"At this point, i spotted a civic,i proceeded to make an illegal u-turn, expecting a race" LMFAO, your not the only one buddy, everyone wants to race civics
Ha, that is exactly how I got away a few years ago. Found an old dirt road, hit the ebrake and killed the lights. Cop flew by maybe 10 sec later. And what was funny was I have him another minute or two of waiting to put some distance. Got back on my main road and saw him parked on the side of the road clipboard in hand, probably trying to figure out where I went. Thanks for sharing, brought back memories.
Lol at people hating on this video. I have never taken my Cooper S over 110. It's pointless. The car wasn't made for it. It has a fucking 1.6 liter motor.
Man no offense but if you wanted to escape faster, all you had to do was turn right at the first light. Then turn left right afterwards if it was possible and hide. Because the cop was much further back at the beginning of the chase, than he was when you finally hid.
It performs about the same as my 93 accord. 125hp out of a 2.2L single cam. I'd probably have a slightly higher top speed but the computer limits it to 115 mph.
@@dekoldrick I have the r56 (mark 2 of the mini cooper) its faster than the mark 1 and has 120hp naturally aspirated from a 1.6L and only weighs 1150kg pretty sure it would destroy your average accord
You're going to laugh, but one time back around 2001 or so, I was in my modded SVT Contour really close to my house. I had to take a shit really badly so I blew through the stop sign down the road from my house at like 2 AM doing about 50 mph. There was a cop facing the other direction with all his lights out, but he had his interior light on. He was right under a light pole, so I know it was a cop. He must have been doing paperwork or whatever. I see him and I'm like FUCK!! Luckily my house was just around the bend and on the right on the same street. I know he didn't see what kind of car I was driving, so I I just ripped around the turn, cut off my lights and used my ebrake to get into my driveway. Just as I stopped he went flying around the turn and right by my house at full throttle LMAO. That was the only time I ever sort of ran from the cops. It's definitely not worth a life ruining felony if you get caught though. We were both lucky. That was freaking scary though. Especially when I got out of the car and ran into the house lol. The cop was probably like... Where the hell is this guy!? lol.
cool story. I ran away twice both in my 1965 Merkur XR4ti. living in Windsor Ont. I went to visit a friend after going for business slightly north of Toronto. was late for meeting friend at his parent's house as our families were friends from childhood so I was driving too fast with a SUSPENDED license (demerit pts for prior speeding) and cop turns on lights and has to do a U-turn to come after me. I decide to SPEED away thinking I CAN'T afford to get caught. half highway roads and I'm changing roads/ direction very nervous and I end up losing that cop and end up being completely lost (no GPS back in 86). finally find way back to his house and a DIFFERENT cop stops me for speeding but no exaggerated like 1st time (remember I am now even LATER to show up at friend's house) and 2nd cop gives me ticket (speeding) but doesn't impound car and lets me call friend to come pick up car to drive ( suspended license) ...... so NOW COMPLETE EMBARRASSMENT when i try explaining to friend's parents what happened. 2nd time i had no insurance and still drove. dating my newer girlfriend of 2 months or less going to her cousin's 30th BDay. when I spot a cop behind me. i decide to "pretend" to pull into a drive way as if I live there. girlfriend says what am i doing? don't think I replied. stay a little while in driveway then I see cop pulling into a driveway approx a block away and I decide OH OO I better get out of here. back up doing a Uie myself and speed away in direction I came from. come up to busy light and I have to wait then run it when safe and drive into a COMPLETELY closed Mall it was a Sunday back when malls were closed except for a workout gym at the back of the mall where I decided to park the car in hopes I would blend in since running away wasn't working out. ... cops flashing lights spot me after a brief moment guns drawn. take me question girlfriend if I was ABDUCTING her!! .... needless to say no BDay social attending, car impounded .. approx $800 to get out week later can't remember what other fines i got but they were numerous .... and that girl must not have been too bright cause she married me and still together for 25+ yrs

All the people saying this car is slow, it ain't slow, but it definitely isn't fast. It's nippy. Bare in mind this car has 100 or so bhp, a 1.6 litre, single cam, na engine. For all the morons here this is not a Cooper S.The S is a completely different animal. Leaving the factory with 170bhp from a single cam 1.6 supercharged engine, with an easily achievable 200bhp from simply a reduced charger pulley and intercooler.
lol.. I love the "make a break for it" he does as the 'pooolice' are closing in.. at 70 mph on the motorway.. classic. I own a Cooper S, at factory it was fun, cornered well but bumpy as hell and you had to rev the arse out of it, keep it up 5-7k. Fast around corners but in a straight line my old 2.0 VTEC Honda would beet it up to 100 (if not up to 60). I love mine though and with only £310 extra spent last time I gave her a full service (supercharger oil, serp/sux belt) I put in a 15% pulley, K&N Air Induction/FILTER now she flies.
did this very thing a few times. tho i had a VW and had wired a bypass switch on my brake lights. allowing me to turn the brake lights off. I started using the ebrake but lost control a few times while maneuvering around cars on the highway. Its a stupid thing to do but we are all young and Dumb at one point in our lives!
Im not really into these type of cars but to the guy who says a civic can beat this: you probably dont know shit about cars. You think your brothers cai makes that weed wacker so fast to beat this cooper?! Lol mini coopers got class man
I've got a buddy with a 503hp mini type s built motor all that good stuff good wait to power will stomp a lot of stuff that's for the "girls dirve mini coopers" comment the one in this video will prob beat your mercury cougar but anyway well executed get away good thinking on the handbreak that saved u for sure

