The knobs on oil lamps (which have a similar look as your light) are on the right side. I think that’s why the knob is placed where it is, to mimic the oil lamp look.
Good call on the sisal rug. Definitely too scratchy for the baby! You may want to stick with a larger square footage for your home. Once you have your children you may need it!

I think the lantern is designed for the cord to go down the back of a table with the knob on the right side.
It's amazing how quickly little ones can take over your house as they grow. I'm a special needs nanny educator and know this for a fact. My family and I are constantly moving things for their daughter as she grows. They grow and learn in a blink of an eye. She constantly amazes us with the things she learns and gets into.
I could totally see you, Connor and your family living in the country in an A-Frame house!!! Lots of natural light, perfect for a wood stove or maybe a sunken living room with a fireplace like the one in White Christmas in the main house where the dining room is. The Uppland is new. It replaced the Ektorp which is probably what you saw before, but it’s larger.

For sectionals it’s a bit of an investment but we LOVE our Home Reserve one! We were able to find it used but we are going to order different cushion covers from the site at some point. They have built in storage, break down to flats, and you can reorganize the whole thing later if you need to or order additional seat sections/end seats later on!
It is just as well that you didn’t buy a couch if you’re planning to move. It might be wise to make due with what you have until you find your new house, because what works for your current home might not fit your future home.

We want more outdoor space which we have none of right now. The small house would be for a few years to help us save money for our dream home and then eventually use the small home as an income property
Congrats on your beautiful baby boy. Me and my husband have 4 kids. We got over the smaller home living really quick. Even with just 2 kids. It starts to feel like you're on top of each other 24/7.
Can't wait to see where and what route you guys take in your future home. I already know it's going to end up beautiful. 😊

Ikea is great for a walk with the baby. Plus you get free coffee. When my kids were 1 and older they loved playing in the toy area 💗we had the cutest animal puppets from there

I live in the UK &Ikea has got ridiculously expensive here too. Please could you possibly link those dimmable light bulbs you got from Amazon if possible? I'd really appreciate it. I got the ikea bulbs & the filaments burn onto your retinas even when it's turned down. Your bulb gives such a lovely warm light.

I have never shopped at Ikea before and because of that I always felt like I was out of touch with everything but seeing the prices and the outdated furniture pieces don't appeal to me, I do like that lantern lamp you got. Also for future video requests can you show us how your baby shower went, it looked absolutely angelic.
IKEA can’t be beat for a few things. The tables are handy and storage is good. I vote no for the rest of the furniture. I’m a true blue Ethan Allen fan and advocate for getting quality furniture at higher end consignment stores.
You should see the prices in ikea in Sydney 😳 it’s still probably our cheapest furniture store but it’s so much more than the rest of the world for the same product in Australia 🙄

Ikea in Canada has also skyrocketed in price. Not always worth while and what would be is never in stock
