my top moment in the trilogy. I had barrowed the game from a friend of mine because I had only halo 3 at the time. that line alone kept me in the series.
+Roy Harrigan Also during "Arrival" in Mass Effect 2 where you talk to Harbinger. "Dust struggling against cosmic winds" - At least the Reapers are hardcore.
gabriel jimenez What makes it so fantastic, is the fact that the illusive man says all your previous squadmates were unavailable. I have to admit, I got goosebumps by that reveal.
I'll never forget the feels from playing these games for the first time. No other game, book, or movie made me feel the way this series did. I got so invested in my teammates and story that it felt so personal. Gosh those feels! Those feels, man! I hope the next one makes me feel the same way.
I know what you mean. The first time through ME3 I chose the Geth over the Quarians and had no idea what the consequences would be. After Tali jumped, I said, no way! so I ended up reverting back and re-doing like 20 hours of gameplay to get enough points to pass the paragon check in order to save Tali and her people. That's 20 hours to save a video game character. I can't think of any other game I've ever played where I'd have been willing to do that.
I worked for the EMS at the end of Mass Effect 3 so that Shepard could live, because I cared about the relationship between him and his love interest. How mad is that? I spent that much time on a game because I cared about the fate of two fictional characters I'll never get to interact with again, just so there would be a happy ending. I can't remember a game I've gone to such lengths for.
My favorite moment was when Admiral Hackett gave that epic speech then everyone comes out from the mass relay in ME3. I felt like such a badass at that one moment.
+Nathan Dixon Atleast someone gets it, every bitches about none of your actions mattering. You were fighting the Reapers what do you expect the only way it was gonna end was with some final massive choice that would cost your life
The thing I loved about ME3 was that Cerberus kept ruining everything and made me legitimately furious, exactly how Shepard felt in the game. I couldn't wait to kill Kai Leng
First time I met him, my first thought 'I'm going to rip that fuckers spine out, with my hands'... And I was playing as Infiltrator (Sniper) Shepard as well, amazing job making us hate the guys we're supposed to hate... Though his battles are a bit annoying, badass in cutscene's, then just cartwheel's around and sics minions on you. I got a Geth Machine gun/Assault rifle, and just focus his chest, takes him down so easily.
@@elcannon9404 I mean it's heavily implied and the prothean VI on Thessia retreats back into the beacon because it senses an indoctrinated presence is approaching
The weapon system was shit, I wish it was handled like ME1 or ME3... the one with the fewest weapons and pain in the ass upgrade system. Still the best in the series tho, freaking 12 SQUADMATES!! and if even one of them dies, it's your goddamn fault, not because the story demands it (like in Virmire)
But the story didn't progress so much overall. You're resurrected from the dead have to kill the reapers, then spend 2/3rd of the game finding and pampering your sqaudmates, with only 4 main missions against the collectors, who were much less threatening than the reapers of the previous games, and the final mission really didn't showcase your crew. The only thing they did was shooting, unless you count the hacking and the biotics. I mean any cerberus troop could shoot, they didn't really need to bring in these people. Also, harbinger was kind've a joke compared to soveriegn. Still a great game though.
I'm a huge fan of ME2, but you have to acknowledge that there's basically no story. ME1 established the universe and introduced a larger conflict on top of a pretty epic story. ME2 mostly just introduced a bunch of characters and fleshed them out.
Nizar El-Zarif And I suspect that The Biotic God got a special mention in The Citadel DLC when two soldiers were exchanging battle stories and the guy was embarrassed he was saved by a biotic volus.
Great list, but you missed one of my personal favorites. The moment with Wrex on Tuchunka where he calls you brother/sister, and hero. That was one of the most meaningful moments in the game.
Not going to lie. When Legion sacrificed himself, I cried like a baby. Especially when they threw in the original Mass Effect theme behind what he was saying to Tali.
Tomajev Never before have so many come together from all quarters of the galaxy. But never before have we faced an enemy such as this. The Reapers will show us no mercy. We must give them no quarter. They will terrorize our populations. We must stand fast in the face of that terror. They will advance until our last city falls, but we will not fall. We will prevail. Each of us will be defined by our actions in the coming battle. Stand fast. Stand strong. Stand together. Hackett out.
I only recently played these games, so the fact that they made part of how the single player storyline ended up based on multiplayer really pissed me off since it is impossible to find a game.
You can get the best ending without playing multiplayer, you just have to complete more of the game. And if you have the DLC (which is all amazing and extremely highly recommended), it's even easier.
Kelvyn Bienvenido Already beat you to it. Paragon male romancing tali and on number 2 already at the point where you have everybody’s loyalty missions on the list 😁
+Florian Narratio Not for me, I got him killed in ME2 :/ I had him attempt to fix the door even though I had Tali with me and she could have repaired it faster, but I didn't want to risk her dying.
+ijirving Kasumi Goto and Legion would've been good alternates. Both of them can work as the tech specialist without getting killed. As for Tali, she'll only die there if you didn't do her loyalty mission (or if you failed her loyalty mission...I think the only 3 where you can complete the mission, but fail to gain the squadmate's loyalty, are Thane, Tali, and Zaeed). For the tech specialists, as long as they're loyal, Kasumi, Legion or Tali will survive the duct segment. And +Florian Narratio I agree with you on that one. I can't get over the fact that when Thane's in the hospital and knows he's only got a few minutes left to live, he takes one of those minutes to essentially make fun of Kai Leng's failure. He stops to take a crack at the guy who's killed him before he says his last prayers, knowing that he's out of time. Can we just think about that for a moment.
The ending of 3 (ending as in the final levels) were far more hard hitting for me than ME2s Suicide Mission. That moment defending the Hydra missiles while being hopelessly surrounded by a massive onslaught of reaper forces and Harbinger fucking shooting beams at you at the same time while you are on a mad dash to revive your squad mates because the three Banshees you face fucking one shot them was absolutely terrifying and was the one moment in the series where I knew Shepard wasn't going to make it out alive.
I agree, I actually think the last levels of me3 were on par if not better than the suicide mission, the whole trilogy had been leading up to this, and I knew that this was the end.
+Edward Irra I also had that feeling.Shepard cheated death so many times.Sooner or later luck, skills or his allies won't be able to save him.I would rather see Harbringer killing Shepard, than Shepard death in this shitty endings. When the Harbringer hits you by the end,i just quit the game. Its better ending for this story than the Catalyst child.
