flaws and this review basically summed up everything I need to know. I'm looking forward to your tips and tricks not to mention combo guides on your channel for this game for it'll be a learning experience so thank you for this
I’ve been trying to do the bonus objectives. I’ve done like 90% of them but bro screw the Gang members. It was really difficult to do the “complete the fight with 80% or more health” challenge when the gang member does so much damage.
The game is pretty damn fun, especially if you try to get the platinum (all the trophies) I did all the bonus objectives for each chapter and got 100% completion for it. Screw the missions where you fight thugs though and stay above 80% health. For some reason the random thugs are the toughest enemies in the game.
You really nail what makes this game so fun. I wish more people could see and appreciate that about this series. It's a pretty casual game but every character feels so different and fun. You have so much more control over how you play, it's not just spamming generic attacks over and over like in most fighting games (especially arena fighters).

I really like all the improvements made to the fighting system, it feels so much better (I already liked the first though) with all those new offensive&defensive options, and the new cancels mechanics feel like they could open up to a lot of combo creativity. The characters all feel quite unique as said in the review and there're a lot of them now. My only gripe with the game are the animations&stages, they look cheap. And for some reason, I just don't feel like I am in MHA's world when playing on them. It's such a shame! They also added that new (I think it's new?) "Vilain view" filter to the stages but... it's literally just a purple filter. It could've been cool if they actually distorted the stages to look more evil or something, changing elements (like making U.A. look like a vilain school for example), but yeah, budget I guess! The whole game feels like they've sunk most of the budget into the fighting system+characters' uniqueness anyway, and did what they could with the remaining bucks. Which I think is totally OK since they can more easily build upon an alright game with good fighting mechanics than a good-looking game with terrible fighting mechanics. But you can feel the results. Though I overall dig it a lot.
Ones justice 2 is a great game. i agree with basically everything you said, with the addition of the event mode online it’s not out yet and we haven’t heard anything from it so who knows🤷🏽♂️
I wish this game series could be more like Power Stone - instead of destructible objects just there for the sake of flash, have it where you can actually pick up destructible objects and throw them at enemies. It would be an especially cool way to give characters more distinctions in the way they operate over others like they do in Power Stone, a la characters like All Might and Uraraka can pick up objects like pillars and trees, while characters like Eraserhead and Froppy might use their scarf/tongue to swing off the pillar/tree for a high powered kick.
I pretty much agree with your statement on this being the best Arena fighter at the moment and I really hope Byking gets the chance to continue to expand on it (and maybe even tackle some other anime series at some point?). Bit of a weird aside but I bought the Switch version (because I must have everything on switch for some reason) and noticed something weird. For some reason the game runs way better in handheld than docked. Anyone else notice this or am I crazy?

I expected a story mode where I save people in a open world even if it is limited like the mobile game that game out for this series and go through the story of My Hero Academia with cutscenese along with this type of fighting, but what we got is a visual novel! I expected more for this series not a cheap way to get a quick buck for a popular IP.
Regarding the 2v2 mode, PS Plus is actually not an issue. As long as one account owns the PS Plus membership, it can be shared across all profiles connected to the PS4, and in case you used Share Play it would be required from both accounts anyway.
you dont know how bad i felt when i won someone 1 round and then he won me the second round and it disconnected as he was about to win,i felt so bad because he probably thinks i rage quit or something
One thing I really really hope they patch in is the ability to use your custom characters in mission mode. It just seems like a huge mistep especially when all the enimes are custom. Also let the assist characters wear the custom outfits as well!
Not really. Like Globku said, it makes the player think about conserving their meter whilst using their assists in a more useful way. I remember in the first game where some dash cancel combos could do in 70% of your health so another reason why I think this is good is that the matches won't be over in 2 seconds. They've also added the dash cancel to be unlimited too which is good if you want to go ahead with your combo but it will be at the cost of a lot of meter. In all honesty, I think it's a really balanced change.
This might be a greedy wish but I wish we could be Kai Chisaki (Final Form) in training mode so we could test all the moves and see how good the super’s damage is. And Ik we can play as it in story mode for the villains but you don’t get a chance to test much out since it doesn’t tell you the moves in the menu thing.
Last night I fought a normal overhaul in ranked and literally couldn’t touch him more than twice because he used that one move that locks you in place and let’s the person do it 3 more times. Couldn’t jump high enough to get over it, and I couldn’t run around it. Had no choice but to lose. I looked for the guy in my recent players list but he wasn’t there. This put me in a sour mood for the next few hours and really put me off the game because I put a lot of effort into learning my combos and trying to play fairly.
His forward+special 1 is easy to avoid- just dash when he first uses it. You can close the distance for the first two, the last *big one* you’ll have to block or it’ll hit you. His normal special 1 you can just jump over and dash towards him. It’s incredibly unsafe. Additionally, if you have someone who can zone just use them to attack as soon as you see him out his hand to the ground. His special 1 isn’t the fastest. If you need any help fighting about zones I can help teach/train you lol.
@@tomoya777 Oh no I'd probably just get it to enjoy it as I like the anime not really for online. Although it's still around £25 which is a bit steep for the first game.

