Electric Mountain Bike Network - the best channel for eMTB shenanigans 💪
Went to the 2023 Sea Otter classic and noticed the Vitus bikes is coming out with a new eMTB using the Bafang M510 motor. The prototype frame looked great and I am sure has the right geo numbers, I hope to demo one in the next few months

I am super glad that either Shimano and more competitors are now getting into the market. For so long, Bosch and Yamaha have been dominating and kinda adding their premium to those bikes. While those wont vanish for some time, once competition is strong enough, we are going to see some well made, sportive and enduring ebikes in the future. Looking forward to it!
Yamaha has dominated nothing !?! Shimano and Bosch cover most mainstream brands. Best motor on the market is the Dyname 4.0

The brakes on that vent are pretty bling. But the engineers were clearly bothered by only having 1 place for your pants to get stuck. So they added another besides the tried and true chain ring.
Innovative design for sure.

Great coverage Steve. There’s a new battery tech that will be with us in a couple of years which will give 500watts/kg, basically twice the power to weight of current batteries. This should save a couple of KGs so paves the way for truly full power no compromise enduro bikes at a about 20Kgs. Maybe worth looking into.

Test the base model bikes. If you can afford to spend more it's likely you'll know what the better spec brings. Or you're that rich you don't care.

Error, motor for Rotwild Rx.375 gives 85hm, not 60. This is a full motor on a light e-bike

95 nm of Bafangs M510 is just moderate power. Bafangs top performer M620 has 160 nm.

Until solid state batteries come out to decrease the weight of the full enduro 85nm+ with 720w+ batteries I'll keep my Rocky Mountain and YT Decoy :)
