I own the JSTA with 5.56 and Pistol inserts to run on my belt. I also own the 7x6x3 with dual 5.56 inserts. Like you said, the 7x6x3 could really do with an extra column of MOLLE, or to be a smaller main pouch. The 7x6x3 tends to have too much slop to it when you put any sort of gear in it. Still a decent pouch, but the JSTA is far superior in quality, and in my opinion, is much better suited for a the belt set up when compared to the 7x6x3.

Right on! Yeah I’m curious about the 7x6x2, might give that one a try, might be a little better for a belt setup

I have a fully fitted Spiritus Systems LBV, that is great for patrolling. I just have a hard time getting over how light duty their gear feels compared to what I have used over the past 30 years. I doubt that it's going to fail me, but I also don't have the same confidence in it as I do my SOE, or old school Eagle and HSGI. I will have to dig up my stuff from Haley to compare it to. But I digress...

Yeah I think most older gear utilized 1000D nylon for most everything. Nowadays that’s way less common aside from rucks, bags etc. I know some companies offer some of the same products in 1000D, probably for contract purposes but I agree. Definitely has a different feel to it

I like mine but I don't really have a use for a 1+1 pouch and I think a zipper is the way to go here; the flap goes low enough that it can pull the whole thing up when you open it.
Shepard Associated has some similar stuff, the Midwest pouches look nice but iirc the Shepard pouches address some of your concerns.

@@contrabassbob I hadn’t heard of them before, looks like they have some really good options though. Good price point too.

First off awesome video! Second off you do you. But Amazon has there same exact pouch for the most part for like 20 bucks plus a single ar mag sleeve and pistol mag sleeve. So for the cost of there’s I could grab a set of baofangs some extra .22 to run in my conversion kit to train. Then also put gas in the truck to get to the range. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No hate, but what makes this worth 80 smth dollars as opposed to the 5 dollar equivilant on ali express? It's not ir compliancy, as they're made out of the same materials.

I guess it depends on how long or often you plan on using it, let’s say the JSTA works well for you and makes your training easier for several years, I’d argue that’s worth the money. I don’t know for certain but even if the materials are technically the same the dyes and fabric treatment are probably what’s different.
