Great match if you mute the 3 jabber-jaws trying to guess every shot, including what side the players we're gonna break from. Makes it hard to watch when the commentators just talk to hear themselves talk.
A good example of how important mental strength is for our game. Earl played a nearly perfect match and leads 5:0, but Jasons brutal strong comeback puts Earl under pressure although he was leading. In the end, as so often in such matches, the player with the better break and more consistent safety play won. One of Earls best matches in the last years. He's still a great player when he can focus and keep his emotions under control.Unfortunately, it seems that his emotional maturity hasn't increased over the years. However, Earl's technique still fascinates me - his stroke is a treat for any true pool fan!
Yup, where Earl had a Freudian slip and said the wrong ball, despite clearly aiming at a different one and shooting it dead into the corner pocket, and Jayson decided to throw the rule book at him. Earl decided to quit the match over it, which was the only real thing left to do IMO.
@@gregaclark2 I remember watching it too. Thing is, the rules are there for a reason and in no rule book i've ever read has it said "Freudian slips may be excused by the discretion of the opponent". If i was playing a friend in a pool match for a lot of money and my friend had a Freudian slip, i'd be throwing the rule book at him as well if he tried to get away with it. :)
I remember when Jason was around 13-14 playing in the top division in Glasgow getting exemptions to play because kids weren't allowed in pubs till they where 18,his dad Charlie was a good player too,but seeing him at that age in some rough places holding his nerve,he was only going to the top.
Yep - the skill of the players was great to watch but it was rather boring ..... make a ball on the break you win, if you don't you lose. Too predictable.
Didnt even notice that....it had to be low confidence. I NEVER hit a combo that hard. Rather stupid imo, but cant judge what they were thinking on the table
Except shooting by both players. Wondering why Earl is wearing a wrap on his left for arm. First noticed it during The Legends Tournament. Also was wearing ear protection muffling the Sigel rant! Love it.

Wiley was the best player in the Tourney but Europe won it. Man was their some great players there. I didn't deserve to be in the same room with any of them but had a great time going out with C.J. drinking and playing some snooker.
Great match but I disagree with others - the commentary was a bit irritating- them trying to figure their next move was like predicting New England weather
This is the perfect example on why its harder to listen to pool commentating than every other sport. Its not so much commentating, its conflicting views on whats possible on the table "WELL HES GOT IT HERE i think hes going here THIS IS PROBABLY THE BETTER WAY it can happen this way". Just annoying to listen to when its on every single shot.
It wasnt only that there were 3 of them, it was just plain bad! When a commentator says "I would never guess he would do that!" you know that the mute button becomes more appealing!
Earl had some bad years, when it came to his break game, in 9 ball. I feel like he's finally back to his prime days and I'm so happy to see it. He is a navigator when it comes to moving the rock around and a great break really puts that into motion.
I hope one day pool gets big money sponsors while Earl still plays would be cool to see him win $1M from one tournament. Pool doesn't pay like other sports.
These all timers aren't having Scott Frost lol, he knows so much and is articulate in is speech, I'm proud of him honestly, I've seen him evolve from the pool world.
I got so tired of the announcers stating that the game was over every time after the break or one or two shots, that I muted the video. I enjoyed the last few games much better without hearing them say the game was over before they players had even taken a shot. Also, they are wrong about 50% or more of the time when they try to tell us which way the pros are about to shoot. Better for me to just mute, watch, enjoy and learn with silence.
The commentators need to talk about something else rather than continuing to guess how these players are going to shoot the next ball or 2nd guess the shot afterwords. There is a reason they are commentating and not playing. And, 3 commentators is one too many. Everyone talking over everyone trying to guess something or say how they would shoot. Great editing and great job both players
On every match everybody plays, to alleviate discrepancy, they should have laser lights above the table that shows exactly where the line of the kitchen is and where the break box is, if that is the rule, and an outline or a vertical or horizontal line showing where the rack should be or the 8, 9, or 10 ball, then after the cue ball is placed and the shooter is stroking to make the break shot, the laser lights should be turned off..... Just a thought. 🤔