+lordofmud I actually really like the ending. Sheperd was broken and tired by the end and that made a great setting for the final scene. Granted I'm talking about the extended cut not the original.
+LJC1990 The extended cut was a distinct improvement, and it makes the ending tolerable...just. The whole Battle of Earth thing is just mind-blowing, though. It has to be the best single-player space battle I've ever seen, and that desperate last stand next to the missiles is brutal. Dodging Reaper shots, fighting off multiple Banshees, desperately running to survive, finding what cover you can, that balls-to-the-wall sprint to the missile control...blimey. Not to mention the injured squadmate who Shepard says goodbye to, the desperate charge to the beam, his/her injuries, Anderson's death...it's just insane how hard it hits you.
Lachlan Bold I was upset when mordan died to, sure u can get him live if u killed Rex in me1 but the fact u can also shoot him it's like wtf! I was left with no option but to shoot him in one playthrough it was so hard to do
A missing, yet easy choice for a top 10 comment is when Shepard and his/her team meet and interact with the Prothean VI Vigil on Illos toward the end of ME1. That scene, though not bombastic made my jaw slowly drop as Vigil explained the history the Protheans, the Citadel, and the council races; then effectively made clear the relationship between them all and the enormous stakes going forward. Watch or play this scene again: The combination of the fight in an ancient Prothean city followed by Vigil's talk and importantly, the soundtrack during it all (and especially during the chat with Vigil) is nothing less than awe inspiring. In short, it neatly wrapped up the entire premise of ME1 and the ME trilogy overall. Bonus: The awesome events following Vigil's encounter...
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian I've studies species turian, asari, and batarian I'm quite good at genetics as a subset of biology Because I am an expert which I know is a tautology. My knowledge is prodigious though I'm stuffy and professor-y I'm fluent in the vorcha tongue and hanar luminescer-y My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian I am the very model of a scientist Salarian!
On his death cutscene, I actually finished singing for him. And cried too. RIP Mordin. Unless it's Wreav who's in charge, in which case he can go fuck himself, because I keep my salarian bro' alive. I ain't sacrificing his ass for that bastard.
This might sound trivial, but seeing the first game's opening sequence with the revealing of the very simple title screen beautifully synchronized with the music - that was the very greatest moment for me, because it prepared me for the greatness of the game.
+Zero Cool see i was the opposite for the longest time. at the time to me it looked like a Gears clone. but one day i got bored and saw the trilogy collection, so i thought let's give this a try. HOLY CRAP WAS I WRONG. as soon as the title screen came up and the theme song played, i was hooked. now it's one of my favorite series ever.
+KFCMmuc That whole opening scene with the first Mass Relay jump combined with the amazing musical score was so epic. It was like the opening scene to a movie. You knew you were in for a hell of a ride. And yes, the Citadel reveal was another masterful synergy of soundtrack and visuals. So much Grade-A cinematography and writing in the first game. Imagine if it had received the same budget as the sequels.
Huh? The quarian/geth decision was EASY AS HELL. I saved them BOTH by yelling at those idiot quarians threatening to let them all die if they didn't stop firing.
The problem for me, was and is that I'm not a black and white person. So my paragon nor renegade were high enough for the first playthrough. Even in a games like Knights of the Old Republic, I'd be straight down the middle--would never be true Sith or true Jedi. I didn't get the secondary options to save them both. It was only in the second playthrough that I was able to save them both because I was aware of the parameters.
+Felix De La Cruz *Garrus*: "I'm not saying you don't know how handle a gun, but some of us know how to make them dance. So let's find out who's really the best shot" *Shepard*: "There are some people who've seen me in action Garrus. Them seemed impressed." *Garrus*: "Yeah, but I've actually seen you dance Shepard. No comment." *Shepard*: "Allright Vakarian, you're going down!"
Am I the only one who didn't find the ending of Mass Effect 3 that bad? I mean of course it kinda sucked that Shepard and Anderson had to die but apart from that I think it was actually quite good.
EpicFantasyGamer It certainly gave you a fair few choices, each one sucking more than the last cause Shepard’s life was hanging on the decision, but yeah it was good. Best most peaceful ending for everybody is Shepard’s death (has to happen unfortunately) and the control ending. That way Shepard lives on in a different way, remembering who they were while forcing the reapers to do whatever he/she wants. That and all their friends are permanently safe. It’s bittersweet
+Der liebe Herr Gesangsverein Kinda sad that him are Mordin are literally the only 2 likable Salrians in the game. I kinda wanted Sur'Kesh to get attacked by the Reapers but it just HAD to be far from Dark space.
+Jasmine GeminiDragon Technically its not going to be ME4 as the series is a trilogy it is going to be a complete new story taking place in the same galaxy. I do have good hopes but i understand your sceptisism
+Rom The Space Knight It's almost like the Star Wars original trilogy. The first entry to the franchise excels at world-building, though it's a bit clumsy and unpolished in places. The second one steps up the ante and expands on the universe. It has a more dynamic narrative flow and the stakes in the story are higher. It's the one that's remembered most fondly. The third one is the epic conclusion. The suspense is greater than ever before as the characters are reaching their limits during the final confrontation. It's almost a bit too overwhelming and may throw a bit much at the audience at once, not presenting the narrative as neatly as the second one (dicking around with the ewoks- dicking around with the starchild) but ultimately, the story has a memorable ending with some great moments and the trilogy is loved by fans as a whole.
+Rom The Space Knight Yeah, that´s right but all three games are awesome and let´s hope Andromeda will be as awesome or even more than the previous ones. For me,the best Series ever !
I think 3 is much better gameplay. I had a blast with the fast paced combat and absolutely awesome combination of powers and abilities you and your squad could unleash on the fly. Idk how you can say 2 had better combat gameplay. 2 was good, but it was slow paced, and didn't have mug variety outside of cover/shoot mechanics. I think each game had made impressive leaps in gameplay between each entry which is something not many series can do like mass effect does. But YES 2 outshines 3 in many other ways. I expect Andromeda to make the same level of advancement in gameplay each past game has, which means it should be an incredible game
Dishonorable mention: Red Blue or Green. I'll never forget. Never. Ever. Another dishonorable mention: forcing mordin to die, regardless of what you did. Another dishonorable mention, not making Kasumi and Zaeed bigger parts... I'll never get over the feels
+Scarfaceman77 I know a good amount.. Tbh, I wasn't aware that you could ever save mordin. But even if I did know I wouldn't save him because of losing the krogan. But I would have loved to save both like saving the Geth and Quarians.