Yes I'm going to be that guy, but save the racing for a closed circuit. My sister was hit and killed by someone racing illegally and it could have been prevented. PS: Learn how to spell and use correct punctuation.
Sorry to hear that.. But here in Sweden you cannot enter a circuit or the strip in a car without a cage, helmet and so on. Not every car entusiast can afford that. That's why most of us swedes race on the roads. Also, we have next to no tracks at all here..
Haha know that "oh shit" feelings. I would have tried to run from the cops when I was caught at 125 in a 60 in my 05 chevy 1500 z71. Those damn chargers haul ass and caught up to me. Lucky he let me go with a warning, of course after some convincing.
+Snipe Stud00 lol I know that feel, I was in my civic heading out of NYC at 1am. I was doing about 130 heading outta the bronx and spotted a cop over the hill, I hit the brakes as best as possible without locking up the wheel cause no abs. He clocked me at 70 in a 50 and NYC cops have the newer ford Taurus and chargers so no point in running and I had to take the ticket.
I call bullshit as well, besides if you were doing 110 and see a cop why would you even let off in the first place. Everyone can hear you let off the throttle in the video; you're going to jail either way at that point if they catch you, well at least where I live you would.
At 110, less crashing the car what else are you going to lose by staying in it, you aren't technically in a pursuit yet, but I'll tell you right now, if you are going 110 you are most likely going to jail if they catch you anyways. It is a felony offense in itself in many places. However if you are maxing the power-band at 110 you should probably stop and let them take you to jail because they will catch up to you. If you are going to do something like this you have to have it already set in your head whether you are going to run in this circumstance or not. Depending on how fast your car is and how fast they can accelerate up to that speed, letting off could mean the difference between them catching up and you getting away. At this point it's usually too late to be thinking about that. Anyways I don't do crazy stuff. I drive a 1LE Camaro anyways and the DFCO on that thing is loud as hell. The car is loud in general, they would hear me from a block over. I just keep it on the track and I don't have to really worry about it.
Anthony Shipp when you realize that you have screwed up you take a second to think about it. thats why in these chase video people always let off then run.
+HoneyBadgerGaming Yeah the average person. They would have caught up real fast when he slowed down, the majority of police pursuit vehicles are heavily modified and by far faster than this most likely stock mini, Well our state police cars are anyways. Except in this case the guy isn't being chased by cops, he's just driving fast. Heck, there might have even been a cop car there. Sometimes where I live they park them on the side of the road as a form of deterrent. They would have clocked him while he was coming and already been preparing to chase. The video is still just a ploy to get views and the title is misleading. But thanks anyway for bringing me back to the video I forgot to thumbs down it a few months ago.
did u ever try one?? 1.6 211hp JCW ^^ 240km! well..it needs 50'000€ or 64'000$ too ;D dont speak what you dont know or cant aford to know ;) powerfull little car.. im not pissed off, dont get me wrong..i just totally desagree with you
Dude… drive that thing on a road course and wring the hell out of it. Car's not good for straight line. You ever check out how those B-Spec Mini's run? They're nuts!
+Zach Jones You say that but I "outran" the cops in a bone stock 2000 toyota corolla. It isn't as much about speed and power it is evasive strategy. So picking the right road to turn onto, and being able to get your car out of sight as soon as you can. Not saying power wouldn't help, but if there are enough turns and you know the roads you can evade the cops in a 120 hp fwd car (corolla) and if I am not mistaken the non-s cooper makes somewhere in that range (however quite a bit lighter, and the handling is 1000% better haha)
You can't outrun the radio ;) your only chance to successfully evading the police is to ensure he did not get a read on your plate or a detailed description of your car, otherwise its game over..only a matter of time before they find you..especially at night when there are no calls and every cop in town is bored out of their minds.
Scott Brixey Agreed. I went from a 330 HP STI powered Forester XT to a MINI Cooper S. The MCS is actually faster overall when taking in account cornering speeds. The Subaru was a beast in a straight line but couldn't take high speed corners with confidence. MCS is 85% as quick but can handle any corner with aplomb, regardless of speed.
nice of you to put the cop's life at risk as well as the publics. I wonder if he wrecked and died who would of told his wife. Still, glad you realized it wasn't too smart and put up the last note. I only mention this because of a now dead classmate who was doing the same thing you're doing. A tree kill him and his car.
+Austin Osborn So you are saying that you would rather dump a bunch of money into a car that everybody and their brother drives, instead of thinking outside the box and doing something unique. Great mindset.
+Fozee Black did you really say the mini is better than any JDM car? Really bro?? Honda civic/integra type r, nsx, supra, skyline, silvia, evo, wrx....do I need to continue? I respect the "do something different" idea but a stock mini and a stock r34 skyline are not on the same level
+Fozee Black are you serious dude? I have a 91 civic crx with a stock first Gen b16 besides the intake and exhaust mods, the engine is over 20 years old! I ate every cooper s that had ever tried and race me. The cooper in this vid bogs down after it shifts gears where my car stays in the power range and continues to pull without hesitation.
Man if it wasn't for that K&N filter you'd probably be in jail.
lololo hahahah omg dude u made my night
im fuckin dead
lmfao
lmfao
This isn't the type of "run" we were all expecting But i believe you. Nobody likes wasting time with the cops and losing money for a ticket.
"At this point, i spotted a civic,i proceeded to make an illegal u-turn, expecting a race" LMFAO, your not the only one buddy, everyone wants to race civics
If u have a chance to run, I highly recommend it lol
pretty clever, it made me smile when I saw you use a shadow to hide. nice. and good thinkin with the handbrake

