I don't think he will be a great PG like he was projected, but at best if he develops his shot he can be a pretty decent backup, maybe even a starter on some teams.
AJ The Wright Gamer I actually disagree, with his play style I see either becoming a top point guard or slipping in the g league then retiring. The reason he's being given a spot is the chance that he could grow into something, but if that doesn't happen teams won't want a 43% ts on their bench either
I'm a Knicks fan so I've watched him a lot recently and he's made zero improvements since his rookie season. Some games you see the flashes of potential but others he's the worst player on the court. For guy as athletic as him, he's so bad finishing around the rim and his defense is beyond lack lustre. Hopefully he improves in the off season
Agent Gotham that hitch is disgusting lol, some games he has it other games its gone. He's a weird player ngl but he's been playing much better recently. I still think we're a better team when he doesn't play though
I swear man....about to go watch ur new video on how Steph injury is fucking up the warriors....am a big big fan mj2k...I'll soon be in new York to play ball...one day I hope u will make a video about me...that would be one of the greatest honours of ma fucking life
Do Shabazz Muhammad was Rank the number 1 H.S player in the Country in the class of 2012 & once consider #1st pick in the 2013 mock NBA draft , once compared to A lefty Kobe Bryant in high school.
Ronald milanes he was my favourite draft prospect in that class, if twolves gave him a chance instead of benching him I think he would've done well, luckily my bucks picked him up and he's been very solid so hopefully he can progress there
Both Mudiay and Okafor aren't exactly measuring up in the pros like most thought... Hopefully they end up salvaging their careers and being solid... I feel like Okafor got the rawest deal out of both of them... I feel like if he had been drafted to a team that was fully invested in him he would have been much better off
KIПG ΉЦППΛ part of that is okafor's fault... He didn't help himself with his attitude and lack of effort as well as him coming into the season out of shape... He definitively needs to help himself out as well
Idris Burch Okafor lack of effort on defense is truly because Coach K didn't want him to play d all college which turned into a habit... plus Okafor came into this season in great shape he went from 280 to 260 over the summer
I remember praying that the Knicks would have a chance to draft him since I believed he could be the PG of our future. Now I'd bet on Trey Burke being a better player for us if he stays with the team. Funny how things change
I actually wanted Okafor, we got Porzingis and I had no idea who he was. I just unwittingly assumed he would play well because he was European. Hindsight...
Still can't believe they traded Doug for this guy, especially now that Trey Burke has shown he belongs in the nba again along with Frank... No idea why their wasting time with Mudiay.
Lol you moron, you literally just talked about another top point guard recruit who took ages to find his feet in the NBA and then asked why they're wasting their time with Mudiay...smh
Jdl. Yep, Mudiay who isn't near as good as spreading the floor as Doug nor is he any good on defence and a guy who will most likely get cut from the team or play in the G-league for a guy that fit in the offence and was having a good year with the knicks.
When he starts working on his evident weaknesses exponentially better... in short, he's young, expectations high, between players or coaches jobs at winning, a coach would do the obvious, or even vice versa. I don't know if he can, believe, but playing for sake of money + expectations messes with your head in general, plus he's young and that alone deals more damage potentially. I don't know him personally obviously, but as most players, I wish them well and he's come far I mean, to the draft & NBA from Congo? (P.s. I love underdog stories to a fault)
Great video! By the way you wrote it was formally the Democratic Republic of the Congo. That’s what it is called now and it was formally known as Zaire. If I could make videos as great as your videos I’m sure I would mess up stuff like that also, so don’t take it too seriously and just keep making good videos!
I trusted him. A lot of players show their potential when they're 27-30 and he has a time. But if we think Knicks guard rotation they have to make a choice between ntilikina and mudiay. This 2 young prospects need a time.
