I was 13 years old, when the Barcelona Olympics happened, and this song came out. The first time this song appeared on our tv, I was running around being a crazy 13 year old, and stopped dead in my tracks to listen to this. I will never forget it, being the most beautiful thing I had ever heard at the time, gave me goosebumps. Then after the song finished, the tv people zoomed a camera over Barcelona. Me thinking, that is the most beautiful city I have ever seen, I must go there. I have been to many places in the world now, but never Spain. Now seeing that song again, I have all the motivation.
Please do more Freddie and Queen but also soon it will be time to add a song or two from Brian and Roger?! May I suggest Brian - 'Driven by You' and 'Too Much Love will Kill You' and Roger - 'Say it Isn't True' and 'Foreign Sands' with Yoshiki. Then you will begin to discover the depth and talent of Queen.
She asked Freddie to perform this at the 92 Olympics, sadly he had to tell her he would no longer be here to perform it for the Olympics. RIP sweet Freddie you will low be truly loved and missed❤
Freddie was so much more than a rock singer. This was the first crossover between a rock singer and an opera diva in the history. Montserrat Caballé was one of the greatest sopranos of the last century who was brave enough to dive herself into a whole new musical world that Freddie offered to her, because she very soon realized The Musician in Freddie. They adored each other, became good friends very quickly, both of them had the same sharp sense of humor. Freddie and his friend Mike Moran composed a whole duet album with beautiful music and lyrics. In case of 2 songs they asked Sir Tim Rice to write the lyrics and these were the Golden Boy and the Fallen Priest. Don't miss it out! Or you can try the demo version called Rahcmaninov's revenge (later version) in which Freddie was singing Montserrat's parts. I mean, he was singing both parts. Amazing surprise!
Freddie had been a long time fan of opera, and especially of Montserrat Caballe. In 1986, he mentioned on Spanish television that he would like to meet her, and they met for the first time in Barcelona in February 1987. Later the city was chosen for the 1992 Summer Olympics, Montserrat was asked to help produce a song for the games. She asked Freddie to collaborate. The rest is history! 💐🥂🍾
Audition!? She asked to meet him That was side b for his cover great pretender before he met her He thought it would be a good ice braker He hadn't planned to work with her at that point he was working on his second solo What did you mean by audition?
This is beautiful. I enjoyed your reaction. and if you liked this, just know the two of them recorded a whole album of new songs together. It's full of wonderous stuff.
@@PlutoPleaseif you review How can I go on, there is a longer version that starts out with Guide Me Home then leads into How can I go on. You will love it
How Can I Go on is soooo beautiful/ This song was for the 1002 Olympics. This song was made 3 years before he died of AIDS. He told Montserrat that he would not be singing it with her most likely because in this video he already was suffering from aids and died in 1991.
Hi! Thank you for your great reaction. May i request that please do reaction video for -HOW CAN I GO ON❤️ it's beautiful! Freddie is a very talented person! Genius musician. He is not only a rock star, he can sing opera or any songs that he wants. He has a great voice. Montsy is a great singer too. Love them both🥰❤️👑💐🌷
Try Freddie and Montserrat singing “La Japonaise” - there is no “official video” per se, just their glorious voices singing a song written in English and Japanese. It’s stunning.

Please react to How Can I Go On live in Barcelona, Freddie is in a black suit, it's just fantastic
"Golden Boy" for sure. Also, "Exercises in Free Love" which was Freddie's "audition" for Montserrat. Unmatched.
