- I finally have my own dream bike! Despite the fact that for the last six seasons I have been riding a Trek Procaliber 9.8 SL bike which I was very happy with. With the new Trek Supercaliber AXS, riding is on a whole new level.
Not all parts ar brand new - sorry, few parts was from my old bike Trek Procaliber 9.8 SL

The mechanic only smile when he completed the build.
Gundars is a very positive person. When he is doing his job he is super focused and serious. When we finished filming the video I asked him to smile at least once for the audience!
Mr. Gunda do looks more like nuclear scientist than a mechanic
He is so deep in the bike service that I would say he is at least a professor or a doctor of bicycles :)
I just finished building my TREK Supercaliber 9.8 XT with the same frame color and I love it :)

I’ve been a weight weenie ever since I’ve been in 2 wheels. Then one day I had a chance to try out my friend’s almost 26lbs Supercaliber 9.7 & it blew my mind!!! I knew I had to have one so I picked up Project One frame & built it up to 9.9 spec. At just over 20lbs with pedals, bottle cage & mudguard (heavy bike for a weight weenie), it’s so far the fastest bike I’ve owned! I’d say go for it :)

Nice bike! I am building up a Trek Remedy that could pass as your stunt double once I get the frame in May. Same frame color way, same Sram AXS drive train, same Shimano XTR brakes...so excellent selection of components! I'll be running Rockshox for suspension though since its stock with the frame. I almost switched it out to Fox, but I want to try the Zeb fork. Your video is great. Enjoy that bike!
Glad to hear that there are like-minded people in the world! I had a Rockshox fork before. My average weight is around 80kg so I was advised not to get the new Rockshox fork but to get the FOX as it will work better on my weight. I don't know how true it all is, but I am super happy with the new FOX fork!
Impressive water bottle cages. Daring choice
I don't bother counting grams. I could put two carbon bottle holders on and save 14g, but these have proven themselves over the years, both in mtb races and in everyday life. Water bottles never fall out of them, and the holders last long and honourably! By the way, carbon bottle holders get sharp edges over time and quite often damage the water bottle. Especially during competitions, when the bottle has to be quickly pulled out of the holder and quickly pushed back in!

Never thought about sanding off inside the stem. Thought just applying carbon grease was good enough.
This thing comes from the BMX world. There, it's compulsory to strip the paint off the handlebars and stem for maximum grip.
Kaspars Garda thx for the tip! Tried this on my kid’s bike with riser handlebar & applied carbon grease as usual. As a result I didn’t have to torque it as hard & it still didn’t move even with a full grown man pushing it hard :)

That is correct. I got my TREK Supercaliber 9.8 XT in Radioactive Yellow to Coral Fade just last week. I paid $5999 on sale but when the bike came in to my local TREK Store I found that the crankset was not the e13th as shown in the specifications and they put a Shimano XT 32T 175mm crankset which is $300 cheaper so they gave me back $300 credited to my credit card so at the end I paid $5699 :) If you have the $$$ do not wait as this color looks amazing, much better than the 2023 available colors.
After watching this video I want Gundars Osis to build my bike more than anything else.

if you put all bontrager where is the dream? its only build the stock bike
Of course, dreams are different and every dream has its price. The two-year Crash Replacement carbon wheels from Bontrager are perfect for me. Of course there are many good bike parts in the world, but these parts have been tested for years and I find them very good! I had no plan to build a super light or super expensive bike.
