As a Medical Professional sadly I have seen many people like Violet, Jenny, and Screech come through the emergency room way too many times in nine years. I have had to take that long walk to the morgue far too often. Seeing your reaction reminded me of how I feel inside, and I never can cry in front of my patients/families/police. I bottle it up and deal with it in later. I am proud that you put yourself seeing these video through seen how they so deeply affected you. Never lose your kind heart.

We were both Blown away ( & have been with EVERYTHING Ren has done)...We watched this together....Violet's Tale was Hardest....My Ex was abusive...never hit her or my son & made sure he never hit me when they would see...But they knew...My Daughter was the one Who gave me Guts to leave...11 yrs old she said "I'm Never gonna Marry, what if I get someone like Dad treats you?"...I got WAKE UP CALL!! Next time he hit me I Hit back...he called Cops I got put in jail &&&& a GODDESS musician Tori Amos helped save us( Seen 9 times , backstage 7 & on her tour bus 2 times when Ex was an asshole & she had her people take him out....last time on bus she talked with me for about 20 minutes) She set it up with the RAINN Charity for Kids & I to leave, Get Housing, & find a Job !! I'm a former "Violet". It took several weeks to actually make it through the song trilogy, because I kept breaking down. Ren is amazing. I highly suggest Suic!de, but it's extremely heavy and emotional, but damn, it gets your soul. Don't recommend until you're in a good mental state.

Bless your heart, woman, I balled my eyes out just watching you. This is my first time seeing you, and you are so empathetic. When you were crying so badly during Jenny's Tale, I thought "Gee I hope this woman makes it through the trilogy!" I know that men can do horrible things. I did not fully understand the impact of those things until I saw how they affected you. You're blessed / cursed with this heart, but I feel like I am better to have witnessed it.
After the mess you were already in watching the first two tales I was trying to get you to not go into Violet's tale but you went ahead and got crushed. That was a really sad and beautiful reaction I loved it and cried along with you.
As someone who has heard these tales so many times now I can recite them word for word, as soon as you explained your reaction to "Hi Ren" I knew these tales were the worst possible choice for you to come back to, it was painful to watch you go through it. You felt every second of it and it showed, I'm sorry that you had to go through that. If you return to Ren may I recommend a few songs that would be much better choices as they are much more lighthearted and fun... "What you want", "Losing it", "Illest of our time", "Humble", "The Hunger", "Love music 1,2 & 3" I'd also very highly recommend checking out a friend of Rens, a lady called Chinchilla (Avoid the songs they've done together, while beautiful songs they are heavy), but "Fingers, Live for Hunger TV" is possibly the greatest vocal performance I've ever heard and her other songs like "Little girl gone" and "Elements" are empowering classics... Much love to you on your journey.

No one is ever ready for Ren. His ability to write is beyond most. "Patience" the interview video is a good one. You will probably cry but it's because it's uplifting not sad.
This composition elicited exactly what its supposed to. This is more than art or performance. This is a representation of the evolution of humanity. Music, Language, hell even technology, since pretty much everyone sees this first as a video. We as a species have evolved enough to reach anyone anywhere at nearly any time. Yet our emotive evolution hasn't progressed past "its such a shame".
This is the first time visiting your channel, wow what an introduction. First and foremost, from someone dealing with job related ptsd you really really need to know how brave you are and how much I admire you for having the reaction you did, and still uploading it, and sharing such raw and deep emotion with us, that was a true act of courage! It was tough to watch, but very important for others that scoff or dismiss mental health issues, or make fun of people that need trigger warnings to see. These kinds of emotions and the ability of words or music to transport us instantly to a very dark place, are very real for a huge part of our society, and your reaction is a reminder to us all, that we should have respect for our fellow humans, and realize things we say and do can have massive ripple effects. Not trying to hate on your subs, which I am one now, and I don't know how you came to choose to react to this song, other than seeing "Hi Ren" first, but I've told people this on other channels, if you're a sub that even knows a reactor a little bit, when you request a song like this to a reactor you know has a rough past, or has been through some tough shit, please please please, give them a trigger warning. I applaud your tenacity in getting through the whole thing. Great job! I really think you need to listen to 2 songs to aid you in your mental readjustment: the first is "Humble" because it promotes such a positive mental mindframe to have (put it thus way, it is so positive affirming I try to listen to it once a day). The second is "what you want" because it is proof, without a shadow of a doubt, that some of Ren's music can be 💯 super fun without all the heaviness and emotional gut punches. With that being said, if you ever want to venture down that road a little further, I'd recommend his latest song 'suicide". Obviously, just the title alone suggests the heaviness of the subject matter but still secure awareness is such an important subject to share. I do not know about your story or past struggles with either drugs or cancer, but the brother certainly does have heart and relatability. Take care. Breathe ❤

