Swindles especially add up over time because they happen most often to lower rated players that the higher rated player would lose a lot of points to. I remember in otb tournaments it was completely common for masters to have losing positions out of the opening vs experts and class A but they still win almost every time
Yes more book reviews please! And I appreciate how you mention what rating you think a book would be best for. And having sample problems where we can pause and try ourselves.
I was already sure that I would purchase it in future not 100 percent but was very much agreed to buy this and now ur review came to further confirm that this is a trustworthy book
I think the concept of saving lost games, even if by a draw, is a better angle than swindling. Not many books are focused on that, to my knowledge, so I'm intrigued about that aspect of the book.
I like these book reviews and hope you keep doing them. I think it is very helpful that you point out for what rating books are suitable . Thanks for the upload.
For around 1600s what are other ways I can try and learn to save more lost positions, I feel I am not as good at swindling, I just trade and go into a bad endgame.
I have two very nice swindles from rated classical OTB games I'll share with you someday. They're all the prettier because the payoff isn't apparent for several moves down the road.
Excellent book review. Have you read the Shereshevsky method? If yes, then what's your honest review of that book for improvement just like Pump up your rating?

Nice review. I don't think many players would have seen that first swindle coming.

Try to avoid trading when you're down material!

Haven't read it but I do like Pump Up Your Rating
Is there a chapter on the Rosen trap?
There is a chapter on stalemate, yes!
I played Smerdon when he was around sixteen I lost.
Would you recommend either the physical book or the chessable course over the other?
Personally I prefer physical books when there is nothing to memorize, but Chessable has some great courses regardless - Kostya
I have the Chessable course with video - it is epic. He has a good vibe and is a wonderful teacher
In Australian it is pronounced "Swindlah"
@@ChessDojo Alright. Thanks for the reply.
@@sdaiwepm Good to hear. Might be picking up the course later this year. Thanks.
