Gotta give a dislike for a few reasons..... 1: Jak can also control time, not just Clank 2: Jak and Daxter characters were all fleshed out and had their own motives, while Ratchet and Clank characters all feel like stereotypes and jokes for the most part. And saying that Jak's characters lose points for not being good for children is a horrible argument considering we're comparing two games with different ESRB ratings. Jak and Daxter is supposed to be more mature than Ratchet and Clank. 3: You gave Ratchet and Clank two points for practically the exact same thing; more weapons. Weapons and Combat should have been a single category instead of being separate. All in all, this should have been a tie unless you went into overtime with a new category.
World settings, as it would end up Jak and Daxter because the world is the same, however, the time concept plays a major part which reshapes the world to a more horrid one. Each action has lead to what was to be expected. Ratchet and Clank sadly don't have a lot of choices unless you are talking about Ratchet and Clank 3, and Deadlock which are just hubs.
Ratchet and Clank have much more easter eggs and secrets than Jak. In Ratchet and Clank you can unlock a special place for beating the game to 100%. And Jak dont have that.

He was talking about kiera but it showed ashlen, he called eco echo, he said clank could control time but so can Jak, he didn't even mention most of the jak characters but he mentioned the ratchet and clank characters, he forgot to mention daxter the game, he forget the collectibles in each game, he also forgot the cheats and secrets to the game, he forgot Jak X, he forgot that Jak is open world, and he forgot to say that Jak is a better game. Sorry if my Jak fan boy is showing. I've played both Jak and Ratchet and I just like Jak better. And the only reason why Ratchet and Clank is continued is because Resistance is not a good enough IP. The first resistance game was good but the second was horrible in my opinion. And I'm going all over the place. Sorry.

Jak trilogy (2004) vs all 14 Ratched & Clank games (2002-2016). It should have been the first THREE Ratched & Clank vs Jak trilogy. Obviously the characters have more development over 14 games, more weapons and improved gameplay, and way more memorable situations. Thank you that was my exact point! and then on top of that for him to give the point for best characters to ratchet and clank when all of their characters are super cookie-cutter and corny made no sense. Nobody will ever forget a character from Jack and Daxter but I couldn’t tell you a character from ratchet and clank and mind you I played every single one of their Games but none of their characters left any sort of impression on me. It’s a great game but doesn’t hold a candle to the Jack and Dexter legacy
I am fully aware that Jak can use his light eco to freeze time, controlling time is speeding it up, travelling through time, and slowing it down, Jak can only do one of those things, while Clank can do all

So it's a yes and no sorta thing. Also, I am completely aware about Jak's eco abilities. Blue eco, yellow eco, red eco, green eco, light eco, and dark eco. Not to mention his morph gun, his real name, etc.
I’ll admit ratchet has better gun gameplay but as a beat em up and hack and slash fan the combot is more fun in jak for me cause I like super powers and beating up dudes with dark jak that ground slam move is very satisfying
But jak can slow down time aswell, and daxter can use dark eko to turn into dark daxter, jak can hold 12 weapons at ounce and daxter is able to use them while jaks on a vehicle. Anything else my miss
It was decent in my opinion, but the producers screwed up a lot of things. They screwed up Ratchet, Clank, the story, Nefarious and so many other things.
the last round is a lie. Jak can fly, stop time, create a shield and a lot of more stuff... and ratchet can... well... only shoot weapons (jak can too)
I couldn't even make it to four minutes before cringing, learn how to pronounce words, eco is said so many times throughout the trilogy yet they pronounce it incorrectly, play the games before doing a video about them.
I feel that they honestly pushed Jak and Daxter aside a lot. They obviously didn't do as much research into it as they mispronounced Eco, misidentified a main character, and didn't even bother to mention much of the main legacy that includes even more important characters. They also basically did the same category twice which just gave Ratchet and Clank a free point.
Am I the only one who thinks they didn't do Ratchet & Clank justice even though they won? I agree that the Jak and Daxter story is superior to the Ratchet & Clank PS2 era story but the Future saga made the story of R&C much, much better. I know this isn't what many R&C PS2 fans believe but that's just my opinion. Also, giving a point to R&C in the characters category because they're "more kid-friendly and funnier" is stupid. The main characters have a lot of backstory and Ratchet progresses a lot as a character throughout the series; he grows from cynical and selfish to, yes, funnier and more carefree, then is transformed into a more responsible and mature hero because of what he goes through in the Future saga and during that time he learns how to overcome his tragedies and learn from past mistakes, something especially apparent in Into the Nexus. Clank is an inseparable part of Ratchet's development, which truly shows how important their friendship is. Sure it might make Ratchet feel more dependent on another individual while Jak seems to be emotionally stronger but what's a compelling character without weaknesses? Here they made the characters seem like they're just for laughs with no complexity whatsoever (Don't count Qwark. I'm talking about the protagonists.) I might be overdramatizing this but that's what I felt Ratchet & Clank is all about and that's why I became a fan in the first place. I also love Jak and Daxter but for some reason Ratchet appeals more to me. Both are amazing franchises with extraordinary stories and beautiful characters, let's just leave it there and praise the PS2 hero era.
You guys absolutely ignored the fact that Jak alone has abilities and weapons, where Ratchet only has a stockpile of weapons. Jak clearly wins that category. I don't feel anyone actually dove deep enough (played more than an hour or two) into the Jak games to understand the characters. You also completely ignored Jak X and "Daxter" where the same characters from Jak II and Jak 3 return in new conflict and Daxter gains abilities of his own. By the way, it's pronounced "ē-koh." I've played all Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter games. I completely agree both are great, Ratchet and Clank definitely deserves all the praise given; except for the character depth. All but a handful were disposable across the entire series. I feel this needs to be redacted after the staff does better research. Good luck, thanks for giving these two great series some love.

