I bought one of these to replace a dying Chauvet Obey 40 lighting controller. The smaller form factor is great and the build quality on this unit was solid. I was using a Donner Wireless transmitter and 6 receivers in my system but the wireless built into this controller eliminated having to use the Donner transmitter and the units linked to each other automatically. I also trigger the lights using a Behringer midi foot controller so the midi in on this unit was important to me. The Obey 40 always felt cheap to me for the price and the larger size made it harder to transport unless it was rack mounted. This controller feel more expensive and is quite a bit smaller, especially if you remove the handle. I am very impressed with this controller and feel that is is an excellent value as it is well built, ergonomic and wireless at a lower the cost than my former unit. UPDATE: The MIDI functionality in the controller has stopped working and I can only select scene 1, Bank 1 no matter which MIDI note is sent. I am disappointed because I really like the form factor of this unit but I need to be able to trigger scenes with my foot.
@@stefanie_m466 mine has started doing the same thing, although when I first started using it, I was able to access all the scenes in four different banks. I am returning my unit for another to see if the same thing will happen. I have asked the seller about it and was given the procedure to do a reset but it did not solve the problem. I have a feeling the we somehow fed some control change data that changed some parameter in the MIDI operation that is making this glitch. My Obey 40 worked well with MIDI for years but the sliders were beginning to lose function. I thought this controller would be a perfect replacement but it is flawed in the MIDI department. Amazon no longer even has this model after just a month of my buying it and the new similar models have no MIDI input. I had to buy my model on Alibaba and am rolling the dice on whether it will be the older model or a non Midi one since it will be weeks before it gets here from China. I’m not happy.
@@oddeotek6242 i pressed midi notes while i was in selecting the channel mode and pressed the scene buttons when in midi channel select mode. Only when my sequencer plays only then scene 1 triggers were ever i place the notes. I think the manual doesnt say anything abaut it. I accidently programmed it wrong i guess.
@@stefanie_m466 I wish the manufacturer would show us a more detailed description of how the MIDI functions on this unit work. The manual doesn’t even mention it, much less how to use it.
@@oddeotek6242 got it working, all sliders down, press long(midi add) until in the channel select mode, then press long program then select the bank and press the scene, it flashes then press a note on the keyboard, any note, I press the higher g. then press long program then press out the blackout, then press long midi add and then again long midi add. now the selected scene works back on the keyboard on its original position. so you can try to ad etc bank 5 scene 8. when you did it my way then it should be on a Eb Eflat. if you select the bank 6 scene 1 it will be back on the E note ?? but its works again

Can you trigger differend scenes with midi? mine only triggers bank1 scene 1 on any midi note
