They had three races per meeting in 2001, the first one Calder Park, 2000 Steven Johnson #17 DJR Ford got a great start and won the race, next race he made a bad start, finished about 7th Paul Morris won the 2nd race.
Great driver Mark Larkham, in more recent years he does very well explaining things to us, GREAT GUY TOP MAN!!

Less than 2.5 seconds between first and last in qualifying. That's something I definitely wouldn't expect if Calder Park existed nowadays.

Looking at the sheer size of that field you wonder if they should just run super2 as a separate class in the same race.

Repco Supercars Championship is going down the same road to irrelevancy as NASCAR is.
Every year the cars get further removed from the touring cars we see in our dealer showrooms.
Holden versus Ford - when neither car is even made in Australia anymore.
The appeal to the non-gearhead fan gets diminished every year- why NASCAR attendance is tanking in the US.
The Golden Age of racing "stock" cars is gone forever.

Gen 3 comes in next year, which fixes that very issue. Things are looking good, supercars have actually listened to their fans