It's the opposite. I have both Trilogies, but I prefer the Ratchet and Clank series over Jak & Daxter series. But I do see why people love the Jak & Daxter series and hope that maybe they can get another game someday.
Combat and gadets is an unfair doubling of the same category. and the characters in jak and and dexter have a way better chemistry then ratchet and clank. the pace of interaction is way better. and loosing this category due to having the deeper character creation is not amusing.
If we're going off of pre-future series then i agree. Imo, RC has way better emotion in the three future games (4 counting a DLC one). They ventured on character development WAYYYY more.

By only doing combat instead of gameplay in general, you neglect platforming which is a big part of both games. Arguably it's even biggerin Jak making it quite unfair. Also I'd argue Ratchet has a much bigger legacy than Jak as it's had major installments on 3 separate console generations, and is still going strong. Hell, the most recent one only came out last year and was warmly received. I'm sure Jak would be appreciated a new game came out, but as it stands it's been left to die.

Well i don't agree. First of Jak and Daxter has way better characters. They actually have depth and most of them (atleast in Jak 2) are not supposed to be funny. But still Daxter gives enough comedic release. The story of Jak and Daxter is actually about them and needs them and their character traits while Ratchet and Clank feel a bit replaceable in comparison. And confusing Ashley with Keira actually shows how much attention you showed to their characters. Including Weapons in a combat and a weapon category is kind of biased too. Turn them both into one or don't include the weapons in the combat category. Making it all about the weapons seems a bit unfair to me.
It's interesting how most of the comments are from people who were rooting for Jak and Daxter. Makes perfect sense seeing as how the losing team usually have more to say to defend who they thought should win, while the winning side are just satisfied their team won and have no need to or don't care enough to look at the comment section let alone comment on it.

I’m a year late watching this...... Wish I didn’t had to give a thumbs down. The topics giving wasn’t well researched while 2 of the topics were basically the same. If they are going to compare Jak to Ratchet they should only stick to the ps2 games collections. Both are favorites but more in favor of Jak.

I owned both series but I feel like Jak and Daxter was an experience of a lifetime... it was like the Game of Thrones of my childhood. I felt like the characters were growing up alongside me. I'll never forget my first time hearing Jak talk and his curse word; I was at Walmart in the game section and they showed the trailer of Jak 2 on one of tv's and I was blown away. I played so many hours of all of the Jaks, Jak and Daxter Precursor Legacy, Jak 2, Jak 3, Jak X Combat Racing, and even Daxter's solo project... but I refused to even pick up Lost Frontier. I knew from the very beginning that the game was going to be bad... it wasn't even made by Naughty Dog, so I don't even count it. Neither was the Daxter solo project but I feel like the team behind Daxter was more Naughty Dog oriented than fcking High Impact Games who made Lost Frontier

Can we all just agree that if you're going to do videos on games at least do your research otherwise you'll end up pissing off people, especially if you're the narrator. It might not be his job to research but I'd rather have someone who genuinely loves gaming narrate just saying.

Jak trilogy (2004) vs all 14 Ratched & Clank games (2002-2016). It should have been the first THREE Ratched & Clank vs Jak trilogy. Obviously the characters have more development over 14 games, more weapons and improved gameplay, and way more memorable situations. What Ratched & Clank did in 14 games is what Jak matched in three games, EXCEPT BETTER.

Nobody will ever forget a character from Jack and Daxter but I couldn’t tell you a character from ratchet and clank and mind you I played every single one of their Games but none of their characters left any sort of impression on me. I couldn't even make it to four minutes before cringing, learn how to pronounce words, eco is said so many times throughout the trilogy yet they pronounce it incorrectly, play the games before doing a video about them.

