I would normally agree with one country but the bottle you showed was from Carapelli which is a reputable company among the most highly rated major Italian oil producers. If they are using multiple countries it's because a) supplies in Italy and other Mediterranean countries have been difficult due to record temperatures and diaastrously low rainfall and b) they are looking for consistency of taste and so blending carefully. I've been living in Italy for 25 years and have tried numerous oils from across the country. I would have absolute confidence their oil.

My grandmother was from Sicily. She would get large tins of olive oil imported to her from Sicily during WWII till the day she died. I often remembered going to her house and dipping bread in olive oil just chomping it down. The olive oil was smooth, soft and had a gentle taste. I had watched Nick Stellino on PBS one time. He said that the best olive oils have a slightly sweet taste. I've never found one that had that.
That is one of the best ways to test it. thats what I was taught. the brand I buy is all single origin from one farm where they grow, harvest and first cold press their oil all on the farm, in South Australia where I live, so it doesnt leave their property from start to finish until its bottled and shipped out. expensive at $19 for a 700ml bottle but its so worth it for the flavour and how good it is.

I absolutely 💕 your nutrition channel, Annette! Thank you and yes I took became aware that a good, and acceptable EVOO needs to be cold pressed, or even, better, 1st cold pressed in a dark bottle, from one country. Abba/Jesus (Yeshua..( bless you & guard you. Num 6:24-26 Amein!💞🕊️
I use pork fat. I render it myself. Been doing it for years. And at 73 . I'm very healthy.

That's right. Too much calcium in it. @jerrystephens939
@@jerrystephens939you know nothing also. Lard is healthier than any seed oils and best for frying, better than olive oil Infact
@@judymills2362there's no calcium in lard
I would normally agree with one country but the bottle you showed was from Carapelli which is a reputable company among the most highly rated major Italian oil producers. If they are using multiple countries it's because a) supplies in Italy and other Mediterranean countries have been difficult due to record temperatures and diaastrously low rainfall and b) they are looking for consistency of taste and so blending carefully. I've been living in Italy for 25 years and have tried numerous oils from across the country. I would have absolute confidence their oil.
I have done my research and I have settled on a brand called Partanna
What brand do you use? Would of benefited us, if you mentioned it. 🙏
If I remember right I was watching Test Kitchen and Cooks Country on PBS. Their choice of olive oil is Pompeian and Bertolli and other cooks prefer Colavita
Interesting. I read that none of that you mentioned 're good.
Blended with veg oils bc of price. Who to believe ?🤔
I have California Olive Ranch and Bertolli Olive Oils in my house. I like the California Olive Ranch best out of the two.
Vicente thanks for your comments but here Tanzania 🇹🇿 I usually see plastic bottles from Europe it's better to bring the glass dark bottles and real pure olive oil thanks
I just purchased Farchioni Casolare Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a glass bottle (not dark) and it taste amazing.
True. I love it as well. I also like Il Grezzo cold pressed evoo which is amazing too!
Thank you , I learned not to be hasty and get the best .
Thanks for sharing your memories!
Most of the olive oil in stores are garbage. 🤪🇺🇲
I would like to know what is the best olive oil
I buy my olive oil from Azure Standard
The fridge test (pure olive oil will solidify at fridge temperatures) is not fool-proof but is an additional test that you may want to try.
I know that coconut oil solidifies but I had never thought about evoo !
Interestingly the fridge test is not dependable.. I can tell you I tested many brands of EVOO including organic pure. Found none that solidified in 24 hours or even 3 days so I gave up on those tests I follow by the taste .When I drink it a bit and it gives me a little burn sensation in my throat It seems to be the one I like. Does any other seed oils give the same sensation?
I have just tried the fridge method and I found that the fridge only makes it gooey but freezing will solidify it.
So veg oil won't?
My fav is Partanna and when the stock is gone Cal. ranch is my backup.
Unfortunately,The real stuff costs a fortune!
So which one is better
She does not know.
@@truthbetold9215😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Greek origin organic certified ONLY 👌
I buy Braggs, it meets all requirements and its in a dark glass bottle...a few buck extra but worth it.
Braggs is the first of 5 or 6 I've used that gives me the sense that it's the real deal.
I have just started with olive oil and I am using California Olive Ranch medium that is claimed to be good, however it is bland from other countries. The next bottle I have is Atlas Organic Cold Press Extra Virgin olive oil only coming from one country, Morocco. The Atlas may be the better choice between the two.
I Loved this!!! ❤Thank You sooo much!! One day I would love to take classes from the Academy… That is my prayer!!
❤❤❤❤ congratulations... regards from Athens Greece..❤❤❤
I’ve been looking for olive oil that actually tastes good. I haven’t found any yet.
Argentina has great wines, but not many know that it is also a land of high-quality argentine olive oil. We buy it at The Fresh Food Market, We also love olive oil from Greece . So when I see Argentina or Greece in the label I know it will be good!
A very informative video thanks for sharing your knowledge
My pleasure
It should be stored in a dark bottle, but also it should be a glass bottle = that's very important ~ and it should be extra virgin olive oil = very important.
I live in Oklahoma, and unfortunately there are no real grocery store like what I grew with in Texas. So I have to use Amazon for several products. I've done some searches and have found good reviews for the following brand. Atlas 750 mL Organic Cold Press Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Polyphenol Rich from Morocco. Yes there are several better brands out there, but they start at over $50 a bottle and living paycheck to paycheck, those brands will never make it to my current shopping list.
olive oil lovers is a website with good evoo...its inbetween harvests if the hemisheres si they are light..march sometime should bring on new harvest.
@@Tracy-wr7mj They have a good selection of Fall 2023 harvest from Spain and Greece right now, not so much for Italy. I just ordered Entelia and Nobleza del Sur Tradicion 1640 Picual a couple of hours ago.
What ticks me off, is pure olive oil is so expensive, that the common person can't afford it. I use the ones I buy for baking and frying mainly. I don't like a strong olive taste, so I buy the EVOO. It may not be from one country, but it is the only ingredient it shows on the bottle and it is for baking and frying. It is in the medium range of oil prices, but I am trying to give my husband the healthiest we can afford.
Not much help in choosing which to buy.
😮tthank you. I needed to hear this
I get my olive oil from Israel. They grow their own trees and process it there. It is Galilee Green. They are a small business and send you out recipes. Plus you support Israel- God’s people!! The taste is amazing!!