One of the best moments in the series is in the beginning of the second game, where you meet Joker after two years has passed. The time when you get presented with the new Normandy. That's a satisfying moment in the game
EA happened. Casey Hudson and Bioware's A-Team that made Mass Effect were all reassigned to Anthem and Andromeda was left to the Red Shirts team who relied on computers (in the absence of human eyes) to quality check Andromeda.
I actually quite liked the entire ending. That is, provided Shepard lives and you have the Extended Cut DLC, I'm quite happy with it. For me the aim of the game was always "Kill _all_ the reapers" So, when I got to do that, I was pretty content. The game also made me work for the 'Shepard lives' ending, so I really didn't mind.
ME3 should have ended with Andersons and Illusive man death scene. If they would have ended game there it would been great, epic game. But fuck noooo they had to fuck it up.
It was okay, but it would have been better if you were to make EVERY squadmate do something particular during the last battle, just like in the final mission of the second game. But having one last conversation with each of them (including ones who aren't your squadmates) is definetly a close second
I actually liked the synthesis ending of me3 as it seemed like a decision that paragon Shepard would make as it was a selfless decision that united the Galaxy
You also have to rewrite the geth in ME2 and you need to do both missions - entering the geth consensus and saving admiral Koris - before Attack the Reaper, and have Legion and Tali loyal in ME2 - hence surviving the suicide mission- .
I was confused when that came up in the video. I didn't realise your reputation had to be so high to save them both. Only Legion died in my play-through. That was bad enough, didn't realise any lower reputation and an entire species dies.
Joker’s mission is still to this day one of my favorite scenes in all of gaming. You have this subtle bad feeling leading up to it. Yet nothing would have prepared you for the collector’s ship just appearing out of nowhere. The atmosphere, music and tension was fantastic. Nowhere to run, you can’t fight back. Then that ending, there is no one left aboard but joker and edi.
+Scott “Ivorystate” Christiansen I'm glad at least some people didn't experience that shitty original ending that many of us had to endure, in the early days of ME3's release. The Extended Cut definitely made the ending a hell of a lot better.
that is what im afraid of... u know. Because they were not just a bunch of ppl on a new adventure. They were hand picked and they were the finest of the galaxy, well besides vega. we had a salarian doctor, expert, and Salarian especial force (dont remember the exact name), a freaking justicar, a fking perfect breeded krogan, a drell who is the best assassin on the galaxy, that frustrated a cyborg ninja at his peak while sick to death,, a super enhanced bitch (Miranda), an biotic weapon of mass destruction (jack) an fking geth with a N7 armor (no need more to be a badass) a protean expert, the best and most war trained quarian of the fleet (her pilgrimage can beat any other quarian general) the "king" of the krogan world (wrex), the fking archangel!!!! a first contact war hero (Anderson), THE FKING JOKER, best pilot eva!! a loyal and state of art AI (edi) and soo on... and dont forget the fking first human spectre, th savior of citadel who broghtu the whole galexy together..... how can u beat that?? U can say anything but the reality is... we are gona play we normal ppl... thats it!! maybe papa Ryder is a badass.. And i know they will try to make all characters badass.. but... they will be badass among normal ppl.. the first triloge they were the ultimate badsses among the badasses.
There are so many great moments in the ME series, it's hard to shorten them down to ten let alone ordering them on a list without pissing people off. The only complaint I could have is that I think that the "Talk with Sovereign" should have been higher on the list. That 4 minute conversation gave you a somewhat lovecraftian image of the Reapers and what they might be like, where they came from and such, it was awesome. Then ME 3 happened... Anyway, good list.
+The Accursed Hunter01 Also,I think the Vigil Coversation should have earned at least an honorable mention. But I also think that nearly every moment in the series is epic !
Sure I remember that the gaming media shit on the fans when they felt ripped off my ME 3's ending. I don't believe Bioware said anything about it either. At the very least, Bioware released the Extended Cut DLC for free, so that was pretty damn nice of them.
+wobler4992 Garrus:"Do you ever miss those long elevator rides?" Tali: "No" Garrus: "C'mon. Talk to me about your immune system" Tali: "I have a shotgun" Garrus: "I'll talk to you... later..."
+Vinícius Braceloti When you spent 30 hours getting 100% and doing every quest possible in the game... well, the elevator rides become a death trap. And the conversations run out quite quickly.
You have to make Another Top 10 list of Mass Effect Moments. There are loads of moments that didn't make it onto the list. Sending the Eclipse Merc flying through that window. Thane's final fight. Finally defeating Kai Leng. There are so many moments in Mass Effect.
I remember when I first did the Geth-Quarian choice picked the Geth I was like hey Quarians you were kind of assholes then I see Tali on the cliff and I'm like "Tali whatcha doin?...wait...TALI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK THIS SHIT *restarts from game 1* "
I still remember the 1st two times i beat Mass Effect 2, Attempt 1: Only Legion Mordin and I lived, (i cried when Tali and Garrus died) Attempt 2: Everyone, including all the crew members survived, (I cried because i saved everyone, including Zaeed who i had gotten about halfway through the playthrough for the 1st time)
GELSPRG I agree, Jennifer Hale is amazing. Plus as a woman I prefer to play as a woman given the chance. Not to mention because my preferred LI's are Thane, Garrus and Kaidan
Elissa Theirin Oh my! YES! I forgot the actress's name! Thanks for the reminder! As a huge advocate of women in gaming and beyond I completely agree with you! Especially the fact that we can play as a female character that isn't overly sexualized, even though bad-ass females turn me on! :D
GELSPRG You're welcome :) That's one thing I'll always appreciate about Bioware is that (well, most) of the females aren't sexualised, and BioWare has always been very welcoming for both male and female gamers as well as those of different sexualities. They even introduced a trans character in Dragon Age: Inquisition which is the only game I know to have done that
I feel like the conversation with Vigil on Ilos right before the end of ME1 should have been on this list. What a mind-blowing moment. The final revelation of the Prothean's extinction and the sacrifices those scientists did to give this cycle species a chance. I'll have goosebumps forever by just thinking about it.
