    The aftermarket straps are made of a slightly softer material. My biggest issue with these bands is the loops get stretched out quite quickly. This happens even faster with the aftermarket bands

    I thought it was just my blue straps that looked like that. They appear to have a film on them but I guess that's just how they are. My watch is blue and I absolutely love it.

    The case cover should be designed so that the barometric sensor hole exits the side, like the Instinct 2. There is a known issue where elevation readings have been way off, due to sweat and dirt blocking the port. I made my own cover which has solve this problem. The charging port cover also good.

    If you look at the mold lines on the bands you'll see they're not the same. That being said, that doesn't mean they're any better or worse, but it does make me wonder what materials they're actually made from.

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  Год назад

      The one I show in this video was for the Instinct 1. I had an Instinct 2, but never put a screen protector on it. Many things I have read says that you can't put one on it because the screen is slightly curved vs. the Instinct 1 that was a flat screen (one if the things I liked better about the Instinct 1 over the Instinct 2). Sorry if I hear of anyone that has one they recommend for the Instinct 2, I will come back and let you know.

    How do you take the screen protector off with the bezel making it difficult to get at?

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  2 года назад +3

      I will say this, it is hard because it fits so perfect and the bezel makes it hard to get to. I used the plastic tooth pick on my swiss army knife to get between the screen protector and bezel. It took some time and probably would have been easier with a harder item (i.e. knife blade) but I wanted something that would not scratch the crystal. Once you get it pried up a bit, it comes off easy. I only took it off because I sold my first instinct and wasn't sure if the buyer would want it. On my solar I have had the screen protector on for over a year and it looks and works great. I haven't had a need to remove it. Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the tutorial videos... these accessories will be helpful for my new Garmin.😄 Just wondering is it possible to keep the seconds displayed longer then it turning off after no movement?

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  3 года назад +2

      Unfortunately there is not a setting for that. I will say though the watch face I use, as long as the watch is on my wrist. . . the seconds are visible. It is only when I take off the watch or put it in battery saver that they stop and are no longer displayed. Thanks for watching, have a good day!

    Hi. After having the older instinct and now the solar instinct, would you recomend this watch?
    I'm doing mtb and trekking.

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  2 года назад +1

      Good question. I love the Instinct Solar (liked the Instinct as well). Traditionally I am a Casio Protrek guy but if you have to have a smart watch, I think the Instinct Solar is the way to go. It will cost you a little more, but having the Solar charging is just a cool feature that down the road I think you will be glad you paid extra to have. With all that said, if budget is no factor I would go for the Garmin Fenix. A lot more features and a better map. However it is way out of my budget and as a result I went Instinct and have no regrets. Hope that helps, good luck.

    Paid 9.97 on Amazon and got 2 screen protectors, 6 rubber charge port covers in 3 colors. (2 each), 2 black body covers, and 2, 6 ft charging cords.
    Edit: the screen protectors are just a hair smaller then the screen though so you have to be mindful when installing or it will mess with anyone with OCD.

    Are you able to put the silicone case on without removing the straps?

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  3 года назад

      No you can't (or at least with mine you can't). That is the worst part about it. Not that it is hard to take off the strap, but still kind of a pain. I only use the silicone case when I am heading to my farm for the weekend. . . the rest of the time it is off the watch.

    Did you ever have a problem with water getting stuck under the silicon cover around the buttons? I want to use one but would be worried that it would trap water and then slowly let it into the watch with button presses.

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  Год назад +1

      I have never had issues with mine but I will say I do not keep it on for extended periods of time. I tend to throw it on when I know I will be doing something that would be prone to scratching the watch (i.e. hiking thru a forest, etc.), but after I am done I remove the cover.

    That’s like wearing Kevlar to play with nerf guns. That watch is built to military water, shock, and thermal requirements. Putting a silicon “protector” on it is pointless.

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  Год назад +5

      Compared to my G-Shocks the Instinct was not near as rugged. Bezel and screen easily scratched on it and I babied it compared to my Casio watches. But I see where you are coming from and can understand not wanting to put any extra protection on the watch.

    • @Slipknot2RIP
      @Slipknot2RIP Год назад +1

      I work construction and after having this watch for two weeks it would be totally scratched and cut on the face if I didn’t protect it. I opted for a hard silicone cover instead of soft silicone.

    I really like your videos and you have a lot of fine points, but have you considered that the watch is in contact with your skin all day. The screen protector is not, of course, but the straps and the port cover might contain material that is not suited for wearing on your body. That’s the “price” of cheap Chinese products.

    Yeah sorry but this watch is meant to be rugged. Putting a cover over it that makes it look like a black donut is just silly. This is the type of watch that looks better slightly banged up. This is as silly as people who worry about banging up a G Shock. Screen protector to keep the screen from getting jacked up and eligible. Sure why not I have one on my Instinct. Rubber tube thing that makes watch look like an oversized black donut on your arm....nah.