Greatness is really about how badly you want it. Mudiay is very talented for sure but I am not too surprised that his career hasn’t panned out like many thought it would. For Mudiay, basketball was a way to provide his family a very comfortable life. The situation that he was in drove him and was the motivating factor for him to make it into the NBA. Now that he and his family are no longer struggling, he no longer have the same drive to push himself
Mudiay was a project player that just never developed past what he was. I think sadly his career is basically over because I dont see any team that will be willing to offer him any contract
You should make a follow up video about him proving people wrong. The kid is finding his feet. Even if he holds down a starting position this season that is a good result.
Mudiay now plays for the team I hate but love watching because their franchise is pretty amazing at supporting young players (the Jazz), will play off the bench behind the best teammate in the league (Conley), and just had a great season in NY where at one point was more efficient than the guy who took his starting spot in Denver (Murray, no disrespect though). Wish him the best in his career.
I found somebody who did a video on him I'll copy the link underneath this comment. It was pretty good and I subscribed to him cause he does pretty solid analysis
Mudiay been low key pretty nice on the Knicks and no one is acknowledging it. He just dropped 22 against the76ers and has a few other pretty good games.
As a Nugget fan, I really wanted Mudiay too work out. Too bad it didn't. Never improve his handles, still struggles to finish at the rim, and hitch at the top of his shot sucks. I hope he turns his career around. Seem like a really good person.
I don't fault him for skipping school. But there are lessons learned in college that go beyond the court. You learn how to be an adult and a team player. And I think that is what's missing from his game. He comes off as somewhat selfish who's not really part of the team. Just kind of doing his own thing. As was the case with Brandon Jennings. Both him and Mudiay seem to be a bit immature.
nothing going on, as much as i love ballislife they help falsify play styles by providing tape for students , they not to blame but ofc they need someone more exciting with athleticism on their channels. but put him next to more athletes and you see he not as good. ppl watch tape and exploit weaknesses once u in the nba. mudiay had many flaws. praying for Zion cus i really haven’t seen much but i always forget he is also 6’8
I feel that wasting 2-3 years developing a very young very raw prospect is often just a waste of time, money, and space. Time as in they lose many games for a few years AND they are eating away at the time on a rookie deal that is basically just a "we will spend millions to train you" deal. money as they lose revenue because nobody wants to watch a bad team play (Whether or not it ended up being worth it, the 76ers lost money in their tanking years) and they are giving millions to a kid who does not contribute much. And finally space, a lot of minutes go to an undeserving player for years! I love the Suns, but right now it is happening to them. Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss (two former lottery picks) have been useless, yet they play big minutes every night and the Suns lose every night! Chriss has regressed and Bender is stagnant. I could count on one hand the amount of good games each has had this season. I am off topic... Mudiay was a waste for the Nuggets. If young players are ready draft them, otherwise take someone deserving.
Alex Len took 4-5 years to become a solid player, which is quite a while. However, unlike certain other players Len rarely was playing over anyone more deserving. He usually came off the bench, or he just was the best option available. And Suns fans were not happy seeing Len constantly drop passes and chuck up a bunch of shots at a rate of about 42%, while we constantly lost. It is more entertaining and profitable to play players already ready to play. I would play the young guys as backups. If they deserve to play, then they play more. Devin Booker and Josh Jackson are 2 young guys who immediately deserved minutes. TJ Warren became a very impactful player, but he wasn't thrusted out there from the start (He backed up a proven PJ Tucker).
Speaking as a lifelong Nuggets fan, my problem with Mudiay was he way too inconsistent and way to turnover prone. The guy would have games where he had 3-4 assists and 6-7 turnovers, and that was just way too many.
