No one can truly appreciate how hard it is to film solo (at such high quality with so many different angles), especially on skis, feeling sick, with so much climbing. Well done as always Danny.
Yep. Among other things, I do Video Pro as a job and I backcountry ski on the side...Danny impresses me with his shooting and editing chops as well as his kick azz physicality! Stay hydrated Danny! I feel like giving you a IV half way thru this...but DAMN! love the never quit attitude! Sua Sponte Dude!
Dude you probably needed more Sodium! Plain water can throw off the electrolyte balance. Shout out to the CamelBak podium bottle though! Trust me, I was a puke-fest at Western States 100 bc I drank too much plain ice water. Also when you mentioned Grand Canyon R2R2R and feeling crappy again like that....that is an easy one to get dehydrated on....mix in altitude, tons of climbing, losing a lot in sweat (warmer conditions). The Top Ramen will deliver the sodium! In any case glad you made it down safe (despite being solo and feeling so sick). Big fan of the channel - keep up the excellent work!
You are absolutely right! I am surprised he doesn't. I take plenty of electrolytes. I will never drink just plain water and I have never puked once while doing a long hike.
Danny, you're a machine! I don't know anyone who could have done this trek, or survived how bad it got. The extra climbing/distance/work/time it took to get all the amazing shots....well, great for us, not so much for you! Awesome job as always, and you a friggin' stud for self-extracting. Brutal day! Thanks for always providing such great content!!
I remember being on a rescue on Mt. Hood, and a coupla climbers were in distress - they came down to .. basically.. safety... and I put my hand one of the guys' shoulders and he yelped and recoiled in horror! Just TOUCHING him hurt. I know how that feels.
Thank you for the motivation. This is truly what adventure is all about. Horrible suffering and regret while doing it, then convincing yourself it was amazing and doing it all again the next week. Great work as always.
Wow a miracle happened, RUclips send me a notification for Mediocre Amateur video 👏👏😅 Awesome video and adventure in epic scenery! 😍 This was a serious effort so kudos for filming yourself along the way, that made it even more difficult! But pain goes away and wonderful memory and video are here to stay 😎
Never has vomit looked so good. That new 360 camera really brought out the details. All in all, amazing adventure and excellent camera work. Thanks, Danny!
I am glad you survived to post this great video. Feeling sick while alone and far from help can be challenging. Your persistence and endurance shows character.
Oh Danny, you poor thing! I feel so bad for you, that seemed so difficult and unpleasant. Thank you for filming in spite of being so sick. I hope you recovered quickly.
This video has it all! Danny on another epic adventure...a wet t-shirt contest...amazing scenery...and (Spoiler)...almost non-stop "Action"! Official Counter: Mediocre Amateur videos since Danny's last puke: ZERO! Danny went all in and really stepped up the the plate (leaving a brown splatter in the snow) multiple times. Welcome back Skeletor! The stats for this adventure are truly huge. Very impressive. And with that...the Official Counter is retired. If you and the other Mediocres find yourselves back in Aspen, let's connect and I'll show you around.
Just the cinematography of this video alone was awesome. You can tell you really put the extra effort in to get a variety of shots. That was all on top of actually doing climb while sick. Impressive dude!
Dude, I always appreciate your monsterly awesomness, but doing this alone was too risky. Even if you have a Garmin inReach with you, what if there had been an avalanche? Swimming, diving, climbing, rondonee… The buddy system saves lives. Cheers from a concerned superfan.
Dude, you know that turning around IS an option. The mountain isn't going anywhere! Glad you had respectable weather, that could have been bad in a whiteout. Glad you are safely back. Looking forward to more cool videos, puke-free preferred.
Wow! Crazy impressive, looks like a good time. Every time I come to grand Teton I think about trying to break into the ski mountaineering scene but always get nervous about going alone and back out
Danny, you should do what Christof does when he gets exhausted XD. Blame the skins, binding and ski weights. If that does not work, it was the snow conditions. BTW - That had to be your greatest puke fest ever. It sounded hideous. Hope you recover XD. You inspire me to do stupid and unrealistic adventures and now, more and more, I complete them (w/o dying). Thank You!!
