Man I gotta say I’m jealous of all the youngsters learning today with such high quality lessons! Back in my day there was nothing close to this channel and we either got lucky and the song you liked was transcribed in one of the guitar magazines, but it was rare for them to do songs other than the radio hits so basically we were all just trying to figure it out on our own and most likely got it wrong. Sometimes I wonder what would my life had been if I had access to a channel like this when I was 17!!! Excellent job as always Matt!!!
Thanks mate! Really appreciate the kind words 😊🤘It’s also never been easier figuring out songs with live videos and sometimes isolated tracks to help understand what’s going on, as a lot of the nuances can get lost in the full mix 😊🤘
@@LetsPlayAll very true, you have more access today to more media such as live videos and isolated tracks, but back then even if you bought the official tab books, even those are plagued with mistakes, just take some of the metallica tab books for example, safe to say the best seller tab books, even those are full of mistakes everywhere. Thanks again mate, glad to be a part of this community!!! Cheers!!!
Just the lesson i was looking for man! Yesterday i was trying to learn it, and i couldnt find a good lesson, good thing you made a lesson on it! Rock on!!!
No doubt, if these teachers were available when I was a kid. I would have been a rock star. Now whats takin me 35 yrs. Kids can learn in 3 yrs 5 months. They have access to all these great teachers from the living room. Still jamming at 50 on my dimebag Razorback Dean.
Jerry's guitar playing always has been on top notch but his best solos are in the first album. Facelift has more unsettled agression among all AIC albums and I love it
Hello, Just a long shot. With everything us subscribers have learnt from this channel and most triumphant lessons, Is there anyone who wants to jam/form a band or anything?
Thanks, signal chain for this was guitar - Friedman be-od - victory v40 head - two notes captor - audio interface - laptop running cubase with two notes wall of sound plug in
Is that the $20k Gibson version of Jerry’s signature guitar? I purchased the wino Epiphone last year and really like it, tho craftsmanship on the Epiphones can sometimes be a hit or miss. Cool song and thanks for the lesson!
@@LetsPlayAll Ah, that’s sweet! The Japanese make some quality stuff. I have a Fender Limited International Strat (the only MiJ guitar in my collection) and was blown away by the fit and finish. Not sure what amps you have, but the Friedman JJ Jr is super cool. Still making payments on one I ordered from Sweetwater months ago. Just had to have it! You know how it goes… I really need to spend some time watching your videos and learning so I can even remotely justify owning such a thing, haha. Cheers from the USA! 🍻

@@ossyrover1982 I really appreciate the kind words mate and that’s wonderful to hear you’re getting so much out of the lessons! The main point for me is hopefully inspiring people to keep playing or pick up a guitar after not playing for a while, so always lovely to hear 🤘😊🤘
Jerry is such a genius with the blues intertwined with heavy crushing riffs!!

Ahh the 90's let's go back shall we??
Man this tone... 10/10
Thanks buddy!

Haha some synchronicity there buddy! 🤘😀
Quite possibly my all time favourite AIC song. Thank you for this 🤘
You’re welcome!
Great work! Any chance of adding that staccato part of the solo at the end?

Jerry Cantrell is underrated I think. Crushing tone, awesome leads. You don't have to shred and play 10,000 notes to produce an awesome solo.........
Agreed, he's not underrated by me but I know what you mean :-)
Amazing tone man !!
Thanks buddy!

One of the most underrated albums ever
Facelift may be the best album of my life next to Back in Black.
Such a simplistic intro but so badass!
I love your dedication
Thanks Dan!
You have such great taste man . . . I love all this stuff.
Glad you’re enjoying the vids mate!
Thanks for this lesson! I'm gonna use it to play at an open air market in Arizona.
Rad! Have a great gig!
Thanks for your lesson video. Your Tokai Les Paul is also greate ! I want same one...
Love this lesson you kick ass
Cheers!
Obrigado pela ótima aula!
That solo is fucking wicked
Alice deep cut, was a single wasnt it. i think Jezza is playing it on his tour, roll on July
Ah that'd be sweet, going to see him in London :-)
In 1985, when I started my hair guitar journey, you took lessons, got tab books, or used the things on either side of your head.
yea the tab books were always questionable tho haha
Nice job sir, huge tone! That whole album is just back to back monster riffs - 1990 was a vintage year!🤘🤘🤘
Cheers Andy! 1991 wasn't bad either - those were some rather fine days for new music! :-)
I was thinking about re-recording this song, especially because of the solo; Now with your lesson, I'll definitely do it
Nice! Go for it Lucas 😀🤘
That's such a cool guitar.
Thank you thank you thank you your the best bro appreciate you alot
Thanks man!
great song
Belíssima aula!! ❤

Thanks Rodolfo!
What guitar is that? How can I aquire one?
Tokai LC-142 - check here mate ruclips.net/video/9L2i31nXcGk/видео.html
In the original recording, it sounds like there's a piano or keyboard mimicking the guitar.
Tune ! 🙏👍
good video but you forgot the end of the solo with that weird octave stuff
Thanks! Yea stupidly used a video rather than original track, will sort an addendum at some point!
Isn't there more to the solo ?
yes i think so :-) oops

What a nice guitar 😎 Now you have to redo the AIC videos 😁

Oops! Will revisit at some point mate!
Bet you haven’t put that custom down since it arrived
It’s great fun and the pickup upgrades have made it a superb sounding guitar! Just fyi it’s a Tokai not a custom shop LP 😉🤘