He's a huge bust that I dont think will get better, but I want him to. His story is insane, with everything he has overcome, he deserves good to come his way
Harris, Murray and Mudiay were overkill for team like Denver to develop.. Denver picked Harris and Murray combo to invest in and replaced Mudiay with somewhat proven PG Devin Harris.. Now, when Gary Harris suffered an injury, Devin Harris kinda exposed his limitations, but overall I doubt Mudiay woulda contribute better towards Nuggets struggle to make it into play-offs this season
Don't really about his future with the Knicks. The Come up of Trey Burke is really gonna hurt Mudiay's chances in finding his role with that team and by next year if Ntilikina is healthy, they're probably going to utilize him more if he's playing well. Hopefully he finds a good home where he can develop cause he's a solid young player just inconsistent.
Remember when his school, Prime Prep couldn't get their academics cleared by the NCAA so Mudiay couldn't play for SMU? Or at least it went something like that
I guess you'll have to remake this video by the end of the season because right now it looks like he's finally turning the corner and becoming what everyone expected after all.
The PG position is the hardest to figure out in the NBA, ask Chauncey Billups. Personally I don’t write off any guard prospects until they are 25, Mudiay is just 22 and starting to come into his own on the Knicks.
I’m hoping he starts to improve for the Knicks but we’ll have to see. He has good flashes but is lackluster most nights. I just want him to back up Burke
Emmanuel Mudiay: proof that athletic talent alone isn't enough to be good in the NBA. Also with regard to the Mike Malone lack of patience: I feel like if a young player isn't showing signs of progress, then I don't blame coaches for losing patience. I see a similar thing with Thon Maker as a Bucks fan; a tremendously talented player who has incredible potential. but at the same time if he's not improving that much I don't blame Jason Kidd or Joe Prunty for not playing him that much.
He should have went to SMU to play for Larry Brown like he was supposed to do before deciding to go overseas. I believe under his tutelage Mudiay would’ve been a lot more prepared and developed to play the PG position at the pro level. Brown has had a history of coaching if not developing point guards that played at there highest level under him (Iverson, Chauncey Billups, Mark Jackson, Rod Strickland etc.) The biggest mistake he made was not going to play for one of the greatest coaches of all time who specializes in molding PG’s.
What happened to Mudiay? His game and his weaknesses were a problem at the NBA level. What was Mudiay's strength? His handle and his ability to get to the basket. What were Mudiay's weaknesses? He had no jump shot and couldn't shoot free throws and struggled finishing over length. Those weaknesses nullified his only strengths. The moment he got shut down when defended by Sun Yue(yes that Sun Yue) just by Sun forcing him to go left in the CBA it was apparent he wouldn't do well in the NBA unless he could finish, hit free throws, or have a jumper. He came into the league still not having all 3, and that is why he struggles. His weaknesses completely nullify his strengths.
carrastealth he ain't nothing but another elfrid Payton, Dante Exum, mudiay is one of these guards that can't shoot and is a 12 points per game scorer and 6 assists guy that's it
I still Believe in Mudiay....he is a young player Who probably has a lot of time left in his career and that’s enough time To Get his basketball playing efficient
Mudiay's shooting efficiency number are eerily similar to Lonzo Ball. Lonzo is a better playmaker and defender but not hugely better. I'd like to see how this comparison develops
I think he can turn it around because first of all he’s only 22 years old and second of all players can have breakout seasons so I think he can turn his career around
He went to play over season instead of college and the pace of the game was slower idk that’s what I’m thinking I remember him saying something about his shape
Honesty I think my nuggets should've kept mudiay. Yes his first 2 season were shakey but this season I saw much more improvement from him, he can actually shoot now and he lowkey won games for us. I think the nuggets were better with mudiay, Devin Harris I think doesn't fit with the team.
When you buy tickets at SeatGeek to watch your favourite player Emmanuel mudiay play, but he sits the whole game on the bench
Bandwagon 😂
Bandwagon that's TUFF
Bandwagon damn.
Bandwagon savage lol
Emmanuel Mudiay is your favorite player?! Unless he's your family or you personally know him, that's just oathetic and sad.