I gave up on olive oil. California olive ranch i used to buy if you make a mix of it and vinegar and water it turns whiteand solid, tastes awful and not really olive oil. All others i looked at in glass bottles had several different countries of origin.
The best is the Tunisian Terra Delyssa which you find in Costco.
yes it is an excellent oil from southern Tunisia. Natural and harvested in the traditional way and has even won a world prize.
@@ahmedatallah8663thanks for info!
Absolutely!!!!! That's the ONLY one I buy. It's also kosher
How about if it just says "Product of Tunsia?" It's from Swanson and is certified organic, but there are no harvesting countries listed.
Use it for all of my cooking and baking. It's good for sauteeing and carmelizing, but it will smoke if you put too much heat on it. On the other hand, if you are frying foods in oil that hot, maybe you shouldn't be eating them.
Thank you for the information I am very impressed at the way you manage your Adds throughout the video they are short and Suttle and hardly even brake the line of information being given very clever
I been buying Filippo Berio which does say that the oil comes from a number of countries but it is packed in Italy. I want to switch to a one origin oil but the cost skyrockets when you find one that fits that specification and that type of oil product is very hard to find here in eastern Massachusetts
Bariani Olive Oil is my favorite.
Best oil virgin olive oil preferred one we are a custom to olive oil is Comes From Marmara region and province of Ayvalik….. first squeeze and cold press that is the best …. You can find this oils in Turkish and some Arabic stores … new manufacturers I really do not buy it plus Spain, some Italian commercial brands and some Hellenic brands are not in my list … never buy olive oil in a thin can or plastic bottle…. No do not forget olive oil can be frozen and paste will still smell fresh olives when you spoon out…. Enjoy it.
Do not forget to check the acidity of the oil…. It’s a must 0.5 or maximum 1 acid…
What about the extra virgin olive oils?
Best olive oil comes from Morocco and Tunisia.
Thanks for watching @GeorgeFlippin! 👩🏼🌾

