@@SouhridPalVines How do you know? Do you even have any knowledge of engineering? Clearly, the motor uses electromagnets and magnets. Basically these electromagnets on the rotor switch polarity momentarily to turn the rotor. So shut up if you don't know ANYTHING about electronics.
@@suspense_comix3237 yeah maybe ik less than you, and infact you are right... But in this video, the insulated copper wire is coiled around pieces of cardboard, whereas in real motors the wire is coiled around thin sheets of iron or steel... This helps in generating larger electromagnetic field, also the metals are used as sheets so that the eddie current generated within the metal won't cancel the electromagnetic field. Also to your surprise, the magnets used are so weak, they won't even be able to pull a safetypin from 1inch distance whereas the working DIY motors use neodymium magnets... Also the blade method for transferring current to the coil generates huge amount amount of friction, resisting its rotation.... Also, 65 turns is such a small number of turns, instead using thinner wires and more number of turns would have helped... So yeah maybe I don't have any sense of ELECTROMAGNETISM or so called DC MOTORS But I do have a small amount of knowledge to crack JEE
This is the best electronic project I have seen on RUclips so far....the rpm depends on the strength of the neodymium magnets and the number of turns used....in your case can you please tell what is the rpm for a 12 volt dc source?
it actually doesn't depend on voltage, it also depends on amps of the battery/power source. you should try testing it with a 12v 7ah lead acid battery.
No, The wire he is using is transformer wire. This isn't just wire, this is a thin copper wire with an oxide layer on top, this acts as an insulator. If you were to use a bare copper wire, the motor would smoke if you applied electricity because the coils would short circuit.
The purpose of a brushed motor is to make induction so that the motor will move, and the only way to make it is through coils. you can try making the coils out of another insulates wire but you motor with be huge and you will need much more of the wire to make it.
My thoughts exactly , I've been watching cartboard f1 rc earlier ...and said...hey but I don't have a motor ,now all I need is a cartboard battery and I'm set to go lol
Current passing through a wire will create an electric field. Stronger by every rotation of the coil. Generally how power stations induce currents in a wire by spinning magnets. :)
Thank you bro for this video I am very happy with this video and now please tell me how to make a water pump for small motor only and I have seen many water forms but it was fake and you are really my true maker thank you black Robo brain
In order to make it ave more power and speed you need to increase the amount of turns of the wire and how large each turn is, also putting in more powerful magnets will make it more powerful, just not that strong so that the motor won't move!
Your welcome. Oh, also try making the casing out of more durable materials like wood or plastic and somehow get the motor attached to a bearing. This will be very difficult to do for this motor, but if you have a look at "AmericanTech", (which is a youtube channel) and they can make much better motors than this.(Its also not that hard):)

this one is probs the best one out here. you inspired me to 3D print a big motor, with a 12 segment rotor, and a 12 segment commutator.
It actually resembles a 'real' DC motor instead of merely being a mashed-together science demo, unlike most DIY motors. Bravo

Without Any iron core electromagnet is useless.
That is how it is fake
Wrong. An electromagnetic coil will produce a magnetic field without an iron core. Most small electric motors use plastic to hold the wire wrappings.
Current passing through a wire will create an electric field. Stronger by every rotation of the coil. Generally how power stations induce currents in a wire by spinning magnets. :)
I agree. If plates made from a tin can were used instead of cardboard then the motor might have more torque but this will be pretty weak