Jackson Royce so basically all good or all bad, I see what ur saying
I'm a Knicks fan so I've watched him a lot recently and he's made zero improvements since his rookie season. Some games you see the flashes of potential but others he's the worst player on the court. For guy as athletic as him, he's so bad finishing around the rim and his defense is beyond lack lustre. Hopefully he improves in the off season
Needs to get in shape and the hitch in his shot has to go.
Agent Gotham that hitch is disgusting lol, some games he has it other games its gone. He's a weird player ngl but he's been playing much better recently. I still think we're a better team when he doesn't play though
dyballocks im Knicks fan too. And Real Madrid fan.
Z dragon cool man, I'm a United fan tho. CR7 is my fav player of all time is that's why I have this pic
He’s doing better off the bench
Low key Mudiay a bust that no one talks about
I swear man....about to go watch ur new video on how Steph injury is fucking up the warriors....am a big big fan mj2k...I'll soon be in new York to play ball...one day I hope u will make a video about me...that would be one of the greatest honours of ma fucking life
MJ2KALLDAY he's not a bust your not in the nba so stop hateing
Wow 2 nba youtubers in here
Boss forlifeXYZ What are you talking about lol
MJ2KALLDAY if he played some time of defense he would be an average player
He provided for his family, is a millionaire, and is playing in NYC...it’s hard to call him unsuccessful.

I feel like Okafor got the rawest deal out of both of them... I feel like if he had been drafted to a team that was fully invested in him he would have been much better off
Idris Burch tbh Okafor just isn't getting no type of chance
Okafor wants to be in LA since the beginning. then jim buss and co's select D'russell.
KIПG ΉЦППΛ part of that is okafor's fault... He didn't help himself with his attitude and lack of effort as well as him coming into the season out of shape... He definitively needs to help himself out as well

Pelicans are helping Jahlil out.
what we have learned? college player should be payed
I remember praying that the Knicks would have a chance to draft him since I believed he could be the PG of our future. Now I'd bet on Trey Burke being a better player for us if he stays with the team. Funny how things change
Daiton How about Frank?
basketvic99 I like Frank he's our long term PG but right now I don't think he's ready just yet. For now though I think Trey will be good for us
I actually wanted Okafor, we got Porzingis and I had no idea who he was. I just unwittingly assumed he would play well because he was European. Hindsight...
Daiton What about my man Ron Baker
Andrew Green Everyone should already know Ron is the GOAT
2021 and I just wanna say.. I haven’t heard his name since he was on the Knicks. Thank god we gotten better.
Still can't believe they traded Doug for this guy, especially now that Trey Burke has shown he belongs in the nba again along with Frank... No idea why their wasting time with Mudiay.

Plebtile Doug who
Pretty Bitch Mayweather Take a role player over a bust any day.
WOW, can't say little. I'm going to call the bullyhunters and then they'll get you.
Anyone else believe Mudiay can turn it around?
Andy Hoops If the chips fall
If he ever learns to shoot

Suomi perkele
If you wanna check him out, download SeatGeek
Just don't always buy into hype
2k16 made him so raw . i always wonder what his numbers was looking like .
Anyone remember when Funky turned Mudiay into a god?
William Hicks whaf in his GM series?
Funky is a god
lol thats how i found out about mudiay
I love Andy's Seat Geek Transitions lmao
Commando Plays not as good as Coach nick’s though
Nah Dom2k has the smoothest transition and a new RUclipsr KlayAllen also has a good transitions
Andy I love your videos bro, I also find it hilarious how the start of the video is super dramatic and leads into a seat geek add 😩😂😩😂
Do an Exum video. Mudiay looks like an AS compared to Exum. That guy is a SUPER BUST.
Alex Perez exam has been unlucky with injuries. He’s not a bust. Non of these guys are busts anyway
Sam Oso they are bust
Do "what happened to keneith ferried
I trusted him. A lot of players show their potential when they're 27-30 and he has a time. But if we think Knicks guard rotation they have to make a choice between ntilikina and mudiay. This 2 young prospects need a time.