My favorite was during the shore leave when the clone traps you in the archive and you have the option "Do I really sound like that?" (I had javik and Kaidan as comps) Javik starts to say yes and then it becomes an argument between the two of how Shepard sound and how he says badass lines or not. Then Kaidan says "Why aren't you concerned we are trapped in here?" and then Shepard calls Liaras little probe thing to come and save them. ^^ I so love the shore leave, everything from the clone hunt to the party to the movie Javik is supposed to be in ^^
Massive honourable mention to the sound tracks. They made the great bits even better like The Suicide Mission and The Faunts at the end of ME1 and 3 etc
+BigFry9591 Couldn't stand Tali. She felt like a bad anime character, and I can't stand anime so that's probably why. Garrus was the best imo. In my game Tali just kinda fucked around on the normandy not really doing much else except whine and complain about her race and the geth. I had no time for that.
+alphaomegagiant At some point during the party, she mayhave a semi conscious imaginary conversation with Garrus where she seems tempted by "inviting" both Garrus and Shepard :p. In the morning: "I... am going.... to die."
BigFry9591 Hahaha I just can't stand her. She felt like the annoying kid who wanted to tag along on my adventure. Their race is awesome but I just can't stand her. Give me Regaar over her anytime as a team mate.
The end of DLC was cool and epic and tense, but like middle of DLC was really not great. Thats why this DLC as whole not so great to me. While Shadow broker was great from start to finish
Pretty simple. Mordin, Anderson, thane, Miranda if You Dont save her in 3, wrex on Virmire if You Dont calm him down, legion in 3, tali in 3, Ashley or kaidan in 3 if You or your team shoots, shepard and crew at the start of 2 and I’d say saren when he realises he is under reaper control and shoots himself.
This is crazy as fuck, I've been thinking all day that its been a while since I last played through the Mass Effect Trilogy (which is basically a yearly ritual for me), and that tonight I'll start with ME1, but before that I decided to see if I'm up to date on RUclips releases before I start and here this video is..... that was creepy as fuck. Obviously I'm not going to watch it but I'm guessing its a great video so I'm going to thumbs it up. :)
+Michael Hanley Just played ME for the first time this year so it's not yet a ritual but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that does that with special games. I play Uncharted 2 and 3 periodically depending on how little of anything else there is to play or how much time I have, I've also done the same with Max Payne 3 and The Last Of Us.
+Michael Hanley Wow! I started and finished ME1 last week, finished ME2 yesterday and I'm about to start on ME3! (It's my second playthrough of the trilogy, incredibly good games)
I actually managed to get the option for the Quarian/Geth dispute where both species survived and decided to support me in the Final Battle. Helps if Legion survived ME2 as things go forward
The Sovereign conversation should have been a lot higher. I mean, when I firstly played the game, I was like 'ah well, it's decent, but nothing that great'. Up until that moment, that is. From now on, it was like 'holy shit! I NEED to know how this ends!' My absolute favorite from the series.
I more or less agree, only wish that the final space-battle had been on this. I mean 'come on!' that was like the Galaxy extending a collective middle-finger to the Reapers!
I'm just sad that I will have to wait an entire year just to play it, but the wait will be worth it. Also I'll have Fallout 4 to keep me busy until then :D
Mass Effect Trilogy is undoubtedly the greatest Trilogy in the history of entertainment media. I'd rate it higher than- star wars, dark knight, LOTR,Godfather, trilogy. Mass Effect needs to be made into a movie.
+Danish Sudan Mass Effect doesn't work as a movie. You just have too many characters, events, lore and dialogue to put into 2-3 hours. You would have to make a series like they did with Game of Thrones to cover everything and even then the very important aspect of decisionmaking would fall under the table, which is one of the reasons Mass Effect is that good in the first place. It is also very difficult to compare games to movies. Games have much more opportunity for storytelling due to the time you invest in it and are naturally more immersive than movies where you don't participate at all. On the other hand, Knights of the Old Republic was much better than Episode 1-3 in all but graphics^^
This needs to be made into a top 20. Every moment on here is great and deserves its place, but you can't have a list of best Mass Effect moments without drunk Tali, the reveal of the Normandy SR2, or stabbing Kai Leng and avenging Thane.
Mass Effect,in my opinion the best game series ever !!! (and I don´t think anythin will beat it) The story, the characters, the galaxy, the races, the lore, the music, the desicions, the protagonist and the epic mission´s are all factors that make this series the best for ME.ANd I hope ME:A will continue this epicness :-) I wish I could write this under every ME YT video out there but it´s impossible although I try to do it :D
Glad #2 was listed. Legion "dying" was the one moment that stood out the most during the whole organic vs. synthetic conflict. Even though Legion was my favourite character, I wasn't disappointed with his ending.
"You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it." I love that line.
That was my favorite line from Sovereign. My second favorite line from him was "Your threats are as empty as your future"
+Roy Harrigan that line is tattoo worthy
my top moment in the trilogy. I had barrowed the game from a friend of mine because I had only halo 3 at the time. that line alone kept me in the series.
Yeah that's a really heavy weight-bearing line really putting into perspective how much power the Reapers have.
+Roy Harrigan Also during "Arrival" in Mass Effect 2 where you talk to Harbinger.
"Dust struggling against cosmic winds" - At least the Reapers are hardcore.
finding out Garrus was Archangel is still one of my awe moments gaming.
gabriel jimenez What makes it so fantastic, is the fact that the illusive man says all your previous squadmates were unavailable. I have to admit, I got goosebumps by that reveal.
what pisses me off about that is that my brother spoil it... ON MY FIRST EVER PLAYTHROUGH
Al Muhajir man, that's harsh. My condolances
Finding out Garrus was Archangel made me so happy that I bounced in my chair and squealed.
Garrus and Tali. The only people available as Squad Members in all 3 games... I took them for all my final missions. They're just the best
Mass Effect is truly one of the best series out there. The whole trilogy was awesome from beginning to end.
Didnt the ending suck?
+Brotelho Yep,totally agree on that !
everything was great until the ending. no, im not butthurt. i'm simply stating a fact.