For a more lighthearted Ren video go with Losing It or What You Want. A word of advice: Avoid Ren's newest song, Suic!de, until you are in a good mental space as it's just as sad if not sadder than this one. It's about a friend of his that took his own life. If you want to be punched in the stomach check out Ren's collaborations with Chinchilla, Chalk Outlines and How to Be Me. Both songs are amazing but are quite emotional.
Good advice Charles. I see some people recommending that she watch Suicide. I think anyone who watches it needs to be in a good mental space for that one, or at least know what it’s about so she can make an informed decision.
Ren had a really rough life dealing with his illness and misdiagnosis, so some of his songs are very raw, personal and talk about depression and anger. However, he has some fun too and sometimes just likes to show off. I suggest you take a break from the dark stuff and watch "What You Want", "Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve Retake)", "The Hunger", "Losing It (Fisher rap retake)" or "Power". Ren's duets with Sam Tompkins are also great fun. They do some mashups while busking on the streets of Brighton - "Earned it /Mans World / Falling" or "Walking on the moon / No diggity" are my favorites. You can also find videos of the busking band he was in called The Big Push. Any of these is going to be less traumatic. His duets with the artist Chinchilla are on the darker side, but if you want some great singing and empowerment check out her work - "Little Girl Gone (Official Music Video)" or "Fingers Live for HungerTV". If you ever feel the need for a complete emotional breakdown and decide to do his latest release, "Suicide", please remind everyone in the U.S. of the 988 phone number for the suicide and mental health crisis national hotline. I'm not sure of the phone numbers for other countries. I really don't recommend you watch it without someone by your side for support. It will rip your guts out. For you, I honestly suggest you just skip it.

This song is overwhelming. It’s a punch to all of your senses. The storytelling is beyond anything that I’ve ever seen in music before. It deals with generational trauma on a level that is unfortunately very real. Ren is an absolute genius when he is trying to shed light on important topics that most musicians won’t touch. With that being said…. He does have songs that are not so heavy and that are fun. Try “losing it” or his tribute to the beastie boys “what you want”. It was heartbreaking to watch you go through this but I’m glad you got through it. Thank you for sharing that part of yourself ❤
Ren is an intense artist driven by extreme events in his own life filtered through one of the most explosive musical talents to appear in decades. But I'm sure his intention is not to distress any listener, but to inform and elevate their awareness, express profound truths, and to captivate and entertain his audience. The empathetic distress his story telling seems to cause you may be a reason to react to less overwhelming, but still entertaining musicians. There is no flaw in searching for the beautiful and soothing in art. Art that heals and soothes the spirit is also profound

He has helped me to accept that what I am feeling is real, and now that I know it's real, I have been looking at what I can do about it. He helped me to get to that point rather than me hanging from a beam in the shed. I am sorry for your pain but I am not sorry that you reacted to this trilogy. It is part of Ren's artistry that he makes people FEEL. And he makes most people feel the same feelings. It's not an abstract painting that makes different people feel differently about it. His aim is always so true. He has many difficult songs, all extremely valuable as part of a necessary conversation about things like mental problems and generational abuse being passed on, and more. But he has songs that make one feel great too. You should listen to some more Ren soon. I recommend his song "Power". Fun and uplifting. Good feels. Another super good feel song is the cover song "Bongo Bong" by The Big Push, a band Ren was in a few years back. "Losing It" is another winner. None of these songs will rip your heart out. The thing with Ren? We WANT him to make us feel. The mark of a true artist. Well done getting through this. You do win the trophy for most devastated first reactor on this song. Ren said last week on his twitch live stream he did when his new song Suicide came out that him and Sam who records all his videos except for the animated ones and Animal Flow, that he's always wanted to have a show on Netflix in this style, Musical Storytelling. People heard and they're interested to he has about Five episodes ready to go if need be and him and Sam will work on a pilot to pitch to Netflix and others. He also wanted both up and coming artists and established ones on the show too telling stories. That would be amazing. But this one here is a tough one to get through. So much tragedy and loss. You really need to check out some of his more upbeat songs, Love Music, 1, 2 and 3, or Fire would be good to check out. He has some really heavy songs but he also has some more down to earth stuff that's just as good.
This song also has a big impact on me being bipolar and living some years on the streets, and many more not far removed from them. I've seen so many tragic stories happening around me with addicts and the mentally ill, or just more normal people who found themselves in a bad way.