Welcome to the Jazz my dude! You'll find your feet here.
Greatness is really about how badly you want it. Mudiay is very talented for sure but I am not too surprised that his career hasn’t panned out like many thought it would. Eman had to play overseas because prime prep had an illegal education system. He used to go to my school back in 2011 so yeah bro!
You should make a follow up video about him proving people wrong. The kid is finding his feet. Even if he holds down a starting position this season that is a good result.

Can you talk about Norman Powell’s journey to the nba?
Ali Ibrahim who ?
I found somebody who did a video on him I'll copy the link underneath this comment. It was pretty good and I subscribed to him cause he does pretty solid analysis
ruclips.net/video/jH3dvd4TcUQ/видео.html
Good thing Denver drafted Murray the following season, rather than sitting and hoping Mudiay would pan out
i don t like where he s career is going
I think that is clear lol
I like your videos, you're objective, speaking clear enough to understand you and always bringing interesting stuff. Keep it up the good work.
Mudiay been low key pretty nice on the Knicks and no one is acknowledging it. He just dropped 22 against the76ers and has a few other pretty good games.
Andy you’re mr favorite youtuber, keep going big things my man !!
Emmanuel has been through so much and has made it so far, he's not just going to roll over and give up. Expect him to rise much like Oladipo did.
As a Nugget fan, I really wanted Mudiay too work out. Too bad it didn't. Never improve his handles, still struggles to finish at the rim, and hitch at the top of his shot sucks. I hope he turns his career around. Seem like a really good person.
Wooo what a small world Damm, the guy lived at my uncles house before he moved to the US I didn’t know he was gonna be this good!!🎊🎉
Every nba video sponsores’s seatgeek
Great vid as always bro!
Sup, Andy! As usual, great stuff. 👍🏅
This player was so hyped up that he was even given a documentary about his playing days in China. I think he is presently in the nba minor leagues.
Nice video andy hoopsssss.i didn't even know he was still in the NBA league ....
From the side he low key look like wiggins
i only remembered him as one of the greatest half court winning circus shot lol
I remember that there was talk when he came out that my Sixers was going to draft him and I was like no.
He's seems lazy as well. Or un motivated
Malik Monk should get more minutes if don't he will end up like him
I believe he could be a good player
Smooth seatgeek transition
nothing going on, as much as i love ballislife they help falsify play styles by providing tape for students , they not to blame but ofc they need someone more exciting with athleticism on their channels. but put him next to more athletes and you see he not as good. ppl watch tape and exploit weaknesses once u in the nba. mudiay had many flaws. praying for Zion cus i really haven’t seen much but i always forget he is also 6’8
I feel that wasting 2-3 years developing a very young very raw prospect is often just a waste of time, money, and space.
Suns are losing because they are tanking.
Marquess Chris literally gets a double double every game when he starts
What the who are you talking about? Last night he did, but take a step back. He has started 45 games this year and has 4 double doubles.
That is not a response to what I said.
Alex Len took 4-5 years to become a solid player, which is quite a while. However, unlike certain other players Len rarely was playing over anyone more deserving. He usually came off the bench, or he just was the best option available. Maybe a year or two in college would have helped him. At the right school with the right coach, he could have improved his game.
Dat smooth SeatGeek segue tho 😎
Speaking as a lifelong Nuggets fan, my problem with Mudiay was he way too inconsistent and way to turnover prone. The guy would have games where he had 3-4 assists and 6-7 turnovers, and that was just way too many.
That is the reality, sometimes the basketballers played good in college but in NBA is different and they have to evolve at their game.
Arath Muñoz some people don't realize how good you have to be to keep a roster spot in this league. Most guys just not that good.
Damn, well I see you've been grinding hard on your videos recently, just like me. One day I'm going to be right up there with you. Just wait on it.
You’ve gotta make a video on Kenneth Faried soon.