About 93% of it was good.
+Brotelho Without a doubt, this is the best game series I have ever played!
I'll never forget the feels from playing these games for the first time. No other game, book, or movie made me feel the way this series did. I got so invested in my teammates and story that it felt so personal. Gosh those feels! Those feels, man! I hope the next one makes me feel the same way.
i cried when i finished the trilogy
I know what you mean. The first time through ME3 I chose the Geth over the Quarians and had no idea what the consequences would be. After Tali jumped, I said, no way! so I ended up reverting back and re-doing like 20 hours of gameplay to get enough points to pass the paragon check in order to save Tali and her people. That's 20 hours to save a video game character. I can't think of any other game I've ever played where I'd have been willing to do that.
i did it in ~30 minutes with save changer :(
I worked for the EMS at the end of Mass Effect 3 so that Shepard could live, because I cared about the relationship between him and his love interest. How mad is that? I spent that much time on a game because I cared about the fate of two fictional characters I'll never get to interact with again, just so there would be a happy ending.
I can't remember a game I've gone to such lengths for.
+LabradorIndependent bruh same, n i dnt even game alot
How is getting a Thresher Maw to kill a Reaper not on this list!??!
+Kyle Kozar KALROS! THE FURY OF TUCHANKA!
YES
YASSSSS.
That sequence was ridiculous. I thought Kalros had no chances against the Reaper, but then BAM!!
How is killing a Reaper not on the list?
Joker: Now all we need is a gun that fires thresher maws.
My favorite moment was when Admiral Hackett gave that epic speech then everyone comes out from the mass relay in ME3. I felt like such a badass at that one moment.
hell yeah, I got pumped from that lol
+undead890 That scene, along with the rest of the ending (Priority:Earth) was very poorly done.
+Orikon25 I loved the finale. it demonstrates that as much as you have lots of free choice, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter.
+undead890 fuck hackett, he stole shepards speech
+Nathan Dixon Atleast someone gets it, every bitches about none of your actions mattering. You were fighting the Reapers what do you expect the only way it was gonna end was with some final massive choice that would cost your life
The thing I loved about ME3 was that Cerberus kept ruining everything and made me legitimately furious, exactly how Shepard felt in the game. I couldn't wait to kill Kai Leng
Kai Leng was a douche. Whoever designed his look nailed it. You instantly hated him.
that was for thane you son of a bitch
or no gunship here you son of a bitch
First time I met him, my first thought 'I'm going to rip that fuckers spine out, with my hands'... And I was playing as Infiltrator (Sniper) Shepard as well, amazing job making us hate the guys we're supposed to hate... Though his battles are a bit annoying, badass in cutscene's, then just cartwheel's around and sics minions on you. I got a Geth Machine gun/Assault rifle, and just focus his chest, takes him down so easily.
Apparently, Cerberus were all meant to have been indoctrinated but they ran outta time and cut that. Left a bit of their stuff unexplained
@@elcannon9404 I mean it's heavily implied and the prothean VI on Thessia retreats back into the beacon because it senses an indoctrinated presence is approaching
ME2 was almost flawless. One of the best games ever.
Yeah!
the cover system was crap but everything else was just AMAZING to say the least
"I am a biotic God": Random Volus NPC. is the best moment in the trilogy. ME2
I owe this place, i owe you!
well at least he tried :q
And if you listen to his voice.......hint...its Mark Meer aka MaleShep.
too much red sand lol
Nizar El-Zarif And I suspect that The Biotic God got a special mention in The Citadel DLC when two soldiers were exchanging battle stories and the guy was embarrassed he was saved by a biotic volus.
Great list, but you missed one of my personal favorites. The moment with Wrex on Tuchunka where he calls you brother/sister, and hero. That was one of the most meaningful moments in the game.
"I'm Urdnot Wrex - and this... is my... Planet" *punching and shooting his way through reaper-tech altered Rachni*
same, this list left a lot out imo, like thane's death was genuinely heartbreaking in 3
The whole Tuchanka mission in ME3 is one of the bests in the whole trilogy.
Not going to lie. When Legion sacrificed himself, I cried like a baby.
Especially when they threw in the original Mass Effect theme behind what he was saying to Tali.
+Lion_Turtle "Shepard Commander, does this unit have a soul?" :'(
+Lone Avenger the answer to your question is yes... :(
+Lone Avenger yes. this unit does.
+Lion_Turtle Tali'Zorah? Does this unit have a soul?
+Lion_Turtle Legion's death, is the saddest death more me. Especially since its completely unavoidable (Which is bullshit) :(
What.....
not eaven a mention about the fleets arrives scene?
- Commander, are you ready to bring the might of the galaxy to bear on the Reapers?
- Yes Sir!
Tomajev
Never before have so many come together from all quarters of the galaxy.
Francisco Robles tried looking for some workaround or hack for it online?
You can get the best ending without playing multiplayer, you just have to complete more of the game. And if you have the DLC (which is all amazing and extremely highly recommended), it's even easier.
Praying while Thane passed away in his hospital bed!? THAT WAS BRUTAL 😢😭 I'm still not over it....
Yup
how many ppl after see this video wants to play MASS EFFECT TRILOGY again
Kelvyn Bienvenido Already beat you to it. Paragon male romancing tali and on number 2 already at the point where you have everybody’s loyalty missions on the list 😁
I. For the 24. fucking time!!!!
I literally just finished playing through the trilogy yesterday. This isn't fair.
Kelvyn Bienvenido im so glad I own the game!
In the middle mass 2
Great list, but Thane´s death in Mass Effect 3 should have been there.
+Florian Narratio And don't forget... "That was for Thane, you son of a Bitch."
+Florian Narratio His memorial was heart wrenching as well.
+Florian Narratio Yep, I did get teary eyed : (
+Florian Narratio Not for me, I got him killed in ME2 :/ I had him attempt to fix the door even though I had Tali with me and she could have repaired it faster, but I didn't want to risk her dying.
+Edward Irra He survived at my ending :)
I agree, I actually think the last levels of me3 were on par if not better than the suicide mission, the whole trilogy had been leading up to this, and I knew that this was the end.