Nothing like starting the day off with a sweet new Mediocre Amateur video! Where can a guy get a MP3 of your intro music? I would LOVE to add to my collection of adventuring music.
I know you're all about the Cokes and junk food (as are many ultra runners) but I highly recommend switching to something specifically formulated for long days like Hammer Perpetuem. IMO, makes a huge difference for powering through those walls that come up.
wow dude, big mission to go solo. glad you got to ski such good snow and that you made it back to the car safely. and thx for the entertaining you tube content.
I hope you feel better. With your deep love for winter sports, I can only imagine your sadness when the seasons change. At least you can go bike riding now. 😁
dammm, buddy! you are a machine :D, it's so weird to see you skiing alone this time but I'm glad you made it back safely! following you a for a long time, love your channel! Greeting from Israel :D
I've never puked on a climb but I've felt "not good" many many x. The only thing that tastes ANY GOOD on a hard climb for me is orange gatorade and croissants and mebber some italian sausage and / or string cheese. Otherwise I won't eat, will get too far out of the energy curve, and will crash. You did a GREAT job with very challenging conditions. Fantastic video.
I'm really impressed. It's hard to find motivation filming when you are on your own or sick. But filming when sick and alone, that's a completely different level!
That was wild! I've experienced the same thing with the non-stop puking on many occasions. Only cure for me is sleep. Otherwise it gets exponentially more violent haha. Great video!
Yessssss..... Thursday motivation video before the weekend starts. Man...you were tired... puking didn't stop you. 🤮. There should be a separate puking episode 🤮😆 Glad you made it down safely.
that totally reminds me of your Grand canyon trip. I'm sitting here having a glass of wine looking up at the mountains waiting for my insta pot oxtail soup to be done and I am so glad that I'm watching you do that and I'm here right now thank you. The bravery and courage are off the charts be safe out there, unbelievable footage. where the hell is cristoff at? that guy can't keep ignoring his voicemails, lol.
Glad you're ok after that. On reflection, I wonder if you may feel you should have turned around rather than summit? I do hope you didn't press on in order to get the summit shots for the video. I wish you well for your recovery.
Great vid as usual. This is the first video I noticed the GoPro Max 360 camera. I have long wondered if you’d start using one because they lend themselves well to your style of videos. I love mine for family videos. Sorry about all the barf. Dang that looked tough. I watch your videos while exercising on the treadmill or rower. Thanks for what you do.
Wow, kudos as always but even more so here. Way to hold it together, good turns, and good footage! Such a different approach than Cody Townsend in The Fifty
I didn't understand what the "Sick and Solo" meant until Danny starting barfing until his voice gave out. Glad you are ok and that you had an injureless (?) trip! (Besides the puking)
wish I had read the vom content warning before pulling this up on my TV 😂 way to tough it out Danny this is an amazing climb and the turns looked spectacular
Dude - Solo filming and riding amidst multiple vomits on a big day. that's sheer dedication for the cause. insane. this channel is awesome btw. come back to Canadian Rockies!
The feeling strong then weak could be a drop in Blood Oxygen. Do you carry a meter, the kind you clamp over one finger? Of course, if you're moving, it goes lower. Sit for a few minutes and it pops back up. 95 is a good read at that altitude. If it drops below 88, slow down.
No one can truly appreciate how hard it is to film solo (at such high quality with so many different angles), especially on skis, feeling sick, with so much climbing. Well done as always Danny.
so much extra work to film alone
Love your content too tho 🔥🔥
both of you guys make amazing videos. I appreciate you both
@@stephenclark15 Right putting the camera down and walking past, then returning to pick up the camera got to add a ton of miles.
Most underrated channel I've ever been subbed to. You guys gotta advertise or something, because the stuff you do is unreal!
This.
I agree
The quality of the content from this channel is so far above anything else out there, it's amazing.
.....the reason that it's so good is because they don't advertise. why would you want that
Amen! Always enjoy watching every video from these guys ☺️
Dude you probably needed more Sodium! Plain water can throw off the electrolyte balance. Shout out to the CamelBak podium bottle though! Well said Sage.
