We review some mobile and tablet based dashboards, including an entirely new concept for a smart home dashboard that I haven't ever seen before! HA-LCARS author here. Again, thanks for the shout out to the theme, and being able to say nice things about it even though it's not your cup of Earl Grey! To answer your question about right- or left-oriented bars, as far as I know, there's no lore or programmatic reason for one or the other. Just the way the user set it up.
Great job on, it's an extremely well done theme! Keep up the great work!
And yes he confirmed elsewhere in the comments it was a mistake and he didn't notice he had done that 😅
Actually, it is part of the LCARS design. There wasn't really a good reason for, back in the day. Just the way LCARS was supposed to look in TNG, and VOY.
The Unreal Engine dashboard was incredible!
It actually made me realize that, when AR glasses are the norm, we'll just be pointing at devices in a room to interact with them 🙂

As someone who developed for microsofts hololens many years ago, that would definitely not be a problem to achieve.
@@christoffersoderberg Ah, nice. I suppose you had to code different components and then place them in a room using the Hololens? It might be a fun project for the very few developers of Apple's Vision Pro 🙂

The LCARS one, hands down! I use it in my instance but I would love to know how the energy dashboard and animation banner was done.

I'm guessing the "moving carpet fibres" is the sun being realistically simulated for sky position and the moving shadows make the carpet look like it's moving. Which is even cooler!
Time for a new Lewis dashboard? Take us through your design thinking, card type selection And coding approach. Start newbie fruendly and enhance in stages. Could be a video Masterclass series!!!

@EverythingSmartHome, any idea how the graphs in Joey's dashboard fill up the whole cards? Looks a lot better than the default mini-graph-card I feel.

@@EverythingSmartHomeyeah. I first had separate dashboards for mobile and tablet. I sometimes just copied and pasted between the 2. On the tablet, that was one half of a 2 column effect.

What is the name of Birds map card? I like it
I wish there was a way where I could import a self created dashboard image and then almost have hotspot links on that custom image that performed the functions I wanted it to without having to worry about column sizes and card layouts to try to fit in line. Or just let me drag and drop cards around into custom positions.
You can do that already with the picture elements card, if I understand you correctly 😅

😂 Thanks man! Means a lot. I used a guide from a RUclipsr called BitBorn who takes you through it, his dashboard is on another level and I always wanted to make one of my own. It takes some time but it so so so worth it.
Give it a go and if you need some specific help after watching his vids though I’d be more than happy to help!
I got put off originally after watching the amount of work it looked like it took but you shouldn’t be! If you take it step by step you’ll be there in a couple of weeks easily, it’s really not as bad as it originally looks.
Also if you would actually prefer to pay for me to make one drop me a message and I will see if I have some time spare - see what you think of the tutorials first and I’m more than sure you can get it done