I honestly like the game but I feel like they could’ve put more work into the graphics and the animation overall😬.. I’m def not hating tho it seems like a great game hopefully it lasts long and they begin to take it more serious and fix them animations 👍🏽
Might have to pick this up didn't play the first one but the fact that the characters don't play the exact same way unlike Xenoverse 2 which has a boatload of characters that all play the same exact way That alone is making me want to try this and I really like the anime
Hey has anyone’s save data mysteriously erase, I was playing online then it logged me out and I logged back in and everything I had was gone if anyone knows how to undo this please help.
Ok let's get started with this mini rant I love the game but there is like this thing with story mode I hate fighting THUG and GANG MEMBER every other battle like it was unnecessary like most of the time it will be like "oh you bumped into me let's fight" like why does it do that and there will be time were I fight the same dude like 4 times in a row with a different character and *SPOILER ig* at the end when you're overhaul in that battle that was the worse boss fight I've ever done like I can barely control him and I get sunned every 20 seconds I had to cheese my way through that fight but besides those 2 things nothing has really been bothering me
Storm is still the best arena fighter to me, but if we can get these anime games to follow the same path as dbz fighterz, not only will it be more rewarding to play because of skill, but it would allow so much variety
Great review! Not being able to turn off music completely is a big negative buenos for me. And it seems like you can't use customized support characters, on arcade mode at least, right?
Honestly I hoped that My Hero One's Justice should have the story from the last game and expand it with the story of this game which allows the player to experience a portion of MHA in one game. I respect what they did, but if they kept the story of the first game and added the parts from this game, it would have made the story mode even better. Still a great game seeing some of our favorite characters fight.
I was happy that they implemented a mode for 2 on 2 but was dissapointed it was made the way it was. Would be cool if they tweaked it to do 2 on 2 with ai partner and enemies just for fun.
I like the length of the supers myself but I agree some of them look terrible. I wish they was just a still camera and you see fluid animation instead of them mad camera cuts .
I'd be interested in getting this game but I have no friends to play with, question is: I want to put a lot of time in this game, but what would be the best ways of putting that into action? Asking for a friend
I think online mode is the best if you want to invest time, the game has some competitive thing and it really feels good when you do an amazing combo, however, the connection is good but now the online doesn't work very well, I hope they repair it soon.

Thank you so much. I was really hesitating whether or not I should've bought the game. This review sums it up perfectly. Unlike...**ahem** some people!!
I'm looking at you, IGN.
Anyways, thanks for the review, I think I'll pick this game up. Once again, thanks. Oh, and also...
*_New sub :)_*
I expected a story mode where I save people in a open world even if it is limited like the mobile game that game out for this series and go through the story of My Hero Academia with cutscenese along with this type of fighting, but what we got is a visual novel! I expected more for this series not a cheap way to get a quick buck for a popular IP.
Rappa has infinite he is probably going to get nurfed to the ground like Fropy in OJ1
Oh, so there's a way to play with online partners un the 2v2 gamemode? Wow, thanks Globku, now I just gotta figure out how Parsec works.
Character breakdown pls
After DBFZ I realized I will never willingly buy an arena fighter. REAL fighting games are where it’s at
SuperSaiyanSimon ok ok but what about a storm game
This game is kinda competitive, it has similar mechanics to dbfz.
@ Pokken Tournament dx might have roster issues but its not terrible in my point of view its acceptable
Terrell Owens yeah I agree but storms my childhood
Play Tekken a real fighting game
thx this really helped I wanted to buy it but didn't know if it was woth it
Xanadoo Dork what was your decision?
One thing I really really hope they patch in is the ability to use your custom characters in mission mode. It just seems like a huge mistep especially when all the enimes are custom. Also let the assist characters wear the custom outfits as well!
Who just got this deluxe game cause it’s $20 ? I did 😎
I'm upset at dash cancel changes. It makes combos less unique.
It really does
"plus ultra 2 are long"
both version of shigaraki:i dont have such weakness
So basically the game mode at like 7:50 is shining striker
I'll pass on it till its cheaper.
It most likely won't get cheaper, the first game started at 60$ and never dropped
chasingrabbits I got the first one $30 on sale. Game shops normally have them around $30 later on through the year
@@rabbitsrose That's not true, it dropped to $17.99 on Nintendo eShop a couple times.
Can't get nomu unless preordered right? So gotta wait for them to release him then I'll buy. I just gotta have all characters with games