I feel that they honestly pushed Jak and Daxter aside a lot. They obviously didn't do as much research into it as they mispronounced Eco, misidentified a main character, and didn't even bother to mention much of the main legacy that includes even more important characters. They also basically did the same category twice which just gave Ratchet and Clank a free point.

I agree that the Jak and Daxter story is superior to the Ratchet & Clank PS2 era story but the Future saga made the story of R&C much, much better. I know this isn't what many R&C PS2 fans believe but that's just my opinion.
Also, giving a point to R&C in the characters category because they're "more kid-friendly and funnier" is stupid. The main characters have a lot of backstory and Ratchet progresses a lot as a character throughout the series; he grows from cynical and selfish to, yes, funnier and more carefree, then is transformed into a more responsible and mature hero because of what he goes through in the Future saga and during that time he learns how to overcome his tragedies and learn from past mistakes, something especially apparent in Into the Nexus. Clank is an inseparable part of Ratchet's development, which truly shows how important their friendship is. Sure it might make Ratchet feel more dependent on another individual while Jak seems to be emotionally stronger but what's a compelling character without weaknesses? Here they made the characters seem like they're just for laughs with no complexity whatsoever (Don't count Qwark. I'm talking about the protagonists.)
I might be overdramatizing this but that's what I felt Ratchet & Clank is all about and that's why I became a fan in the first place. I also love Jak and Daxter but for some reason Ratchet appeals more to me. Both are amazing franchises with extraordinary stories and beautiful characters, let's just leave it there and praise the PS2 hero era.

You guys absolutely ignored the fact that Jak alone has abilities and weapons, where Ratchet only has a stockpile of weapons. Jak clearly wins that category. I don't feel anyone actually dove deep enough (played more than an hour or two) into the Jak games to understand the characters. You also completely ignored Jak X and "Daxter" where the same characters from Jak II and Jak 3 return in new conflict and Daxter gains abilities of his own. By the way, it's pronounced "ē-koh." I've played all Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter games. I completely agree both are great, Ratchet and Clank definitely deserves all the praise given; except for the character depth. All but a handful were disposable across the entire series. I feel this needs to be redacted after the staff does better research. Good luck, thanks for giving these two great series some love.

Combat and gadets is an unfair doubling of the same category. and the characters in jak and and dexter have a way better chemistry then ratchet and clank. the pace of interaction is way better. and loosing this category due to having the deeper character creation is not amusing.

By only doing combat instead of gameplay in general, you neglect platforming which is a big part of both games. Arguably it's even biggerin Jak making it quite unfair.
Also I'd argue Ratchet has a much bigger legacy than Jak as it's had major installments on 3 separate console generations, and is still going strong. Hell, the most recent one only came out last year and was warmly received. I'm sure Jak would be appreciated a new game came out, but as it stands it's been left to die.

Well i don't agree. First of Jak and Daxter has way better characters. They actually have depth and most of them (atleast in Jak 2) are not supposed to be funny. But still Daxter gives enough comedic release. The story of Jak and Daxter is actually about them and needs them and their character traits while Ratchet and Clank feel a bit replaceable in comparison. And confusing Ashley with Keira actually shows how much attention you showed to their characters. Including Weapons in a combat and a weapon category is kind of biased too. Turn them both into one or don't include the weapons in the combat category. Making it all about the weapons seems a bit unfair to me.
It's interesting how most of the comments are from people who were rooting for Jak and Daxter. Makes perfect sense seeing as how the losing team usually have more to say to defend who they thought should win, while the winning side are just satisfied their team won and have no need to or don't care enough to look at the comment section let alone comment on it.

I’m a year late watching this...... Wish I didn’t had to give a thumbs down. The topics giving wasn’t well researched while 2 of the topics were basically the same. If they are going to compare Jak to Ratchet they should only stick to the ps2 games collections. Both are favorites but more in favor of Jak.

I owned both series but I feel like Jak and Daxter was an experience of a lifetime... it was like the Game of Thrones of my childhood. I felt like the characters were growing up alongside me. I'll never forget my first time hearing Jak talk and his curse word; I was at Walmart in the game section and they showed the trailer of Jak 2 on one of tv's and I was blown away. I played so many hours of all of the Jaks, Jak and Daxter Precursor Legacy, Jak 2, Jak 3, Jak X Combat Racing, and even Daxter's solo project... but I refused to even pick up Lost Frontier. I knew from the very beginning that the game was going to be bad... it wasn't even made by Naughty Dog, so I don't even count it. Neither was the Daxter solo project but I feel like the team behind Daxter was more Naughty Dog oriented than fcking High Impact Games who made Lost Frontier
