It would be great if Calder could bring back the original track. The short circuit was spectator paradise.

Agree totally. I thought the short circuit provided great racing.

@@inpitlaneI watched Roberto Moreno win the Australian GP there against new F1 champion Alan Jones. 1980 or 1981?

Great show but what happened to the extra footage of Calder Park after the show mentioned in the previous show build up or was this it.

The extra footage is the interviews with Tim, Nash and Trevor that we couldn't fit on the TV show.

Having been a competitor at meetings with Juniors they can be a pain. They crash and then take forever to extricate and take away. When you are belted in ready to go the 15+ min seems like an hour. If it was an adult they simply get the driver out, cart them off if required and the meeting continues.
Calder? Rohan,, I have raced Sports Sedans at AIR for many years,, a long time ago. The rubber from the burnouts and start line before 'glue' was ok in the dry. But in the wet it was like ice and I have seen numerous cars crash hard. That Calder concrete when wet will be outright dangerous. Looking at old clips the current track is so different, about the last 3 corners have gone and it seems the end of the main straight is tighter as well. So an abreviation of the 80s track. One track I have not raced at, enteres once in the early 80s!
I have today watched the Vic series there today and it was a bit ho hum. Without Mt Jane it would be boring,, though the kerbs on the back straights have slowed things down a bit.

So of corse road gets priority over drag so maybe , the big word , 2 events a year , forget it , Calder group 1 drags are dead at Calder .

With more interest with SVG and Brodie Kosteki in Nascar they might use it TA2 cars did demo lap at last round... They could use equipment from Sandown when it closes to update facilities and get more use...

Not sure of the long term future of supercars once the Camaro is gone .it would be great to still have a Australian NASCAR series

CALDER PARK : THE Track does not even have a functioning Website, the Straight Grand Stand seems to be condemned and you cannot gain access. I was there last week and it is improving it needs an injection of Millions. New Video on my Channel with the Drifting.

If Sandown closes they could use equipment from there...