You are absolutely right! I am surprised he doesn't. I take plenty of electrolytes. I will never drink just plain water and I have never puked once while doing a long hike.
Danny vomiting is like the groundhog not seeing his shadow: it's the announcement that spring climbing season has officially begun! Let's go!!!!!!
Great to see you here 😀
@@alexsavon2676 Thanks Alex, you too. I never, ever miss an MA video!
Danny, you're a machine! I don't know anyone who could have done this trek, or survived how bad it got. This was an absolute sufferfest and glad you made it back safely, you are a legend, thank you for this amazing content!
Still one of the more beautiful places one can vomit. Thank you for capturing it on 360 in all its splendor.
Thank you for the motivation. This is truly what adventure is all about. Horrible suffering and regret while doing it, then convincing yourself it was amazing and doing it all again the next week. Great work as always.
Best thing about Danny doing it alone, he finally gets dope videos of himself crushing it!
Danny's solo wet T-Shirt contest had me laughing 😂 In all seriousness, this is an insane achievement to do solo. I'm glad you made it home safely man!
Love the epic ski montage then “puke”. Back to ski montage.
Never seen Danny so beaten down, but he still delivered the jokes and the footage.
Dan the man going full skeletor. Been there once. I can’t even imagine filming in that condition. Great video
Never has vomit looked so good. That new 360 camera really brought out the details. All in all, amazing adventure and excellent camera work. Thanks, Danny!
I am glad you survived to post this great video. Feeling sick while alone and far from help can be challenging. Your persistence and endurance shows character.
Love the epic skiing and music suddenly cut by silence and vomiting. Great editing.
You are a beast...maybe try some Zofran to prevent recurrent nausea....Hydrate....hydrate .....hydrate......awesome video
Awesome video, the good and the bad. So glad you made it back safely and hopefully you started feeling better soon after. Be careful out there Danny.
Yikes ! I’m a mom - be careful !! It beautiful & glad you made it safe & sound
Man. Listening to you talk at the end I think you were worse off than you realized. Glad we got to watch this.
Danny- These last four episodes have been your best in a long time!
Oh Danny, you poor thing! I feel so bad for you, that seemed so difficult and unpleasant. Thank you for filming in spite of being so sick. I hope you recovered quickly.
mebb 12 hours later, a pizza and a nice pint of hand pulled beer will be just the rx. It might take awhile tho! :) It was heroic.
That. Descent. Was. Sick.

Thanks to your videos I always get motivated to go to the mountain even when my crappy friends dont want to go!
That opening shot of Mt. Moran in first light is amazing! I'd watch a 10 minute video just of that view. Amazing video as always!
The skiing footage was unreal! Great colur, and super steady! Great adventure too!!!
Dude, you know that turning around IS an option. The mountain isn't going anywhere! Glad you had respectable weather, that could have been bad in a whiteout. Glad you are safely back. Looking forward to more cool videos, puke-free preferred.
WOW Danny! Glad you made it back but hate that you had to ski ⛷ feeling so sick. Breathtaking views of the mountain 🏔. 👍🏻😱
Wow! Crazy impressive, looks like a good time. Every time I come to grand Teton I think about trying to break into the ski mountaineering scene but always get nervous about going alone and back out
Glad you made it safely back down the mountain!
Alone, sick and outside sucks. Glad the weather was on your side. Thanks for the content.
Danny, you should do what Christof does when he gets exhausted XD. Blame the skins, binding and ski weights. If that does not work, it was the snow conditions.

Wow. Classic. Sooo good. So much pain and suffering. Such great photography, cinematography and story telling ❤️👌😎
You are truly amazing Danny. It blows me away you would attempt a summit like that all alone. So glad you're corpse beacon was needed. 🙏👍
Music and that 360 footage were sick! Great content as usual! 🔥🤙

You are Hardcore beyond belief. A straight up Hero and beast.

What a machine!!!
Awesome and inspiring channel guys!
Not surprised you munted. Summer sun with the reflection and big vert gain
doing this line solo is a feat. doing it solo and making a really good youtube video while doing the line is unreal. Well done man!