Make a video on Jeremy Tyler, he was the FIRST high profile guy to make the jump overseas instead of going to college!!
Andy Hoops I think you need to update this lol Mudiay been balling this year
Music is all depressing during the Seat Geek ad xD
Don't forget, Chauncey Billups, Steve Nash, and Kyle Lowry were all late bloomers.. You hear that *Markelle?*
I'm from Denver and I like muddiay a lot I think he really can turn it around
Remember when his school, Prime Prep couldn't get their academics cleared by the NCAA so Mudiay couldn't play for SMU? Or at least it went something like that
Usually by the last year of a rookie NBA player contract they eventually start to live up to hype but you never know
Emmanuel is one of my favorite players
"Dropped off everyone's radar to the 7th pick" LMAO yeah that makes sense
he's a aau iso baby, the nba needs to get involved in these kids development
I guess you'll have to remake this video by the end of the season because right now it looks like he's finally turning the corner and becoming what everyone expected after all.
The PG position is the hardest to figure out in the NBA, ask Chauncey Billups. Personally I don’t write off any guard prospects until they are 25, Mudiay is just 22 and starting to come into his own on the Knicks.
"behind jalil okafor".
Ok that explains it.
He’s 22 he still has a lot of time to develop his game. He’s far from a bust. Ppl are using the word bust a lil too much
Mudiay is similar to the NBA2K19 Storyline 😂😂
"I guess they're just hoping that at least one of them will be good." Lol that's pretty much it.
I’m hoping he starts to improve for the Knicks but we’ll have to see. He has good flashes but is lackluster most nights. I just want him to back up Burke
He played great off the bench tonight
OOOOH THAT SEAT GEEK PLUG WAS SO SMOOTH CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD
I think he can turn it around. He can develop into a all-star player... if he wants to be.
I still remembered his first professional game, at China.
Got his ass whooped by a 37 year-old Stephon Marbury
He should have went to SMU to play for Larry Brown like he was supposed to do before deciding to go overseas. I believe under his tutelage Mudiay would’ve been a lot more prepared and developed to play the PG position at the pro level. Brown has had a history of coaching if not developing point guards that played at there highest level under him (Iverson, Chauncey Billups, Mark Jackson, Rod Strickland etc.) The biggest mistake he made was not going to play for one of the greatest coaches of all time who specializes in molding PG’s.
Next video : what happened to Kenneth Faried's career or Nerlens Noel's career ?
C. Anthony Cainelovescali made that type of vid on Noel. I reccomend checking it out
He’s doing real well now
What happened to Mudiay?
His weaknesses completely nullify his strengths.
carrastealth he ain't nothing but another elfrid Payton, Dante Exum, mudiay is one of these guards that can't shoot and is a 12 points per game scorer and 6 assists guy that's it
I think Indaina is the perfect fit for him if hes willing to improve defensively
I still Believe in Mudiay....he is a young player Who probably has a lot of time left in his career and that’s enough time To Get his basketball playing efficient
yeah he was the 2nd best player in HIGH SCHOOL against HIGH SCHOOLERS
He’s balling now !
Mudiay's shooting efficiency number are eerily similar to Lonzo Ball. Lonzo is a better playmaker and defender but not hugely better. I'd like to see how this comparison develops
feedback re: background music - the consecutive snares are really distracting/annoying. Consider changing it pls
Great video you should do Doug McDermott next
The real question is how has he managed to stay in the NBA for more than a month. It's totally unfair to all the guys in the G-league.
I like how he slide seatgeek in that kml
I think he can turn it around because first of all he’s only 22 years old and second of all players can have breakout seasons so I think he can turn his career around
2015 draft class might be one of the worst of all time w/the 2014
Leonardo Malvestio 2013 LOL
GOAT thr greek freak, olidipo,, cj mccollum, Rudy gobert. it doesnt seem that bad
Everyone thought Trey Burks was a bust, but look at him now.
