I've never commented on a performance - but I HAVE TO. Lady Gaga broke the mold last night. Everything about her performance here - stripping off the glam/makeup and giving of herself in such a meaningful way - possibly touching people REALLY in need of hearing that song, in that way. Hat's off to you Lady G!!! You just raised the bar if that's possible. May God Bless you richly for sharing your soul.
She's an Oscar winner with multiple nominations. These were her peers so glad she did her thing. Was looking forward to hearing the fuller version but any version from Queen Gaga is good enough.
Lady Gaga is truly TRULY a class act. Spent time & money in the middle of a shoot to make it to the Oscars to uphold a tradition & sing the nominated song before returning to a shoot...she must have been exhausted & in pain (she has a medical condition)
Her performance was so impressive, emotional, and inspiring! She’s in a class by herself and I loved her stripped down look and this version of the song was more powerful than the glitzy version in the movie. She can do it all, she’s the real deal !❤
I think this just proves how amazing a performing she truly is. Only a true performer and singer can play and sing sings that are so stripped down like that where it’s just really their voice, but she has that ability, and it still sounded amazing to me. I also love how she changed hair, removed the makeup and changed her clothing to simple making it feel as though she was singing to her fans and the fans of top gun Maverick more then she was the Hollywood stars that were in attendance.
I just don't think she needs an introduction. She introduces the song to the audience herself, because Hold My Hand is her song after all. I think it's very well thought out. and ofc she NAILED that performance. Bravo bravo bravo

I thought she was filming halfway across the globe when they first said she wouldn't be there. But if she was close by enough to make it there even if she got little practice in for the performance, then why not come, it's one night and a few hours.
Oscars 2023 "Best Supportive Performer" Award for Lady Gaga! There were many noteworthy accomplishmnets last night, and I enjoyed the level of deep appreciation and gratitude many of the award recipients shared. However, one of the main highlights of the evening for me happened after the spotlights had been turned off after Lady Gaga finished her performance of Hold My Hand. I was deeply moved by her obviously sincere appreciation for each of the artists who accompanied her as she took time to embrace and share her appreciation with each one.
Unpopular opinion: When I was watching this thing live last night, the fact that Lady Gaga wasn't dressed up anymore but wearing jeans and a shirt distracted me more than anything else. I get the symbolic gesture but it was kind of distracting rather than supporting. Anyway, great performance of a fantastic track.

The moment I noticed she had no make up……dressed down in street clothes…..I knew this was going to be the most authentic performance/visual of the evening. She truly wants her medicinal music to heal others, and I appreciate that she sees a much bigger purpose in life, than simply “entertaining” 🫶🏼🙌🏼❤️
What was funny is that the camera man was told to close up in her face in order not to show her outfit... Literally... You can see that the producers was not happy with the unfit clothes for the event ...