Don’t recommend Aldi’s because all of the oils contain olive oil’s from several different countries on each bottle!
And Aldi has joined the DEI woke mob.
I'd rather buy cooking oil, from a country that is known for it: hence, Italy or somewhere in Europe.
Aldi's PDO Castel Del Monte ( more expensive than some of their others) says - grown in the region of Puglia southern Italy . Not sure if that's enough or not.
So which one is the best
Ads, ads, ads. I have captions on and while she’s talking about a product there’s even an ad that pops up for it and covers the captions!
I think the best thing to do is to buy a 50# sack of green olives and press the dang things OURSELVES at HOME. Hate the Lying and Corporate Dishonesty and the Dishonesty in the FDA as well. We all are being DECEIVED.
I agree with everything you said except I only buy my olive oil in glass bottle.
red seal on the back bottom right of
dark bottle
cold pressed
I still am going by price
usually you get what you pay for
Thank You for this information.❤
The only olive oil I can get on this tiny island here in the Philippines is the Filippo Berio brand. The label says it is a product of Italy (with extra virgin olive oils from EU origin). It has a use by date but no origin date. I am skeptical about the "olive oils from EU origin"! It does have a fruity taste but also burns my throat slightly when I take it. Am I being fooled here?
Just because it's from one place doesn't mean much these days as they have been shown to dilute with cheaper oils. Especially the more expensive ones.
Thank you for this wonderful information...

You don't want Any Olive oil that says it's blended. And yes want olive oil in a Dark Bottle. AND on the back of the bottle it should tell you when it was Press date. AND a date to use before it goes bad because it's only good for about 12 months.
Easy solution people, eat MORE OLIVES!! Love them with sooo many side dishes 😋
Yes I agree, they're delicious especially the garlic stuffed ones ummm and Kalamata ummm I could eat them every day
which cooking oil is best for frying and baking, Ghee, extra virgin olive oil and Avocado oil?
I like Virginia coconut oil
Avocado, grapessed, Hemp, Walnut, sesame
Unfortunately in New Zealand some of the supermarkets are trying to only stock their own supermarkets brand of so called olive oil. On the bottle it says made in... It's ingredients list more than one kind of olive oil so we just don't know what we are consuming
Mostly all olive oil and cooking oil sold has mix that seems to turn to watery oil
Yes , in a bioshop in Belgium only 2 tested nontoxic
Can you give the Brands/Names please
Thank you so much I was always wondering why the label says multiple countries
What about the olive oil that Vito Corleone imports from Sicily, is that a good one? 😮
Thank you for letting me know about oils and you are right ❤
You should hire a lawyer and sue for deceptive trade practices act (in Texas) if you feel it's fake olive oil. You could win big.
95% of olive oil is fake, take your lawyer somewhere else.
Thank you for the information. Good stuff all around..
I am confused Annette. Could you be more specific about brands, to purchase? Do we solely purchase from one place of origin? Only in the US? What kind do you purchase? Thank you.
Elaine, I'd say throw out everything she said and go get different opinions. In no way did this lady convince me that she knows what she's talking about.
Elaine, I suggest you buy from Costco to get started. They control their process from the Olive groves right to their stores to prevent criminal dilution.
I was expecting she would give names but I think she can't, she probably would be suited...

She didn't even say anything about being extra virgin and cold pressed
organic, that goes for everything you consume
one country of origin
dark bottle
cold pressed
I would guess the most expensive is a good indicator
I didn't know there was so much to take into consideration about olive oil.. I always thought as long as it was extra virgin olive oil it was the good stuff.. Yes, the olive oil that I have been buying have about 4 or 5 different countries listed on the bottle of where the olives came from.. I guess that's why it's like 15 dollars for a half gallon plastic tub and the better quality olive oils that are less than half the size that are in a glass bottle are much more expensive considering the amount..