When you were crying so badly during Jenny's Tale, I thought "Gee I hope this woman makes it through the trilogy!" I know that men can do horrible things. I did not fully understand the impact of those things until I saw how they affected you. You're blessed / cursed with this heart, but I feel like I am better to have witnessed it.
After the mess you were already in watching the first two tales I was trying to get you to not go into Violet's tale but you went ahead and got crushed.
That was a really sad and beautiful reaction I loved it and cried along with you.

As someone who has heard these tales so many times now I can recite them word for word, as soon as you explained your reaction to "Hi Ren" I knew these tales were the worst possible choice for you to come back to, it was painful to watch you go through it. You felt every second of it and it showed, I'm sorry that you had to go through that. If you return to Ren may I recommend a few songs that would be much better choices as they are much more lighthearted and fun... "What you want", "Losing it", "Illest of our time", "Humble", "The Hunger", "Love music 1,2 & 3" I'd also very highly recommend checking out a friend of Rens, a lady called Chinchilla (Avoid the songs they've done together, while beautiful songs they are heavy), but "Fingers, Live for Hunger TV" is possibly the greatest vocal performance I've ever heard and her other songs like "Little girl gone" and "Elements" are empowering classics... Much love to you on your journey.
I could not take my eyes off the screen...the video and your immediate, visceral response jockeying for my attention. You have my heart-not easy to be as empathic as you are.
No one is ever ready for Ren. His ability to write is beyond most. "Patience" the interview video is a good one. You will probably cry but it's because it's uplifting not sad.

This is the first time visiting your channel, wow what an introduction. First and foremost, from someone dealing with job related ptsd you really really need to know how brave you are and how much I admire you for having the reaction you did, and still uploading it, and sharing such raw and deep emotion with us, that was a true act of courage! It was tough to watch, but very important for others that scoff or dismiss mental health issues, or make fun of people that need trigger warnings to see. These kinds of emotions and the ability of words or music to transport us instantly to a very dark place, are very real for a huge part of our society, and your reaction is a reminder to us all, that we should have respect for our fellow humans, and realize things we say and do can have massive ripple effects.
Not trying to hate on your subs, which I am one now, and I don't know how you came to choose to react to this song, other than seeing "Hi Ren" first, but I've told people this on other channels, if you're a sub that even knows a reactor a little bit, when you request a song like this to a reactor you know has a rough past, or has been through some tough shit, please please please, give them a trigger warning. You can convey the warning without giving away the plot, or any twists that make it a good story. I applaud your tenacity in getting through the whole thing. Great job! I really think you need to listen to 2 songs to aid you in your mental readjustment: the first is "Humble" because it promotes such a positive mental mindframe to have (put it thus way, it is so positive affirming I try to listen to it once a day). The second is "what you want" because it is proof, without a shadow of a doubt, that some of Ren's music can be 💯 super fun without all the heaviness and emotional gut punches. With that being said, if you ever want to venture down that road a little further, I'd recommend his latest song 'suicide". Obviously, just the title alone suggests the heaviness of the subject matter but still secure awareness is such an important subject to share. I do not know about your story or past struggles with either drugs or cancer, but the brother certainly does have heart and relatability. Take care. Breathe ❤