Nice edit, lots of variety and mix-up in snow quality- and body fluids.
I hope you feel better. With your deep love for winter sports, I can only imagine your sadness when the seasons change. At least you can go bike riding now. 😁

Danny, that was brutal and amazing to watch at the same time. Glad you made it back safe!
Zofran is amazing. Seriously.
The BEST homemade adventure channel!
Amazing Video Danny hope your feeling better.
Glad to see you gutted it out Danny! No pun intended. That was a hard one for sure.
That’s one way to get the most out of your experience… That single cab Tacoma is what’s up!
I've never puked on a climb but I've felt "not good" many many x. I always get so excited when a new video comes out! Love it!
Very good performance 👏👏👏 Oneman show 😁 I was afraid little bit during the descent for some potencial avalanche 🤔🤭
“I’m getting close to puking, but all I have left is a 1000 feet”. Wow!!
I'm really impressed. It's hard to find motivation filming when you are on your own or sick. But filming when sick and alone, that's a completely different level!
Still had the mental capacity to film all of it....your a Rock Star.🤟
That was wild! I've experienced the same thing with the non-stop puking on many occasions. Only cure for me is sleep. Otherwise it gets exponentially more violent haha. Great video!
Fearless, Invincible, and Alone. A little scary, glad you are OK!
Yessssss..... Thursday motivation video before the weekend starts.
Man...you were tired... puking didn't stop you. 🤮. There should be a separate puking episode 🤮😆
Glad you made it down safely.
Massive props on filming it that well Danny! Setting up tripod shots while skinning is SUCH a pain.
That looked brutal
Those Colorado gummies cure a lot of ailments 🤘
Well, all suffering aside, you got that in prime spring shape with hot pow off the top and no wind. Crazy good.
Danny really worked hard for this one and the 20-40k total views it will get :). Seriously it’s an amazing feat you accomplished all by yourself
Absolutely crushed it. Way to push through.
that totally reminds me of your Grand canyon trip. Cristoff broke his hip skiing lol.
Nice work Danny. I feel for you man. Nothing worse than being stuck miles from the car and feeling like shit.
Loved the musik while skiing!
"Post-vomit bliss window." Epic.
Love it when my favorite channel drops a new vid
Glad you're ok after that. On reflection, I wonder if you may feel you should have turned around rather than summit? I do hope you didn't press on in order to get the summit shots for the video. I wish you well for your recovery.

That was amazing. I can't believe you had the power to hike it. Personally, I wouldn't have eaten at the top. But it was worth a try lol. Nice work.
Warm skiing and full Danny speed probably got you overheated. Glad you made it back safe!
You’re doing double the miles by filming yourself. Well done man. That’s not easy.
This adventure: ⛷🤮⛷🤮⛷ May your next adventure be the right kind of epic. Thanks for taking us on the adventure!
That looked brutal, glad you made it back safe!
I didn't understand what the "Sick and Solo" meant until Danny starting barfing until his voice gave out. Glad you are ok and that you had an injureless (?) trip! (Besides the puking)
Beautiful. Another great video. Thanks D
Danny - glad you made it back safely. Your contributions are always amazing, but where are your hiking buddies?
wish I had read the vom content warning before pulling this up on my TV 😂 way to tough it out Danny this is an amazing climb and the turns looked spectacular
Seriously appreciate you doing this video!
Dude - Solo filming and riding amidst multiple vomits on a big day. that's sheer dedication for the cause. insane. this channel is awesome btw. come back to Canadian Rockies!
Dope Sundance hat! And great video
Would love to see either mt olympus in Washington or Iztaccihuatl in mexico!
what a fucking amazing ski line. I might have gotten pretty sketched out by the avi debris and that soft snow near the top...
Total Respect! Way to grind it out.
Dang Danny! Hope you’re feeling better.
You are such an inspiration!
Post-vomit bliss window. So good.
There should be a way to give multiple thumbs up!
That's a hard day, man. Way to push through it
You skied that top bit with style. So cool you powered through for that.👍
New Ortovox pants?
