After the formentioned upgrades he covered, if possible - sell your stock rims and upgrade to the Bontrager Line 30 wheelset . This allows you to max out your tire sizes to 2.35" on 29" wheels. The tire selections will now give you serious traction and TUBELESS options like the Maxxis REKONS or Forekasters. With the Line 30 rims you now have Rapid Hub technology. The high engagement kit gives you 108 points of engagement in the hub. This equals instant forward motion with every pedal stroke. A high engagement hub is a GAME CHANGER. Trek Stores did all this work. So stop by and they'll be happy to help with Bontrager upgrades. Even the PNW parts they can order. Hope this helps.
My Marlin 7 has similar upgrades. The PNW Range bars are 31.8 using factory stem. The grips are also from PNW . I highly recommend the XL versions. His pedals are flat studded polymer. I use Raceface Chesters on mine - Highly recommended . Regarding a dropper post upgrade - I also recommend the PNW Cascade external dropper. Call PNW directly for correct sizing. You'll be amazed how a good dropper allows you to traverse steep terrain. You'll also need the PNW Range Lever to work with the dropper post - its sold separately.
Nice little video. Ive gone the same route on my marlin 6. Bars first. Then 1x conversion with plans for dropper post. Just got a new ergon saddle, so much better than arvada. Bontager pedals on order. Got some wtb slicks on it now cuz ive riding alot of pavement. Nice country where you live. Take care
Nice video I just got the same bike. I had two quick questions. Your upgrades are sick. Why did you buy the Fooker pedal over sticking with PNW and grabbing the pedals? Also what saddle did you pick up?
Beautiful bike. I just picked up a Marlin 7 and got those same exact pedals and PNW handle bars :) . I noticed your stem is all the way up with the three spacers below it, did you raise your stem? Mine stem has 2 spacers below and 1 above. I am now looking for some raised handle bars and i will be done with the upgrades, i don't mind the saddle too much. I might install a dropper post at some point down the road.
I like those bars a lot! I’m new to owning my marlin 6, only a cpl of days actually but the stock bars have to gooo. Would you happen to know the rise on those bars? I’m 6’4” so I’m thinking a high rise like 35 or so would be more comfortable but correct me if I’m wrong please. Ps your bike looks sick kitted out in red

This is incredibly well made. You really deserve more subscribers.
Too bad you didn't include the links on the products you recommended. I would love to know where you got your handlebars
I'd agree with links, but he shows and says where he got them. PNW.

I'm with a few others here, sick upgrades but what saddle did you end up with?
What size are the bars thinking of getting some now! (Hopefully you see this)
Love the PNW grips & handlebar!
Thank you! They feel really good while riding. Brings a little more out in the bike for sure! Thanks for watching and commenting.

What saddle did you end up going with? I have the same bike and that seat kills after riding
can you upgrade the marlin 6 gen 3 to a shorter handlebar? Like to a 660mm?
The regular handlebar that comes with the Marlin 6 Gen 3 is 750mm.
cool video 🤙
Thanks brother😁
I’m confused isn’t this a 1 by drive train just wondering is that a second shifter or just a dropper or something
This is the 2021 version of the marlin 6, which actually is a 2x train. In the 2022 version, it was changed to a 1x drive train.
Looks good man. How much were your pedals ?
Thanks for watching! I wanna say I gave like $35 for them. They Have been holding up quite well!
@@hardtailstrails1299 anytime I just got a new bike but don’t like the stock pedals what are yours called?