That part of the series also had the most plot holes
+Edward Irra I also had that feeling.Shepard cheated death so many times.Sooner or later luck, skills or his allies won't be able to save him.I would rather see Harbringer killing Shepard, than Shepard death in this shitty endings. When the Harbringer hits you by the end,i just quit the game. Its better ending for this story than the Catalyst child.
+Adam Huczek right,because fuck closure?
Kalros vs the Reaper Destroyer on Tuchanka should've at least been an honorable mention!
+Laurence Nguyen Tuchanka and Rannoch cutscenes were both excellent. Mass Effect 3 was a great game except for the ending...and Vega.
+lordofmud
I actually really like the ending.
For me Mordin was the saddest moment for the trilogy because I took him on every mission in Mass Effect 2
His character is actually a tragic hero. I did not like him as party member but his storyline was great!
"Would have liked run tests on the seashells"
LockedInHell :"( *sniff*
Lachlan Bold I was upset when mordan died to, sure u can get him live if u killed Rex in me1 but the fact u can also shoot him it's like wtf! I was left with no option but to shoot him in one playthrough it was so hard to do
Someone else might’ve gotten it wrong
You need a top 50 list to do this justice.
Hell, they need to make a walkthrough of the trilogy to do this justice
Even with a top 50, that will be so hard to choose...
Even top 100... Man this game deserves a Movie....
yeah. i would sit and watch an hour long video "top 50 moments in mass effect trilogy". and i would do it with pleasure.
If I could upvote this comment by 1000 i would
A missing, yet easy choice for a top 10 comment is when Shepard and his/her team meet and interact with the Prothean VI Vigil on Illos toward the end of ME1.
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian
I've studies species turian, asari, and batarian
I'm quite good at genetics as a subset of biology
Because I am an expert which I know is a tautology.
My knowledge is prodigious though I'm stuffy and professor-y
I'm fluent in the vorcha tongue and hanar luminescer-y
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian!
+Bender B. Rodriguez *cough*
+Bender B. Rodriguez That was godlike
+Bender B. Rodriguez I am the very model of a BOOM. What? Too soon?
Plot Twist been about a year since I played me3 but I still sang it in the voice.
+KFCMmuc what really kicked me in the franchise is the first sight of the Citadel
+John Roig Same here. It was pretty easy! Too bad Legion dies, though...
+Greis Lutea Legion's death was total BS. Ever heard of the "Copy and paste" function?! Don't kill my buddy robot!
+John Roig I didn't get that option and Tali stabbed Legion as a result.
+John Roig Yeah me too, Paragon was always high so I always saved everyone.
It was only in the second playthrough that I was able to save them both because I was aware of the parameters.
i AM URDNOT WREX! AND *THIS* IS *MY* PLANET!!!!!!
Ben Pulham I am Sovereign an this STATION is mine
I AM KALROS! AND THIS IS MY DOMAINS!
Well, I am Johny Knoxville, and welcome to Jackass
I am Commander Shepard and this is my favourite store on the citadel.
I am Guybrush Threepwood and I want to be a pirate.
Honorable mention: Blasto The Hanar-Specter! Enkindle this!
Wurzelknecht I second that
Right now the DLCs for this trilogy are more expensive than the trilogy itself.
I blame EA
+cristi1990an So true!
So sad!
+cristi1990an get the trilogy version and then get the remaining dlc
Don't blame Bioware. Blame the greedy bastards at EA.
Shepard vs. Garrus duel at the roof of Citadel is one of the greatest comedy moment in whole game universe. Should be here :)
"I'm Garrus Vakarian and this is now my favorite spot on the Citadel!"- One of the best bro moments in gaming.
+Felix De La Cruz
*Garrus*: "I'm not saying you don't know how handle a gun, but some of us know how to make them dance. So let's find out who's really the best shot"
*Shepard*: "There are some people who've seen me in action Garrus. Them seemed impressed."
*Garrus*: "Yeah, but I've actually seen you dance Shepard. No comment."
*Shepard*: "Allright Vakarian, you're going down!"
Mass Effect 2 is the best
No Duh
+Gwynbleidd - Geralt of Rivia the Citadel DLC would like to challenge that
I prefer 1 but they are all good.
+Kurt Maverick agreed. ME2 was the Hollywood shooter adaptation.
I thought Mass Effect 3 was the best.
Well you did miss the Tali Drunk scene "Emergency Induction Port" should totally be a meme
There is one ending where Shepard lives, but you have to do a decent amount of extra work to get that one
ConeZ As long as you have the extended cut you only need 3100 ems assets 😃
and the willingness to let EDI and the Geths die
My Shepard didn´t die :D
Joker's mission was terrifying
+Alex Adamson
Joker: "Transmitting? To who?"
*Collector ship warps in*
Me: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Joker: "Oh shit!"
Never have I been so terrified of the scions
What about Kirrahe's speech?
Hold the line!
+Der liebe Herr Gesangsverein Kinda sad that him are Mordin are literally the only 2 likable Salrians in the game. I kinda wanted Sur'Kesh to get attacked by the Reapers but it just HAD to be far from Dark space.
+StephySon Jondum Bau was pretty alright as well, that one Spectre that hunted after Kasumi. But aside from that, you're right.
Der liebe Herr Gesangsverein That one Spectre was there for less then 5 minutes, and who was Bau again?
+StephySon Padok Wiks was likable, too, IMO. You had to have Mordin die in ME2 to get him, though, which a lot of people don't do.
Special Thanks to our users "DonovanTPS" & "MisterCharlton" for suggesting this topic on our Suggestion Tool at www.Watchmojo.com/suggest
i thing best moment is mass effect 3 liara sex scene : D
+Bryon Yamada I was also able to save all in ME2 for a kick ass party in ME3
Next mass effect game better be good and have a top 10 moments in that also
jacob mcnatt I am so wary of ME4. It is like... expecting an EX not to break your heart again after the first bad break up.
+Jasmine GeminiDragon Technically its not going to be ME4 as the series is a trilogy it is going to be a complete new story taking place in the same galaxy. I do have good hopes but i understand your sceptisism
Seeing the old normandie and the mako on the mass effect 2 DLC
you should have seen my face when I saw the intact Mako sitting among the Normandy's pieces. NOTHING can destroy that tank.
That was the best. Seeing all the flashbacks really made it feel like 'This really happened'.