That moment you realize you've decided to run from the cops, and your speedo is moving the same speed at WOT as it did under normal driving...
You drive a mini with an intake, I'm surprised the cops didn't run you down 😂
i dont know why you would ever try to make a non s cooper fast lol
lmfao you got away like eminem did in 8 mile hahaha
Lol at people hating on this video. I have never taken my Cooper S over 110. It's pointless. The car wasn't made for it. It has a fucking 1.6 liter motor.

haha

163hp and 130 limited. I’ve done it
You can hear sirens slightly in the background
I dont always run but when I do I like to make eye contact first..
Nice run, haters gonna hate I suppose.

Just putting it out there the e brake is only helpful when you're running lights are off as well as your headlights.
its a NONE S... meaning no Supercharger or Turbo (in newer coopers), so yes it will be considerably slower.
Doesn’t matter how slow your car is all it takes is skill.
Really though he didnt endanger anyone really other than passing the civic. Its not like hes doing it in rush hour traffic

what an idiotic response.

yeah seen in Sweden lots of road just black with rubber
p.s I just got a cooper s gtt 230
I would never run in a mini to slow u need to either make more boost or throw some boost at it
That's literally the slowest I've ever seen a "street racer" run from the cops! I think I just made up my mind about selling my S2000 AP2 and getting a mini cooper s.. I'll keep my S2k

Why would you EVER sell an s2k for a Mini Cooper s?.. Maybe you should reconsider, you don't deserve an s2k.

wtf is this road looks like some grand turismo 5 shit
Take the CAI off. You don't need it unless you have 400 hp or more.
Zach Ullrich depends on the car some NA engines do better with it some don't.
not worth going to jail over.
If you want to get away from the cops get a bike. Better yet, don't do stupid shit and run away at all.
I wonder what It feels like to run away from a cop
theres never been a cop dude there was no one in the opposite way and no one parked after the bridge you hallucinate it lol
if it's not a cooper s or a jcw you wasted your money.
3:19 Hahhaha I think that have saved me a couple of times :D

Not saying power wouldn't help, but if there are enough turns and you know the roads you can evade the cops in a 120 hp fwd car (corolla) and if I am not mistaken the non-s cooper makes somewhere in that range (however quite a bit lighter, and the handling is 1000% better haha)
+ForTheTech I agree but...this guy wasn't running from the cops😄
Zach Jones Haha yeah, It didn't seem to convincing!
You can't outrun the radio ;) your only chance to successfully evading the police is to ensure he did not get a read on your plate or a detailed description of your car, otherwise its game over..only a matter of time before they find you..especially at night when there are no calls and every cop in town is bored out of their minds.
Lol mini cooper
A guy in a mini cooper? Hahaha.
Almost as bad as guys wearing skinny jeans.
What's next?
Mini coopers are defiantly not girl cars. You can shut the fuck up. You probably drive some piece of shit cheap rice.
Scott Brixey AMEN!!!!
Beetles are girl cars. Not mini coopers
Ive got a friend that has an S hes got headers, exhaust, and he's about the redo the whole exhaust manifold. Shits fast AF
Scott Brixey
Agreed.
Excape? lol
Looking for a easy win with a civic? Haha
not your vid.
nice of you to put the cop's life at risk as well as the publics. I wonder if he wrecked and died who would of told his wife. Still, glad you realized it wasn't too smart and put up the last note. I only mention this because of a now dead classmate who was doing the same thing you're doing. A tree kill him and his car.
Why do anything to Mini Cooper...... Just buy a car you can really do shit to, even if it's a civic or integra! There's still more shit to be done
Maybe because some people like to do things outside of the regular JDM scene.
+Austin Osborn So you are saying that you would rather dump a bunch of money into a car that everybody and their brother drives, instead of thinking outside the box and doing something unique. Great mindset.
+miloman812 Mini Coopers are the arguably the most comestible cars on the street today, dont talk smack about it if you've never been inside of one.
