Fantastic work on the biomes! This sort of work is always underappreciated as scattering greenery in a realistic way is way more difficult than it looks at the first sight.
Hey everyone, i know that a lot of people are waiting for part2/2 on light & composition! Thanks for your support! A few weeks after this video release, the blender foundation announced a complete rework of the composition editor, because it would be sad to teach soon to be obsolete knowledge we are waiting for this new feature, we'll probably make separate video about light tricks and transforming your scene from day to night. Thanks for your understanding 🙏

Looks great ! The scatter addon is awesome but I feel like it lacks a few tuts on youtube with real exemples, this video is exactly what I needed. tysm for the video. subbed and liked and definetly looking for the 2nd part !
Lovely tutorial. Even though the documentation is amazing, 😍such materials are needed. It helped me a lot in my work. I look forward to seeing more amazing things ❤
Awesome! I had to to figure out most of this stuff on my own so a video like this will be super helpful to people just coming into this workflow. I also learned a few new tips! Thank you!
So helpful but damn do I always get lost in these totorials trying to figure out why my screen is blank or something dosnt show up. good way to turn a 21 min video into 6 hours tho! :)
I think the system should be revised from ground up with the GEO Nodes. I did some tests and while with GN I can work with a lot of GEO, I wasnt able to do it with this addon unfortunately. Yes, it might work with proxies, points, but in GN i can see what I do all the time and not have to rely on this. I am pretty sure the limitation are from within the partcile system limitations, but more expereicned people know better. I tried do 500 instances (with GN) with a simple biome on them that had to be realized so that grass appeared and it lags. Maybe i did something wrong but you shoudl really try this.
Great breakdown of this process, would the steps be similar for a house in the suburbs? There’s more clutter like other houses so would you just model the subject house/yard and reimagine the background?
I have a question, is it possible to Use in one scene different scatter setups on different objects or scatter 5 works just for one object/surface in scene ?
Nice Tutorial , Looking Forward For Part 2 , Just Got A Quick Question , I Have A Mac And In The Scatter 5 Documentation There Is The Section „Asset Browser Support“ But It’s Only Described For Windows Is There Any Possibility To Get The Asset Browser Files For Mac ?? Thanks Would Be Very Helpful 😉🙏
In the starter library .scatpack, after the installation the assets will be located in your scatter library, you can open this library from our plugin preferences
@@bd3d Is there some tutorial to find and locate your library included in your addon and how to use it with your addon? I bought the Vertical Scapes and I don't know how to find it and use it from your addon. Is there a tutorial for that purpose?
very very helpful.. but I've some problem though, when I choose scatter biome, it doesn't appear in my viewport or render, although I could see the biomes is in the scatter 5 collection layers.. while in your tutorial, when you choose the biome it would automatically appear in the viewport.. any steps that I miss?
Perhaps you hide some important collections by pressing the num key on your keyboard? hard to say without screenshots or .blend file sample. For assistance contact us via blendermarket messaging system.
I have a question. If I buy Geo-Scatter 5.4 does it include Gardener, Vertical Scapes, and Classblade? Or do I have to buy each separately? In the blender market, there are too many packs such as Cloudscapes, Tree Vegetation, Indoorscapes, Treescapes, Islandscapes, Desertscapes, Classscapes, Verticalscapes, Junglescapes, and Creeperscapes. Each one costs more than $50. When I bought Geo-Scatter 5.4 what is the basic pack? It's not explained kindly.
Sure, i use: 1080ti + threadripper + 32GB of ram When working in 3D as a professional, the latest Nvidia GPU, a good CPU, a good amount of RAM & fast SSD is enough. Avoid laptops! Desktops are much faster & cheaper
Allright.. i allways wanted to learn Blender too, as an old 3ds max veteran, so this plugin fills a gap, comming from 3ds max that has got two increadibly important plugins, from Itoo software, Forestpack and Railclone.. as far as i could see this plugin seems to do much of the stuff, Forestpack can do.. which is realy impressive. the only other plugin i still would miss beside of Vray 6 or Corona, would be Railclone.. does there exist for Blender something comparable? I know geometry nodes can do much impressive stuff, but Railclone is an increadibly slick and intelligent parametric modelling tool, that excels in its ease to use, and that combines architectural modelling toools in a unprecedented easy way.. does anyone of you know it? does there exist anything like this in Blender?
Hi Tom It is surely possible to create high-level nodegroups replicating most of rail clone functionalities in blender. Geometry node is a low level functionality, that leads to a lot of possibilities as everything is very flexible, some users already replicated a set of C4D motiongrpahs nodes in blender for example

wonderful work flow here with scatter and biome explorations
Hey! Great fan here, but you know that already :). Rock on!
Very helpful content. We need more for this addon and perhaps archiz modeling too...great job👍🏻!
I bought scatter and wondered how to use it, but that's a good explanation.

The Alt for mulit-set doesn't work in Scatter 5.2 in Blender 3.2.2, but good to see the Copy Paste feature in setting buttons :D

is it worth to change to blender from 3dsmax?
is that scatter 5 is free version or money cost version?