Rafael Iasbeck Dalcol it lost one tier, ONE MOTHEFUKIN TIER
Mako/Mako - ign
So...the death of Thane Krios is not even a mention ? ARE YOU CRAZY?!
"Had to be me. Someone else would have gotten it wrong." Damn, still makes me tear up to think of Mordin's death.
Two is still the best of the series
+Rom The Space Knight Yeah, it is. I hope Andromeda is as good, if not better, than the second one.
I expect Andromeda to make the same level of advancement in gameplay each past game has, which means it should be an incredible game
yeah, the second game was the best
Dishonorable mention: Red Blue or Green. I'll never forget. Never. Ever. Another dishonorable mention: forcing mordin to die, regardless of what you did. Another dishonorable mention, not making Kasumi and Zaeed bigger parts... I'll never get over the feels
+frosty1130 Get over it.
WAIT YOU COULD SAVE MORDIN?? Wtf? (I still haven't finished the video)
frosty1130 Shows how much you know about the series...
+Scarfaceman77 I know a good amount.. Tbh, I wasn't aware that you could ever save mordin. But even if I did know I wouldn't save him because of losing the krogan. But I would have loved to save both like saving the Geth and Quarians.
+Zero Cool I watched a few videos about the mod. I wish it could be canon, it gives even more feels.
Eve's speech before they took on the reaper was pretty impressive.
One of the best moments in the series is in the beginning of the second game, where you meet Joker after two years has passed.
The time when you get presented with the new Normandy.
That's a satisfying moment in the game
sigh, when you're watching this after playing ME: Andromeda.
man, wtf happen.
EA. EA happened.
It's a bit more complicated than that, but yeah, the buck stops there ultimately.
#FUCKEA!
EA happened. Casey Hudson and Bioware's A-Team that made Mass Effect were all reassigned to Anthem and Andromeda was left to the Red Shirts team who relied on computers (in the absence of human eyes) to quality check Andromeda.
Speak not the name of the unclean thing.
Is there anyone else who thinks ME3 ending was crap but the last stage itself on earth with the battle and everything was awesome??
The part where all the ships warped in through the relay and all the fleets from different species were reporting in was fucking awesome
You can save both geth and quarian if you have 4 rank reputation
not enough, tali and legion both have to be alive too.
You also have to rewrite the geth in ME2 and you need to do both missions - entering the geth consensus and saving admiral Koris - before Attack the Reaper, and have Legion and Tali loyal in ME2 - hence surviving the suicide mission- .
you don't have rewrite them, you can also destroy the heretics
+Michal Kováčik But you do have to save Admiral Koris or you'll be outvoted
Agreed it was so moving to me
And when joker is about to crawl through the ducts: "I love the sights on humans on their knees" ,- EDI
I don't care what anyone says, the Extended Cut redeems ME3's endings and makes me break into tears every time
Especially when EDI says I'm alive
@@utkarshsharma4432 Wait, what?
I agree. I cried every time
I think Mass Effect 3's ending was perfectly fine after dlc, I only beat it after extended cut and I had very little problems with it.
With the extended cut it was just okay. It really deserved a better ending though.
+Scott “Ivorystate” Christiansen I'm glad at least some people didn't experience that shitty original ending that many of us had to endure, in the early days of ME3's release. The Extended Cut definitely made the ending a hell of a lot better.
Me too!
Yea it's better, but I'm still scared for life over the original ending.
+Scott ”Ivorystate” Christiansen Extended cut makes it lot better. Without that it's big WTF moment.
I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite video on extranet :3
ill admit, this is these are the only games to have ever made me full on cry during them, and im proud of it.
The original trilogy characters are the reason Andromeda won't live up to all the hype.
that is what im afraid of...
Had to be me someone else might have gotten it wrong.
SkyExplosion fight the feels... fight the feels!!!
I agree but I personally liked ME3 as a game but the ending almost made me throw my Xbox out my window haha.
Mass effect 3 is a great game and with the free dlc the ending wasn't that bad
Sure I remember that the gaming media shit on the fans when they felt ripped off my ME 3's ending. I don't believe Bioware said anything about it either. At the very least, Bioware released the Extended Cut DLC for free, so that was pretty damn nice of them.
+Sure 100% agree, the Extended Cut made the ending(s) *so* much better
Best part? Elevator rides definitely.
+wobler4992 Oh God, the horror.
+wobler4992
Garrus:"Do you ever miss those long elevator rides?"
Tali: "No"
Garrus: "C'mon. Talk to me about your immune system"
Tali: "I have a shotgun"
Garrus: "I'll talk to you... later..."
+wobler4992 I liked the elevator rides, the conversations and the music were immersive as fuck.
+Vinícius Braceloti When you spent 30 hours getting 100% and doing every quest possible in the game... well, the elevator rides become a death trap. And the conversations run out quite quickly.
Kanker McPatchoo Yeah, and at this point you start to wonder if a simple loading screen wouldn't be better.
In my opinion the Mass Effect trilogy is the best thing in gaming history.
"Choosing between Ashley and Kaiden challenged us"
Um no.
I saved kaiden first then loaded my save file to rescue Ashley cus I wanted to get laid......... Not my proudest moments XD
"What kind of guns does this thing have?"
"It's a taxi! it has a fare meter!!!"
Where is Garrus calibrating the ship?
Nah I just looked up and realized i'd been fucking up since game 1
My favourite mass effect moment is when Mordin gives me sexual advices before getting laid with Garrus! Absourdly hilarious moment!
I still remember the 1st two times i beat Mass Effect 2,
Attempt 1: Only Legion Mordin and I lived, (i cried when Tali and Garrus died)
Attempt 2: Everyone, including all the crew members survived, (I cried because i saved everyone, including Zaeed who i had gotten about halfway through the playthrough for the 1st time)
+CaptainRover262 Was Mass effect 3 a pain in the ass without any of the team mates being alive?
Lets just say tears were shed...
Number 1 should have been the Mass Effect 3 ending from the Extended Cut DLC. Nothing else can compare to how awesome the Extended Cut was.
Best moment - When me and Garrus where sharpshooting in citadel:)
Props for showing femshep as well as mshep!
+Elissa Theirin Let's be honest, most of us prefer femshep regardless of sexuality.. Femshep voice is much MUCH better than mshep!
