    I love my Instant Air Fryer Ovens, but the most frustrating thing is that it has a 4 lb limit for the rotisserie. I mean do they know how hard it is to find a chicken 4 pounds or under???
    Well, I found a way to rotisserie a larger chicken! No need to go hunting for that illusive tiny bird.

    Lana, you are AMAZING. I had no idea how to use or start the rotisserie function because the mfg . didn't mention it in their manual. I had to find your channel . You do such a thorough job of explaining and showing how these ovens work. Instant Pot Company should get you on the payroll. Thank You.

    I bought the Vortex Plus recently, and decided I wanted to give it a try, but I was a bit intimidated on how to use it. So I came to RUclips and within a few minutes, I found your channel. I happen to have a ~ 3.2 lb. chicken that I bought from Whole Foods that I thawed out and was looking for instructions. And here we are! I found some twine in a drawer, so will be ready to go tomorrow.
    I've watched a bunch of your videos, and have been very impressed with your knowledge and presentation. You have overhead cams! Yours is one of the best "foodie" channels out there, and I follow a LOT of them, from Instant Pot/Air Fryer Lid channels, to Pit Boss Smoker channels.
    You have a gift for this. Signed, Calvin, your new fan.

      Oh my goodness, you made my whole week! Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to comment. You'll laugh, but my overhead cam is just my Android phone on a $20 arm mount that clamps to my counter. My son makes RUclips videos so he taught me how to use his editing program and tricks to make videos look more professional. I guess an old dog CAN learn new tricks, lol. Thank you again and stay safe and happy cooking!

    I just truss the whole chicken, insert spit, center and tighten. Get a twine double the length of the chicken, make a loop knot, insert it on the end of the spit, tighten. Wrap it tightly to the opposite end, knot, flip and repeat. Now my chicken is tightly trussed and tied onto the spit itself. Your chicken will not move.

    • @LanaUnderPressure

      You can, but I find that it doesn't fit well and makes it harder to insert. And if it isn't crimped down enough, it will fly up, which I have had happen.

    When I do my full chickens, I not only use a half of an onion, but also a half of a lemon and 4 cloves of garlic to stuff inside the bird. I am going to try to rotisserie a couple of Cornish hens tonight. Not so sure they will need to be dressed up/trimmed and string attached as you did these, but we shall see. Great video to watch and lean from.

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  3 года назад

      There is no end to what you can use to had flavor to your chicken. Sometimes I place my fresh herbs ont he inside as well. I have done 2 game hens and they came out really yummy. I still trussed them a bit just to keep the wings from flopping and it helps with even turning and browning. But if you sandwich them tightly enough, you might not have to truss at all. Good luck, happy cooking ,and stay safe!

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  4 года назад +1

      The chicken tends to hit the drip tray when turning. The foil just lifts out. I just gather the edges to keep any grease a juice from spilling. I take out the legs and then lift out the foil and I have never had a mess.

    Hi! But can I do this with an Omni plus? You had said the bottom heating elements are used with the Omni Plus Roast mode? And do you take the separated chicken legs out before 60 min? And if I use the airfry mode, will it not go up to 60 min?

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  3 года назад

      I am sorry it took me so log to respond. Usually I can comment right away but things have been crazy in the Perez household.
      So with an Omni Plus you should use Air Fry mode if you want to place the foil on the bottom. But because Air Fry you can't control the fan and it is on HI, you can start by cooking for 45 minutes. Check the temp with a thermometer and add more time if needed.

I’m loving them but was a little disappointed with this description because it says for the Vortex as well but it was cooked in the Omni. Can you still do this & cook the legs at the same time in the Vortex? If yes, how would you fit the legs?

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  4 года назад +3

      You can do it in the Vortex+. I have done it. Cover the drip tray with foil and push the legs over to the side and the corner to get it out of the way of the chicken. If you triss the chicken tight enough. It should clear it.

    • @leahbrunt2511

      I just tried it in mine and it did work! I was happy to find this video because I could not find a chicken under 4.88 lbs at the store. I put the chicken a little closer to the left side with the wings tied up on the left end, and then the legs with the fattest part by the right corners of the drip pan (the part where the leg meets the thigh). It didn't even come close to touching, but of course I've only tried it once lol!

    ATTENTION, this is wrong..you are not supposed to put foil in the Instant Omni oven. It says in the book that it will cause a fire. It specifically says that you should only use parchment paper.. if foil comes in contact with the heating element it will cause a fire

    • @LanaUnderPressure
      @LanaUnderPressure  3 года назад +1

      The reason they say that (and I have contacted the company) is because if you don't crimp it down and it flies up on to the heating element, it will cause a fire. That is why a specifically state that 1. Make sure you are using a mode that doesn't turn the bottom heating elements on and 2. Make sure it is crimped down well so it won''t fly up. But if you are worried, feel free to skip this step.