A word of advice: Avoid Ren's newest song, Suic!de, until you are in a good mental space as it's just as sad if not sadder than this one. It's about a friend of his that took his own life.
If you want to be punched in the stomach check out Ren's collaborations with Chinchilla, Chalk Outlines and How to Be Me. Both songs are amazing but are quite emotional.
Good advice Charles. I see some people recommending that she watch Suicide. I think anyone who watches it needs to be in a good mental space for that one, or at least know what it’s about so she can make an informed decision.
I'll 2nd that warning. Most people don't have such a strong reaction to this one, IMHO Su!cIde is far far more emotional.
Ren had a really rough life dealing with his illness and misdiagnosis, so some of his songs are very raw, personal and talk about depression and anger. However, he has some fun too and sometimes just likes to show off. I suggest you take a break from the dark stuff and watch "What You Want", "Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve Retake)", "The Hunger", "Losing It (Fisher rap retake)" or "Power".
Ren's duets with Sam Tompkins are also great fun. They do some mashups while busking on the streets of Brighton - "Earned it /Mans World / Falling" or "Walking on the moon / No diggity" are my favorites. You can also find videos of the busking band he was in called The Big Push. Any of these is going to be less traumatic.
His duets with the artist Chinchilla are on the darker side, but if you want some great singing and empowerment check out her work - "Little Girl Gone (Official Music Video)" or "Fingers Live for HungerTV".
If you ever feel the need for a complete emotional breakdown and decide to do his latest release, "Suicide", please remind everyone in the U.S. of the 988 phone number for the suicide and mental health crisis national hotline. I'm not sure of the phone numbers for other countries. I really don't recommend you watch it without someone by your side for support. It will rip your guts out. For you, I honestly suggest you just skip it.

I'm not a fan of the "trigger warning" fad, but they are appropriate for some things including this trilogy! This song is overwhelming. It’s a punch to all of your senses. The storytelling is beyond anything that I’ve ever seen in music before. It deals with generational trauma on a level that is unfortunately very real. Ren is an absolute genius when he is trying to shed light on important topics that most musicians won’t touch.
With that being said…. He does have songs that are not so heavy and that are fun. Try “losing it” or his tribute to the beastie boys “what you want”.

The empathetic distress his story telling seems to cause you may be a reason to react to less overwhelming, but still entertaining musicians. There is no flaw in searching for the beautiful and soothing in art. Art that heals and soothes the spirit is also profound

He has helped me to accept that what I am feeling is real, and now that I know it's real, I have been looking at what I can do about it. He helped me to get to that point rather than me hanging from a beam in the shed. I am sorry for your pain but I am not sorry that you reacted to this trilogy. Ren is such an amazing story teller. His use of language is so descriptive, and he just sucks you in. He really is a genius.
It is part of Ren's artistry that he makes people FEEL. And he makes most people feel the same feelings. It's not an abstract painting that makes different people feel differently about it. His aim is always so true.
He has many difficult songs, all extremely valuable as part of a necessary conversation about things like mental problems and generational abuse being passed on, and more.
But he has songs that make one feel great too. You should listen to some more Ren soon. I recommend his song "Power". Fun and uplifting. Good feels.
Another super good feel song is the cover song "Bongo Bong" by The Big Push, a band Ren was in a few years back.
"Losing It" is another winner. None of these songs will rip your heart out.
The thing with Ren? We WANT him to make us feel. The mark of a true artist.
Well done getting through this. You do win the trophy for most devastated first reactor on this song. But you hung in to experience the whole work of art.

Ren said last week on his twitch live stream he did when his new song Suicide came out that him and Sam who records all his videos except for the animated ones and Animal Flow, that he's always wanted to have a show on Netflix in this style, Musical Storytelling. People heard and they're interested to he has about Five episodes ready to go if need be and him and Sam will work on a pilot to pitch to Netflix and others. He also wanted both up and coming artists and established ones on the show too telling stories. That would be amazing.

You really need to check out some of his more upbeat songs, Love Music, 1, 2 and 3, or Fire would be good to check out. He has some really heavy songs but he also has some more down to earth stuff that's just as good.
This song also has a big impact on me being bipolar and living some years on the streets, and many more not far removed from them. I've seen so many tragic stories happening around me with addicts and the mentally ill, or just more normal people who found themselves in a bad way.
“What You Want” from Ren is a good pallet cleanser after this… purely happy upbeat fun, no gut punches