+GELSPRG i prefer tj laser voice for mshep
GELSPRG I agree, Jennifer Hale is amazing. Plus as a woman I prefer to play as a woman given the chance. Not to mention because my preferred LI's are Thane, Garrus and Kaidan
Elissa Theirin Oh my! YES! I forgot the actress's name! Thanks for the reminder! As a huge advocate of women in gaming and beyond I completely agree with you! Especially the fact that we can play as a female character that isn't overly sexualized, even though bad-ass females turn me on! :D
GELSPRG You're welcome :)
That's one thing I'll always appreciate about Bioware is that (well, most) of the females aren't sexualised, and BioWare has always been very welcoming for both male and female gamers as well as those of different sexualities.
Drunk Tali is Best Tali
+alphaomegagiant Emerrrgencyyy Inducccction Porrrrt!! "That's a straw, Tali!"
+alphaomegagiant I say that overall Tali is best Tali.
+BigFry9591
Couldn't stand Tali.
In the morning: "I... am going.... to die."
BigFry9591
Hahaha I just can't stand her. She felt like the annoying kid who wanted to tag along on my adventure.
Their race is awesome but I just can't stand her. Give me Regaar over her anytime as a team mate.
Shepard's sacrifce will always have a place in my heart.
Mass Effect 2's Arrival DLC? Blowing up a Mass Relay? Anyone?
Nah Shadow broker kicks ass.
Both were pretty great DLCs. Though, I can't believe destroying an actual Mass Relay wasn't considered one of the top moments.
The end of DLC was cool and epic and tense, but like middle of DLC was really not great. Thats why this DLC as whole not so great to me. While Shadow broker was great from start to finish
+modisp That is perhaps true. Though the actual moment of ramming an asteroid into the Relay was pretty cool.
I remember pushing over landing area under fire while timer is running and then meeting Harbringer. That whole part was sweeeeet.
I hope, no I demand Andromeda makes justice to the original games.
+Derek Guerrero I'm with you brother...!!!
It BETTER.
I don't know how they could do that^^ It's an impossible task, only John Wick could pull it off :D
Derek Guerrero coming from the future, it didnt
*that's cute*
Top 10 saddest deaths in the mass effect series
Pretty simple. Mordin, Anderson, thane, Miranda if You Dont save her in 3, wrex on Virmire if You Dont calm him down, legion in 3, tali in 3, Ashley or kaidan in 3 if You or your team shoots, shepard and crew at the start of 2 and I’d say saren when he realises he is under reaper control and shoots himself.
@@antonhallergren588 I agree though I'd have 1. Anderson, 2. Mordin, 3. Saren, 4. Shepard at the end of 3, and 5. Thane.
Should have mentioned Thane vs Kai Leng at least in the honorable mentions. coolest fight ever
Plus Shepard vs Clone.
+Michael Hanley A yearly thing for you? Hah, for me it used to be quarterly! And I can't wait to add Andromeda to the playtroughs once it's out!
+Michael Hanley i do the same thing. though it has been almost 2 years since i last played.
I NEED to know how this ends!' My absolute favorite from the series.
for me: Grunts last stand. Hands down, most epic moment. When you think he is done and then he just casually walks out..... oh uhm spoiler?
"Anyone got something to eat?"- Grunt's greatest line & one of the best in the series.
the ending song of the first one xD
***** yess !
+bogdan m I love that song, and I still listen to it to this day :D
Wait, so how come the galaxies united fleet arriving at earth not count?
+Christopher Kimson Yea,that´s also one of the most epic moments.Should have been at least an honorable mention or even a spot on the list.
That was definitely one of my favorite moments
I nerdgasmed so much when all of the fleets jumped in
+Christopher Kimson I remember when they all got out of the Relay. I was wow... That much, when... when will it stop? How many are there?!
Thane's death and memorial service brought a tear to my eye.
I more or less agree, only wish that the final space-battle had been on this.
I mean 'come on!' that was like the Galaxy extending a collective middle-finger to the Reapers!
Who's exited for ME Andromeda?!
+DarkSTBAngel I am but i'm super worried they're going to fuck it up.
+puffwad All 3 games were great so I doubt it
+puffwad Worried as in they'll follow ME2 too much and give us less story and more disjointed short stories. that's what I'm worried about.
I'm just sad that I will have to wait an entire year just to play it, but the wait will be worth it. Also I'll have Fallout 4 to keep me busy until then :D
They're killing off Shepherd and starting off from scratch
I was never really upset with the ending to ME3; sure it was unconventional, but it was, in my opinion, pretty damn good
Who didn't romance Garrus.
the opening scene in mass effect 1 was pretty epic after you pick your character and the game starts
Fleets arrival. My gods...this cutscene.
Mass Effect 2 ending mission is one of the best in the gaming history imho.
You really had to show Tali's suicide didn't you....... Just seeing that scene felt like I was being stabbed.
This needs to be made into a top 20. Every moment on here is great and deserves its place, but you can't have a list of best Mass Effect moments without drunk Tali, the reveal of the Normandy SR2, or stabbing Kai Leng and avenging Thane.
"You can not even grasp the nature of our existence" Pretty much just Sovereign saying "bro you cant even"
Mass Effect,in my opinion the best game series ever !!! (and I don´t think anythin will beat it) The story, the characters, the galaxy, the races, the lore, the music, the desicions, the protagonist and the epic mission´s are all factors that make this series the best for ME.ANd I hope ME:A will continue this epicness :-)
I wish I could write this under every ME YT video out there but it´s impossible although I try to do it :D
So i'm nearing the end of my Dragon Age trilogy gaming spree..agian.. You have now forced my hand to play this trilogy.. again..
How can you miss Spectre moment from ME1?
OMG RIGHT!!!
Glad #2 was listed. Legion "dying" was the one moment that stood out the most during the whole organic vs. synthetic conflict. Even though Legion was my favourite character, I wasn't disappointed with his ending.
Those moments of flashback to that kid from Vancouver always killed me inside.
Mordin ripped out my soul. Many tears were shed that evening.
No drunk tali?
3:41 I love Joker so much
Best game(s) I have ever played. Can not wait for Andromeda.
Me too
RicBar MacNor well rip for both of you
Best videogame saga ever made. As simple as that.
6: Getting space layed.
5: Getting space Aids.
