I went to the disco in the late 70's and it had an illuminated dance floor which was brilliant (think Saturday Night Fever). Disco's in Manchester didn't.

I saw it a few years back and it looked so old. I wondered why it hadnt been bought right by the beach there. It could be so many things. i used to go to Toad Hall it was only part of it wasnt it? I never went to the Lido but my friends did. Did this artist Paul get permission to do that? Is it even up for sale do you know. If I had spare cash Id do something with it but I guess it would take a lot to repair. Ive seen inside now I guess it would have to be a new build. Be nice if the framework could be kept. Oh yes I think I remember the bear. It was a bit of a dive back then but it was ok. I recognise the place. Thanks for going in and doing this. I get so interested and would have been tempted myself.

Thanks for taking the time to write a comment. The council own the building but I’m not aware of them ever offering it for sale, wonder why? They also paid the artist to go the mural. The inside actually isn’t too bad, mainly it’s watertight (and there’s work going on right now to maintain and fix the roof and structure to keep it intact). I’d think it could work well as holiday let’s or even permanent apartments given it’s location.
It’s great that you actually used to go to the Toad Hall part of it, it’s great to bring back memories and keep the older buildings of our towns around and relevant where we can rather than demolishing them.