I know what your talking about there. Had to play that one like 5 or 6 times, but got some good money for it.
With the sequel out hopefully the original will go super cheap. I never got round to picking it up
Ones justice 1 is 15 dollars RN I think 20? But not to many people play it anymore so know that before going in
@@tomoya777 Oh no I'd probably just get it to enjoy it as I like the anime not really for online. Although it's still around £25 which is a bit steep for the first game.
@@Itsumi456 oh it was on sale for abit yea 25 Is still a bit robbery is always a option
X demise D lol
In the 4 player mode you can change targets via one of the triggers
I like it, but I keep seeing people saying that this game is bad and is not worth the price. I get that not everyone is going to like it, but I don't understand how can anyone call this just a trash game.
I guess this thought is just a small rant idk
Same, it's a good game imo
Cause people have that arena fighter = bad game mentality.
I honestly like the game but I feel like they could’ve put more work into the graphics and the animation overall😬.. I’m def not hating tho it seems like a great game hopefully it lasts long and they begin to take it more serious and fix them animations 👍🏽
Waiting for the 3rd game next year!!! Wee know it's going to happen!
same
Just got the PS4 physical Collector's Edition for $25. Looks like I'll enjoy it. Gotta buy Endeavor and Hawks though.
Loading has been super sped up compared to the first game!
Looking forward to picking this up on a sale but I really hope the next MHA game is open world, or at least something that’s not just arena fighter.
Ok let's get started with this mini rant I love the game but there is like this thing with story mode I hate fighting THUG and GANG MEMBER every other battle like it was unnecessary like most of the time it will be like "oh you bumped into me let's fight" like why does it do that and there will be time were I fight the same dude like 4 times in a row with a different character and *SPOILER ig* at the end when you're overhaul in that battle that was the worse boss fight I've ever done like I can barely control him and I get sunned every 20 seconds I had to cheese my way through that fight but besides those 2 things nothing has really been bothering me
Fun fact to change who your locked on in the 2v2 mode push the assist button your welcome
Can you do a ranking or tier list with explanations please.
Story mode, Mission mode and Arcade mode sounds great to me
I have doubts about this game my friends are playing it but I really like fighting z should I give the game a chance?
Storm is still the best arena fighter to me, but if we can get these anime games to follow the same path as dbz fighterz, not only will it be more rewarding to play because of skill, but it would allow so much variety
Globku: some of the music just grooves harder then a JoJo soundtrack
Me I neeeeeeeeeeeeed iiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttt
8:21
Hit L2/R2 to change targets.
Seems like a fun game series to get into in 3-4 years.
The removal of ring outs is probably because of the game being less floaty meaning it’s harder to get back
This game is pretty fun in my opinion. The lag is a little annoying right now yeah but it is really recent so what can I expect
It's a shame on how such a successful IP like this can't afford to make it's game look less cheap.
Both are on sale right now and the second one is 60$ AUD for the deluxe version so I've just bought the first one for now to give it a try. Hope I like it :) if I do I'll get the second one too
The first one is kinda trash ngl, the second is better imo
I would buy the game if it wasn’t 60$. The game feels like its worth at least 20 and at most 40
I bought this game for $40 and I feel pretty good about it it's $30 for the original and $40 for the deluxe edition on psn so now I kind of feel stupid but I got enjoyment from it so it was worth also I got it like 6 months ago
Really having a hard time choosing between this game and Granblue Fantasy Versus, don't know which one to choose.
Versus, my dude.
